Claims (42)
- 基地局の送信機から複数の加入者ユニットの受信機にデータを伝送するのに用いられる、限定された数のチャネル・リソースからチャネル・リソースを割当ておよび割当て解除する方法であって、
加入者ユニットの受信機の特定の1つに伝送されるデータを、複数のデータ待ち行列に格納する格納工程であって、受信機にはそれぞれ対応する複数の待ち行列が存在し、各待ち行列は特定のトラフィック属性を有するデータ・トラフィックを処理するように割り当てられ、各待ち行列の優先度は格納されたデータに基づいている、格納工程と、
送信機内の伝送プロセッサでデータを受け取って、このデータを各受信機に対応づけられた伝送バッファに格納する工程であって、データは特定の受信機への伝送用の多数の待ち行列から前記優先度に従って到着する、受取工程と、
複数のチャネル・リソースを前記特定の受信機に割り当てる割当て工程と、
前記送信機と受信機との間の通信リンクにチャネル・リソース数を動的に再割り当てするために、チャネル・リソース割当部によって各伝送バッファの使用状態を監視して、各伝送バッファに対応する受信機に伝送されるデータの緊急度を決定する監視工程であって、この緊急度は現在のチャネル・リソース割当てに比較した伝送バッファのデータ量から決定される監視工程と、を備えたチャネル・リソースの割当ておよび割当て解除方法。 - 請求項1において、前記各伝送バッファが複数のしきい値を有し、各しきい値が、対応する伝送バッファ内に格納されたデータのレベルに関連付けされている、チャネル・リソースの割当ておよび割当て解除方法。

基地局送信機内にあり、かつ前記加入者ユニット受信機に伝送されるデータ・トラフィックを格納する複数のデータ待ち行列であって、前記加入者ユニット受信機の各々が少なくとも1つのデータ待ち行列に関連付けされており、前記データ待ち行列の各々が特定のトラフィック属性を有するデータ・トラフィックを処理し、各待ち行列の優先度は格納されたデータに基づいている、複数のデータ待ち行列と、
送信機内の伝送プロセッサでデータを受け取って、このデータを格納する、各受信機に対応づけられた伝送バッファであって、データは特定の受信機への伝送用の多数の待ち行列から前記優先度に従って到着する伝送バッファと、
前記伝送プロセッサに応答し、かつ前記伝送バッファから加入者ユニットの各々にデータを伝送する、複数の無線チャネルと、

前記緊急度係数が、データを伝送するために各伝送バッファに関連付けされた送信機の相対的必要性を表わし、
各伝送バッファの前記緊急度係数は、前記送信機と受信機の間のコネクションに対し再割り当てされるチャネル・リソース数を決定するために用いられる、無線通信システム。 - 請求項27において、前記チャネル・リソース割当部がさらに、最高の緊急度係数Uを持つ前記伝送バッファが高しきい値を超えているかどうか、および最低の緊急度係数Uを持つ前記伝送バッファが低しきい値を超えているかどうかを決定することによって、利用可能なチャネルを伝送バッファに割り当てる方法を決定し、前記伝送バッファが高しきい値および低しきい値を超えている場合、最低の緊急度係数を持つ前記伝送バッファから1つのリソース・チャネルの割当てを解除し、この1つのリソース・チャネルを、最高緊急度係数を持つ前記伝送バッファに再割り当てする、無線通信システム。
- 複数の加入者ユニット受信機と無線通信するネットワーク内の基地局であって、
伝送プロセッサと、
前記伝送プロセッサに応答する複数の無線チャネルを介して前記加入者ユニット受信機に伝送されるデータ・トラフィックを格納する複数のデータ待ち行列であって、前記加入者ユニット受信機の各々が少なくとも1つの前記データ待ち行列に関連付けされており、また前記データ待ち行列の各々が特定のトラフィック属性を有するデータ・トラフィックを処理し、各待ち行列の優先度は格納されたデータに基づいている、複数のデータ待ち行列と、
前記伝送プロセッサでデータを受け取って、このデータを格納する、各受信機に対応づけられた伝送バッファであって、データは特定の受信機への伝送用の多数の待ち行列から前記優先度に従って到着する伝送バッファと、
前記伝送プロセッサと通信し、かつ前記チャネルを前記加入者ユニット受信機に割り当てるチャネル・リソース割当部であって、前記チャネル・リソース割当部が前記各伝送バッファの使用状態を監視して、各伝送バッファに対応する加入者ユニット受信機に伝送されるデータの緊急度を決定し、さらに前記チャネルを特定の加入者ユニット受信機に再割り当てするものであり、前記緊急度が現在のチャネル・リソース割当てに比較した伝送バッファのデータ量から決定される、チャネル・リソース割当部と、を備えた、基地局。 - 請求項29において、前記各伝送バッファが複数のしきい値を有し、各しきい値が前記伝送バッファ内のデータのレベルを示している、基地局。
- 請求項29において、前記トラフィック・タイプ属性が内容の種別を含む、基地局。
- 請求項29において、前記トラフィック・タイプ属性がトランスポート手順の種別を含む、基地局。
- 請求項31において、前記内容の種別が転送プロトコル(FTP)とハイパー・テキスト転送プロトコル(HTTP)のうち少なくとも1つを備えた、基地局。
- 請求項32において、前記トランスポート手順タイプが伝送制御プロトコル/インターネット・プロトコル(TCP/IP)とユーザー・データグラム・プロトコル(UDP)のうち少なくとも1つを備えている、基地局。
- 請求項30において、前記伝送バッファしきい値がデータ・アンダーフローを示している、基地局。
- 請求項29において、さらに、複数のトランスポート層セッションを備え、前記個々の待ち行列が所定のユーザーに対して、異なるトランスポート層セッションに関連付けされている、基地局。
- 請求項30において、前記伝送バッファしきい値が、前記送信機と受信機との間のリンクに関連付けされた前記通信チャネルに割り当てられるコーディング・レートを示している、基地局。

各伝送バッファの前記緊急度係数は、前記送信機と受信機の間のコネクションに対し再割り当てされるチャネル・リソース数を決定するために用いられる、基地局。 - 請求項41において、前記チャネル・リソース割当部がさらに、最高の緊急度係数Uを持つ前記伝送バッファが高しきい値を超えているかどうか、および最低の緊急度係数Uを持つ前記伝送バッファが低しきい値を超えているかどうかを決定することにより、利用可能なチャネルを伝送バッファに割り当てる方法を決定し、前記伝送バッファが高しきい値および低しきい値を超えている場合、最低の緊急度係数を持つ前記伝送バッファから1つのリソース・チャネルの割当てを解除し、この1つのリソース・チャネルを、最高緊急度係数を持つ前記伝送バッファに再割り当てする、基地局。
