Description
図1は、本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る二次電池の断面構成を表すものである。この二次電池は、いわゆる円筒型といわれるものであり、ほぼ中空円柱状の電池缶11の内部に、帯状の負極21と正極22とがセパレータ23を介して巻回された巻回電極体20を有している。電池缶11は、例えばニッケルのめっきがされた鉄により構成されており、一端部が閉鎖され他端部が開放されている。電池缶11の内部には、巻回電極体20を挟むように巻回周面に対して垂直に一対の絶縁板12, 13がそれぞれ配置されている。
図3は、本発明の第2の実施の形態に係る二次電池の構成を表すものである。この二次電池は、いわゆるラミネートフィルム型といわれるものであり、負極リード31および正極リード32およびが取り付けられた巻回電極体30をフィルム状の外装部材40の内部に収容したものである。
まず、負極活物質としてケイ素を用い、銅箔よりなる負極集電体51Aの上に、真空蒸着法によりケイ素よりなる負極活物質層51Bを成膜し、真空雰囲気中において熱処理した。また、正極活物質としてリチウムコバルト複合酸化物(LiCoO2 )を用意し、このリチウムコバルト複合酸化物粉末91質量部と、導電剤であるグラファイト6質量部と、結着剤であるポリフッ化ビニリデン3質量部とを混合して溶剤であるN−メチル−2−ピロリドンに分散させた。次いで、これをアルミニウム箔よりなる正極集電体52Aに塗布し乾燥させたのち、ロールプレス機で圧縮成型して正極活物質層52Bを形成し、正極52を作製した。
負極活物質層51Bの上に蒸着法によりフッ化リチウムと水酸化リチウムを含む被膜51Cを形成すると共に、電解液に4−フルオロ−1,3−ジオキソラン−2−オンに代えて炭酸エチレンを用いたことを除き、実施例1と同様にして二次電池を組み立て、同様にして2サイクル目の放電容量、2サイクル目に対する30サイクル目の容量維持率、および2サイクル目の充放電効率を求めた。それらの結果も表1に示す。なお、被膜51Cの組成は、蒸着条件を調節することにより、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比が1以上となるように調節し、被膜51Cの厚みは100μm以下とした。
実施例1と同様にして二次電池を組み立てたのち、充放電における電流密度を変えて充放電を行ったことを除き、実施例1と同様にして2サイクル目の放電容量、2サイクル目に対する30サイクル目の容量維持率、および2サイクル目の充放電効率を求めた。充放電における電流密度は、実施例4では0.75mA/cm2 、実施例5では2mA/cm2 、実施例6では5mA/cm2 とした。また、実施例1と同様にして負極51を取り出し、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比を調べた。それらの結果も表1に示す。
実施例1または実施例2と同様にして二次電池を組み立てたのち、充電時における電圧を4.3Vとしたことを除き、実施例1,2と同様にして2サイクル目の放電容量、2サイクル目に対する30サイクル目の容量維持率、および2サイクル目の充放電効率を求めた。すなわち、充電は1mA/cm2 の定電流密度で電池電圧が4.3Vに達するまで行ったのち、4.3Vの定電圧で電流密度が0.02mA/cm2 に達するまで行った。なお、実施例7では実施例1と同様の電解液を用い、実施例8では実施例2と同様の電解液を用いた。また、実施例1と同様にして負極51を取り出し、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比を調べた。それらの結果も表1に示す。
実施例1または実施例2と同様にして二次電池を組み立てたのち、充電条件を変えたことを除き、実施例1,2と同様にして2サイクル目の放電容量、2サイクル目に対する30サイクル目の容量維持率、および2サイクル目の充放電効率を求めた。充電は1mA/cm2 の定電流密度で4.8Vの電圧を100kHzのパルス状に印加し、電池電圧が4.2Vに達したのち、4.2Vの定電圧で電流密度が0.02mA/cm2 に達するまで行った。なお、実施例9では実施例1と同様の電解液を用い、実施例10では実施例2と同様の電解液を用いた。また、実施例1と同様にして負極51を取り出し、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比を調べた。それらの結果も表1に示す。
電解液に、4−フルオロ−1,3−ジオキソラン−2−オンに代えて炭酸エチレンを用いたことを除き、実施例1と同様にして二次電池を組み立て、同様にして2サイクル目の放電容量、2サイクル目に対する30サイクル目の容量維持率、および2サイクル目の充放電効率を求めた。また、実施例1と同様にして負極を取り出し、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比を調べた。それらの結果も表1に示す。
実施例1と同様にして二次電池を組み立てたのち、充放電における電流密度を10mA/cm2 として充放電を行ったことを除き、実施例1と同様にして2サイクル目の放電容量、2サイクル目に対する30サイクル目の容量維持率、および2サイクル目の充放電効率を求めた。また、実施例1と同様にして負極を取り出し、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比を調べた。それらの結果も表1に示す。
表1に示したように、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比が1以上の実施例1〜10によれば、1未満の比較例1,2よりも、放電容量、容量維持率および充放電効率のいずれについても向上させることができた。また、Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ ピーク強度比が4以上の場合により高い値を得ることができた。
Claims (7)
- 正極および負極と共に電解質を備えたリチウムイオン二次電池であって、
前記負極は、フッ化リチウムおよび水酸化リチウムを含むと共に、飛行時間型二次イオン質量分析装置による正イオン分析で得られるLi2 F+ のLi2 OH+ に対するピーク強度比(Li2 F+ /Li2 OH+ )が1以上である被膜を有するリチウムイオン二次電池。 - 前記負極は、リチウム(Li)を吸蔵および放出することが可能であり、構成元素として金属元素および半金属元素のうちの少なくとも1種を含む負極活物質層を有する請求項1記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記負極は、構成元素としてケイ素(Si)およびスズ(Sn)のうちの少なくとも一方を含む負極活物質層を有する請求項1記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記正極はリチウム含有複合酸化物を含む請求項1記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記負極は、ケイ素の単体、合金および化合物のうちの少なくとも1種を含む負極活物質層を有する請求項1記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記被膜におけるLi 2 F + のLi 2 OH + に対するピーク強度比(Li 2 F + /Li 2 OH + )は、4以上である請求項1記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記電解質は、溶媒として4−フルオロ−1,3−ジオキソラン−2−オンおよび4,5−ジフルオロ−1,3−ジオキソラン−2−オンのうちの少なくとも1種を含む請求項1記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
