Description
図1は、第1の実施の形態に係る光送信器を示すブロック図である。光送信器11は、LD13と、LDドライバ15と、熱電素子17と、温度制御部19と、判定部21とを備える。LD13として、例えば、ファブリペロ型LD、分布帰還(DFB)型LDおよび面発光型LDを使用することができる。熱電素子17は、LD13の温度を調整するために用いられる。熱電素子17としては、例えば、ペルチェ素子を使用することができる。LDドライバ15は、入力15aおよび出力15bを有する。LD13は、LDドライバ15から出力される駆動信号SDに応答して信号光L1を発生する。信号光L1は、LD13に光学的に結合された光ファイバWGに入射する。
図6は、第2の実施の形態に係る光送信器を示すブロック図である。光送信器41は、第1の実施の形態とは異なる判定部51を有する。

Claims (3)
- レーザダイオードと、
前記レーザダイオードを駆動するレーザドライバと、
前記レーザダイオードの温度を制御するための熱電素子と、
前記レーザダイオードの温度に対応する温度モニタ信号と前記レーザダイオードの目標温度を示す目標信号とに応答して前記熱電素子を駆動するための駆動信号を発生し、前記温度モニタ信号と前記目標信号との差に対応する誤差信号を発生する温度制御部と、
前記誤差信号の値が所定の収束判定範囲に連続してとどまる時間が所定値を超える場合に、前記レーザドライバを動作可能にするイネーブル信号を発生する判定部と
を備え、
前記判定部は、
前記収束判定範囲を示す信号および前記誤差信号を受け、前記誤差信号が前記収束判定範囲内にある間カウントイネーブル信号をイネーブルし、前記誤差信号の値が前記収束判定範囲外に遷移したときカウンタリセット信号をイネーブルするカウンタ制御部と、
前記カウントイネーブル信号がイネーブルされているときクロックをカウントしてカウント信号を発生し、前記カウンタリセット信号がイネーブルされたときリセットされるカウンタと、
前記所定値と前記カウント信号とを比較して、前記カウント信号が前記所定値を超える場合に前記イネーブル信号を発生するドライバ制御部と
を含むことを特徴とする光送信器。 - レーザダイオードと、
前記レーザダイオードを駆動するレーザドライバと、
前記レーザダイオードの温度を制御するための熱電素子と、
前記レーザダイオードの温度に対応する温度モニタ信号と前記レーザダイオードの目標温度を示す目標信号とに応答して前記熱電素子を駆動するための駆動信号を発生し、前記温度モニタ信号と前記目標信号との差に対応する誤差信号を発生する温度制御部と、
前記誤差信号が所定の第1の収束判定範囲内にあり且つ前記誤差信号の変化率が所定の第2の収束判定範囲内にある場合に、前記レーザドライバを動作可能にするイネーブル信号を発生する判定部と
を備えることを特徴とする光送信器。 - 前記判定部は、
前記第1の収束判定範囲を示す第1の信号および前記誤差信号を受け、
前記誤差信号が前記第1の収束判定範囲内にあるとき、第1の信号をイネーブルするレンジ判定部と、
前記第2の収束判定範囲を示す第2の信号および前記誤差信号を受け、前記誤差信号の変化率が前記第2の収束判定範囲内にあるとき、前記第2の信号をイネーブルする変化率判定部と、
前記第1の信号および前記第2の信号に応答して、前記イネーブル信号を発生するドライバ制御部と
を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載された光送信器。
