Description
図3〜13に示される実施形態は、平坦な中央領域および先細の末端領域を有する樽状ローラを有する。図18〜21は、代替的なローラ形状の範囲を示す。このリストは、網羅的であることを意図するものではなく、例示されていない他の形状も本発明の範囲内に含まれるものとする。ローラ、または転動部材の集合体は、図18に示されるような実質的に球形を有することもできるし、図19に示されるような切り落とし面811、812を備えた球形を有することもできる。真球体は、質量中心と表面との距離が一定に保たれるため、本体が直進位置から転向されるときにローラを転向するのに必要な力が一定に保たれるという利点を有する。また、ローラ組立品の幾何学的中心と外面との距離が一定に保たれるため、本体が長手軸211を中心に回転されるときにヨーク235とクリーナヘッド230との間の継手237の高さが一定に保たれる。これによって、本体とクリーナヘッド230との接続要件が簡素化される。
再び図6および7を参照すると、本体210とクリーナヘッド230との間の接続は、アーム243の長手軸に対して傾斜した平面に形成された継手237を有するヨーク235を介してなされる。継手が配置される平面238の角度を、ここに示される角度から変えることができる。継手の平面238がアーム243の長手軸に垂直になるように継手237を形成することは許容できるが、ヨークを回転させてもアーム243(およびクリーナヘッド230)が転向しないため、本発明の十分な利点を提供しない。平面238が、アーム243の長手軸に対して傾斜し、(機械を前進位置にして)床表面に対して実質的に垂直になるように継手237を形成すると、良好な結果が提供される。平面238を図6に示される位置まで傾斜させ、またはさらに傾斜させると、本体が長手軸を中心に回転するときにクリーナヘッド230が移動する範囲が大きくなる。

Claims (23)
- 表面処理機器であって、
長手軸を有する本体と、該本体に取り付けられ、該機器を表面に沿って転動させることを可能にするために前記本体に対して転動するように構成された支持体組立品と、表面処理ヘッドと、を備え、
前記支持体組立品は、外面を有する1つ以上の回転可能部材を備え、
前記1つ以上の回転可能部材の外面は、前記本体の前記長手軸に垂直な方向に実質的に連続的な1つの転動支持面を形成し、
前記支持面は、前記本体の前記長手軸を中心に対称的であることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1に記載の機器において、
前記支持面は、前記本体の幅の少なくとも50%の距離に及んでいることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1に記載の機器において、
前記支持面は、前記本体の幅の少なくとも75%の距離に及んでいることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1に記載の機器において、
前記支持面は、前記本体の幅と実質的に等しい距離に及んでいることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品の直径は、中央部より各末端部の方が小さいことを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品は、前記本体の前記長手軸に対して交差方向となる少なくとも1つの回転軸を有していることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記組立品の幾何学的中心と前記外面との間の距離は、中央部より各末端部の方が大きいことを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品の中央部は、実質的に一定の直径を有していることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品は、形状が実質的に球形であることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品は、該支持体組立品の中央部の部材が各末端部の部材より下方に延在するように構成された複数の回転可能部材を備えていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項10に記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品の少なくとも一部は、曲線の回転軸を有していることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品の質量中心は、前記支持体組立品が正規の位置から傾斜したときに前記支持体組立品をその位置に戻すように構成されていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記1つまたは複数の回転可能部材は、中空であり、チャンバの周囲に取り付けられていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品は、該機器のための少なくとも1つの構成部材を収容していることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項14に記載の機器において、
前記構成部材は、前記支持面が前記構成部材を中心に回転するように前記支持体組立品内に取り付けられていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項14または15に記載の機器において、
流体の流れに作用する手段を支持するために前記支持体組立品内に取り付けられたシェルをさらに備え、前記支持体組立品の転動支持面は、該シェルを中心に回転可能に取り付けられていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項14、15または16のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記支持体組立品は、流体の流れを受け入れるための流体導入口と、流体を排出するための流体排出口と、を備え、前記構成部材は、前記導入口を通して受け入れた前記流体の流れに作用する手段を備えていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項17に記載の機器において、
前記流体の流れに作用する手段は、吸気生成手段を備えていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項14〜18のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記構成部材は、該機器のさらなる構成部材を駆動するためのモータを備えている、あるいはさらに備えていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項19に記載の機器において、
前記さらなる構成部材は、表面処理手段を備えていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項1〜20のいずれかに記載の機器において、
前記本体と前記表面処理ヘッドとの間にリンク機構をさらに備え、前記リンク機構は、前記本体をその長手軸を中心に回転させたときに前記表面処理ヘッドを新たな方向に転向させるように構成されていることを特徴とする機器。 - 請求項21に記載の機器において、
前記リンク機構は、前記本体がその長手軸を中心に回転しているときに前記表面処理ヘッドが前記表面との接触を実質的に維持することを可能にするように構成されていることを特徴とする機器。 - 真空掃除機の形態をとる請求項1〜22のいずれかに記載の表面処理機器。
