Physical Review B. Volume 54, 9353 (1996)
まず、本発明の実施形態に係る磁気センサの基本構成について説明する。図1は本発明の一実施形態に係る磁気センサの構成図である。この磁気センサは、第1の磁気共鳴層11、非磁性金属層12、および第2の磁気共鳴層13を積層した構造を含む磁性発振素子10の両端に発生する高周波発振電圧をモニターする手段として、高周波フィルタ50と、積分回路60を設けたものである。
本実施例では、磁性発振素子を作製して、その発振特性を測定した結果について説明する。図8(a)に本実施例で作製した磁性発振素子を含むコプレナガイドの平面図、図8(b)に図8(a)の断面図、図8(c)に図8(b)の磁性発振素子部の詳細な断面図を示す。このコプレナガイドは、サファイア基板(図示せず)上に金属薄膜をスパッタリングにより成膜し、電子線リソグラフィーにより加工することにより作製した。
本実施例では信号電圧を測定した結果について説明する。図9の増幅器およびスペクトルアナライザーに代えて、時定数が約10nsの積分回路を接続した。図11(a)に示したパルス磁場を印加した状態で、出力電圧(信号電圧)をシンクロスコープにより測定した。図11(b)に信号電圧の測定結果を示す。図11(b)に示したように、振幅0.5mVの信号が得られた。
本実施例ではさらにバンドパスフィルタを導入して信号電圧を測定した結果について説明する。実施例2で用いた測定系のバイアスティーと積分回路との間に、最大透過率98%、中心周波数11.9GHz、半値幅0.5GHzのガウス型バンドパスフィルタを挿入した。実施例2と同様に、図12(a)に示したパルス磁場を印加した状態で、出力電圧(信号電圧)をシンクロスコープにより測定した。図12(b)に信号電圧の測定結果を示す。図12(b)に示したように、振幅が約1mVに増大したことがわかる。
Claims (9)
- 第1の磁気共鳴層と、第2の磁気共鳴層と、前記第1の磁気共鳴層と前記第2の磁気共鳴層との間に挟まれた非磁性層と、前記第1および第2の磁気共鳴層ならびに前記非磁性層の膜面に対して垂直に電流を通電する一対の電極を有する磁性発振素子と、
電流の通電によって誘起される前記第1および第2の磁気共鳴層のうち少なくとも一方の磁化の歳差運動に起因して前記磁性発振素子の両端に発生する高周波発振電圧の振幅または発振周波数の外部磁場による変化をモニターするモニター手段と
を有することを特徴とする磁気センサ。 - 前記第1および第2の磁気共鳴層は、面内磁気異方性を有する強磁性層で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 前記第1および第2の磁気共鳴層は、垂直磁気異方性を有する強磁性層で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 前記第1および第2の磁気共鳴層は、面内磁気異方性を有する強磁性層と、垂直磁気異方性を有する強磁性層とで形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 前記第1および第2の磁気共鳴層のうち少なくとも一方は、複数の強磁性層と非磁性中間層とを交互に積層した反強磁性結合層で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 前記第1の磁気共鳴層と前記第2の磁気共鳴層との間に挟まれた非磁性層は、非磁性金属層または絶縁層であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 前記モニター手段は、前記磁性発振素子の出力端に接続された高周波フィルタと、前記高周波フィルタの出力端に接続された積分回路とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 前記モニター手段は、前記磁性発振素子の出力端に接続された電界効果トランジスタと、前記電界効果トランジスタの出力端に接続された高周波フィルタと、前記高周波フィルタの出力端に接続された積分回路とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気センサ。
- 請求項1ないし8のいずれか1項に記載の磁気センサを含む磁気ヘッドと、磁気記録媒体とを有することを特徴とする磁気記録再生装置。
