Description
このような白色発光有機電界発光素子は、下記特許文献1に開示されたことがある。下記特許文献1によれば、有機電界発光素子は、第1電極、正孔注入層、正孔輸送層、発光層、電子輸送層、電子注入層及び第2電極を備える。前記発光層は、青色蛍光を放出する化合物でドーピングされ、前記発光層に接している前記正孔輸送層及び/または前記電子輸送層は、黄色蛍光を放出する化合物でドーピングされる。しかしながら、下記特許文献1によれば前記有機電界発光素子は、3ないし5cd/A程度の高くない発光効率(luminance yield)特性を表す。
<製造例>
基板上にITOを用いて2mm×2mmの面積を持つ第1電極を形成し、これを超音波洗浄及びUV-O3処理した。前記UV-O3処理された第1電極上にTDATA(4、4'、4''-Tris(N、N-diphenyl-amino)-triphenylamine)を600Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、正孔注入層を形成した。前記正孔注入層上にα-NPB(N、N'-Bis(naphthalen-1-yl)-N、N'-bis(phenyl)benzidine;HOMO 5.4eV、LUMO 1.9eV)を300Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、正孔輸送層を形成した。DPVBiに4、4'-bis[2、2'-di(4-dialkylaminophenyl)vinyl]-1、1'-biphenyl)を1.5重量%でドーピングして前記正孔輸送層上に60Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、青色光を放出する蛍光発光層を形成した。CBP(UDC社)にPQ2Ir(acac)[iridium(III)bis(2-phenylquinolyl-N、C2')acetylacetonate]を7重量%でドーピングして前記蛍光発光層上に250Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、オレンジ-赤色光を放出する燐光発光層を形成した。前記燐光発光層上にBAlqを50Åの厚さで真空蒸着し、Alq3を300Åの厚さで真空蒸着し、次にLiFを20Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、正孔阻止層、電子輸送層、電子注入層を順次形成した。前記電子注入層上にAlを3000Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、第2電極を形成した。

基板上にITOを用いて2mm×2mmの面積を持つ第1電極を形成し、これを超音波洗浄及びUV-O3処理した。前記UV-O3処理された第1電極上にTDATAを600Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、正孔注入層を形成した。前記正孔注入層上にα-NPBを300Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、正孔輸送層を形成した。DPVBiに4、4'-bis[2、2'-di(4-dialkylaminophenyl)vinyl]-1、1'-biphenylを1.5重量%でドーピングして前記正孔輸送層上に60Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって青色光を放出する第1蛍光発光層を形成した。DPVBiにIDEMITSU-P1(IDEMITSU社)を3重量%でドーピングして前記第1蛍光発光層上に250Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによってオレンジ-赤色光を放出する第2蛍光発光層を形成した。前記第2蛍光発光層上にBAlqを50Åの厚さで真空蒸着し、Alq3を300Åの厚さで真空蒸着し、次にLiFを20Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、正孔阻止層、電子輸送層、電子注入層を順次形成した。前記電子注入層上にAlを3000Åの厚さで真空蒸着することによって、第2電極を形成した。

- 第1電極と、
第2電極と、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に介在され、蛍光発光層と燐光発光層とを備える発光層とを含み、
前記蛍光発光層は、青色領域の光を放出する発光層であり、
前記燐光発光層は、オレンジ-赤色領域の光を放出する発光層として白色光を放出し、
前記蛍光発光層は、ジスチルアリレン(distyrylarylene;DSA)、ジスチルアリレン誘導体、ジスチルベンゼン(distyrylbenzene;DSB)、ジスチルベンゼン誘導体、DPVBi(4、4-apos;-bis(2、2-apos;-diphenylvinyl)-1、1-apos;-biphenyl)、DPVBi誘導体、スピロ-DPVBi、スピロ-6P(spiro-sexiphenyl)、TBSA((9、10-bis[(2-apos;-apos;7-apos;-apos;-t-butyl)-9-apos;、9-apos;-apos;-spirobifluorenyl)anthracene)、BFA-IT(2、5-bis{4-[bis-(9、9-dimethyl-2-fluorenyl)amino]phenyl}thiophene)及びTPBI(N-arylbenzimidazoles)からなる群から選択される一つの物質を含み、
