Bwt=33.9g/m2、fba=0、c=0.1、およびρf=920kg/m3であるポリプロピレン布の場合について、モデルは表1、および図3の結果を与える。

高い通気度もしくは高い液体バリアまたは両方の極端な場合、バリア層の機械的強度は達成されるバリアレベルに実用上の限界をもたらし得る。図6は、繊維バリア層に抗して前進する液体界面を示す。バリア層は、特徴的により大きな孔付きの大きな繊維の層によってサポートされた特徴的に小さな孔付きの小さな繊維の層よりなる。バリア層の小さな孔を通して非濡れ性流体を押し進めるために必要とされる圧力は、式5で与えられる。この圧力による力は、バリア層の小さな繊維すべての端から端まで分配される。従って、代表的な小さな繊維、例えば、繊維ABのローディングは単位長さ当たりの力として容易に得られる。その一面に小さな繊維が圧負荷を伝えなければならない全長は、式4で与えられるようにサポート層の孔径によって決定される。全長が余りにも大きい場合には、小さな繊維中の張力は繊維の強度を超えることができ、それらの破壊をもたらす。
直径DfS=0.6マイクロメートル(フラジール=10m3/m2−分、c=0.1、GPD=デニール当たり1グラム、およびBwt=1g/m2)のポリプロピレン(ρf=920kg/m3)繊維よりなるモデル2のバリア層が直径DfL=12マイクロメートルの繊維と共にサポート層に積層される場合、式16は
3つの対照例は、スパンボンド層が18g/m2ポリエステル(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)であり、メルトブローン層が参照により本明細書に援用される国際公開第01/09425A1号パンフレットの記載に従って製造した18g/m2二成分65重量%ポリエステル/35重量%ポリエチレン繊維である、スパンボンド/メルトブローン/スパンボンド構造でできていた。対照布は、何の微細繊維層も付着しないことを除いては、典型布と同じ方法で製造した。
クレイトンTMD1133xコポリマーを9重量%のポリマー濃度で88重量%テトラヒドロフラン/12重量%ジメチルアセトアミドの混合溶媒に熔解し、−18KVで0.5ml/時の速度で電子紡糸した。微細繊維を、対照例で記載した18g/m2二成分メルトブローン布の試料上へおおよそ22cmの収集距離で付着した。次に微細繊維層を、試料ターゲットから取り除いたスパンボンド・ポリエステルの層でカバーした。メルトブローン収集布の層もまたスパンボンド・ポリエステルの層でカバーし、すべての4層を統合して積層品にした。実施例のバリア性を測定し、下の表4に報告する。
カイナーTMポリマーを15重量%のポリマー濃度でアセトン溶媒に熔解し、−20KVで5ml/時の速度で電子紡糸した。微細繊維を、対照例で記載した18g/m2二成分メルトブローン布の試料上へおおよそ22〜30cmの収集距離で付着した。次に微細繊維層を、試料ターゲットから取り除いたスパンボンド・ポリエステルの層でカバーした。メルトブローン収集布の層もまたスパンボンド・ポリエステルの層でカバーし、すべての4層を統合して積層品にした。実施例のバリア性を測定し、下の表5に報告する。
Claims (19)
- 少なくとも1つのサポートウェブと、1.0マイクロメートル未満の直径、少なくとも145cmの水頭および少なくとも0.3m3/m2−分のフラジール通気度を有する繊維の疎水性バリアウェブとを含んでなる不織布。
- 前記バリアウェブ繊維が0.5マイクロメートル未満の直径を有する請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記バリアウェブが疎水性ポリマーまたはコポリマーのナノファイバーを含んでなる請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記疎水性ポリマーまたはコポリマーがポリオレフィン、部分フッ素化ポリマーまたはパーフッ素化ポリマーである請求項3に記載の不織布。
- 前記疎水性ポリマーまたはコポリマーがエチレン、プロピレン、ブテン、ヘキセン、オクテン、スチレン、4−メチルペンテン−1およびそれらの組合せから誘導された繰り返し単位を有する請求項4に記載の不織布。
- 前記バリアウェブが疎水性コーティングでコーティングすることによって疎水性にされる請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記疎水性コーティングがフルオロカーボンコーティング材料である請求項6に記載の不織布。
- バリアウェブが23マイクロメートル以下の繊維間最大孔径を有する請求項1に記載の不織布。
