Description
アノードの反応:4HCl→2Cl2+4H++4e−
カソードの反応:O2+4H++4e−→2H2O
全体的な反応: 4HCl+O2→2Cl2+2H2O (1)
塩酸水溶液から塩素を生成するために電気化学セルで電極を使用する場合、塩化水素の水溶液が一般的にアノード室内に送り込まれる。供給される塩化水素水溶液の温度は30から90℃であることが好ましく、50から70℃であることがより好ましい。
標準チタン−パラジウム合金(チタングレード11)から成るエキスパンドメタルの表面を、鋳鋼粒でブラストすることによって30から40μmの粗さ深度まで粗面化した。エキスパンドメタルをその後、20重量%の塩酸で約10分間酸洗いした。これにより、ブラスト研磨剤の残余も除去された。
標準チタン−パラジウム合金(チタングレード11)から成るエキスパンドメタルの表面を、鋳鋼粒でブラストすることによって30から40μmの粗さ深度まで粗面化した。エキスパンドメタルをその後、20重量%の塩酸で約10分間酸洗いした。これにより、ブラスト研磨剤の残余も除去された。
アノードを特徴とするアノード空間と、陽イオン交換膜と、酸素消費カソードおよび集電体を特徴とするカソード空間とを含む電気化学セルに、各々100cm2の活性表面積を有する実施例1および2に記載した電極をアノードとして、かつ集電体として必要な周辺装置と一緒に取り付け、試験した。
Claims (6)
- チタン−パラジウム合金、チタン、タンタル、またはチタンもしくはタンタルの化合物もしくは合金の導電性支持体と、電気化学的に活性な被覆と、前記支持体と前記電気化学的に活性な被覆との間の中間層とを少なくとも含む電極であって、前記中間層が炭化チタンから成り、フレームまたはプラズマ溶射によって前記支持体に被着され、前記支持体上の前記中間層のローディングが10〜5000g/m 2 であり、前記電気化学的に活性な被覆が、二酸化ルテニウムを含む混合金属酸化物か、あるいは二酸化ルテニウムと二酸化チタンとを含む混合金属酸化物から成ることを特徴とする、塩酸水溶液から塩素を生成するための電気化学セルにおいて使用するための電極。
- 前記中間層が多層化されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極。
- 支持体に中間層を被着し、その後に前記中間層の上に電気化学的に活性な被覆を被着する電極の製造方法において、前記中間層を、様々な粒径を有する炭化チタン粉末を使用して、フレームまたはプラズマ溶射によって被着することを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の電極の製造方法。
- 使用する粉末が10から200μmの粒径を有することを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 請求項1または請求項2に記載の電極のガス放出電極としての使用方法。
- 塩酸水溶液から塩素を生成するための電気化学セルで、酸素を還元するためのガス拡散電極の電流分配器としての請求項1または請求項2に記載の電極の使用方法。