前記燐光発光層は、ホスト物質としてアリルアミン系、カバゾル系及びスピロ系からなる群から選択される一つの物質を含み、ドーパント物質としてIr、Pt、Tb、及びEuからなる群から選択される一つの中心金属を持つ燐光有機金属錯体を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 前記蛍光発光層は、スチリルアミン(styrylamine)系、フェニレン(phenylene)系及びDSBP(distyrylbiphenyl)系からなる群から選択される一つのドーパント物質をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記ホスト物質は、CBP(4、4-N、Ndicarbazole-biphenyl)、CBP誘導体、mCP(N、N-dicarbazolyl-3、5-benzene)及びmCP誘導体からなる群から選択される一つの物質であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記ドーパント物質は、PQIr、PQIr(acac)、PQ2Ir(acac)、PIQIr(acac)、PtOEP、Btp2Ir及びIr(piq)3からなる群から選択される一つの燐光有機金属錯体であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 正孔注入層、正孔輸送層、電子注入層、電子輸送層及び正孔阻止層からなる群から選択される一つ以上をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記第1電極はアノードであり、
前記蛍光発光層は、前記第1電極上に位置し、
前記燐光発光層は、前記蛍光発光層上に位置することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。 - 前記燐光発光層上に位置する正孔阻止層をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記蛍光発光層は、50ないし200Åの厚さを持つことを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記燐光発光層は、50ないし300Åの厚さを持つことを特徴とする、請求項6記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記第1電極は、アノードであり、
前記燐光発光層は、前記第1電極上に位置し、
前記蛍光発光層は、前記燐光発光層上に位置することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。 - 前記燐光発光層は、50ないし200Åの厚さを持つことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記蛍光発光層は、50ないし300Åの厚さを持つことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 少なくとも一つは透明電極である第1電極と第2電極と、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に介在され、蛍光発光層と燐光発光層を備えて駆動の際、白色光を放出する発光層と、
前記発光層から外部に取り出される光が通過する経路に位置するカラーフィルター層を含み、
前記蛍光発光層は、青色領域の光を放出する発光層であり、
前記燐光発光層は、オレンジ-赤色領域の光を放出する発光層であり、
前記蛍光発光層は、ジスチルアリレン(distyrylarylene;DSA)、ジスチルアリレン誘導体、ジスチルベンゼン(distyrylbenzene;DSB)、ジスチルベンゼン誘導体、DPVBi(4、4-apos;-bis(2、2-apos;-diphenylvinyl)-1、1-apos;-biphenyl)、DPVBi誘導体、スピロ-DPVBi、スピロ-6P(spiro-sexiphenyl)、TBSA((9、10-bis[(2-apos;-apos;7-apos;-apos;-t-butyl)-9-apos;、9-apos;-apos;-spirobifluorenyl)anthracene)、BFA-IT(2、5-bis{4-[bis-(9、9-dimethyl-2-fluorenyl)amino]phenyl}thiophene)及びTPBI(N-arylbenzimidazoles)からなる群から選択される一つの物質を含み、
前記燐光発光層は、ホスト物質としてアリルアミン系、カバゾル系及びスピロ系からなる群から選択される一つの物質を含み、ドーパント物質としてIr、Pt、Tb、及びEuからなる群から選択される一つの中心金属を持つ燐光有機金属錯体を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 前記燐光発光層のホスト物質は、CBP(4、4-N、Ndicarbazole-biphenyl)、CBP誘導体、mCP(N、N-dicarbazolyl-3、5-benzene)及びmCP誘導体からなる群から選択される一つのホスト物質であり、前記燐光発光層のドーパント物質はPQIr、PQIr(acac)、PQ2Ir(acac)、PIQIr(acac)、PtOEP、及びIr(piq)3からなる群から選択される一つのドーパント物質であることを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 正孔注入層、正孔輸送層、電子注入層、電子輸送層及び正孔阻止層からなる群から選択される一つ以上をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第1電極はアノードであり、
前記蛍光発光層は、前記第1電極上に位置し、
前記燐光発光層は、前記蛍光発光層上に位置することを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記燐光発光層上に位置する正孔阻止層をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第1電極は、アノードであり、
前記燐光発光層は、前記第1電極上に位置し、
前記蛍光発光層は、前記燐光発光層上に位置することを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
