Description
a)一以上の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂;
b)一以上の架橋モノマー;および
c)ここに記載する表面向上組成物、
を含む熱硬化性樹脂組成物である。
1.重合開始剤。例えば、t-ブチルヒドロペルオキシド、t-ブチルペルベンゾアート、ベンゾイルペルオキシド、t-ブチルペルオクトアート、クメンヒドロペルオキシド、メチルエチルケトンペルオキシド、ペルオキシケタール、およびオレフィン不飽和モノマーと熱硬化性樹脂との反応を触媒する当該分野で周知のこれら以外のもの。重合開始剤は、触媒有効量で用いられ、例えば、不飽和熱硬化性樹脂、熱可塑性添加剤および架橋モノマーの重量に基づいて0.3から3部で用いられる。
2.フィラー。例えば、クレー、アルミナトリハイドレート、シリカ、炭酸カルシウム、および当該分野で周知のこれら以外のもの。
3.成形リリース剤または潤滑剤。例えば、ステアリン酸亜鉛、ステアリン酸カルシウム、および当該分野で周知のこれら以外のもの。並びに、
4.水。
(i)不飽和熱硬化性樹脂、熱可塑性添加剤、および架橋モノマーの重量に基づいて20から60、好ましくは27から35重量部の不飽和ポリエステル及びエポキシド組成物;(ii) 不飽和熱硬化性樹脂、熱可塑性添加剤、エポキシド組成物、および架橋モノマーの重量に基づいて30から65、好ましくは47から55重量部の、前記不飽和ポリエステルと共重合可能なオレフィン性不飽和モノマー;
(iii)不飽和熱硬化性樹脂、熱可塑性添加剤、エポキシ組成物、および架橋モノマーの重量に基づいて5から25、好ましくは10から14重量部の、70000g/gモル以上、好ましくは80000g/gモル以上であって、かつ好ましくは250000g/gモル以下、さらに好ましくは200000g/gモル以下の重量平均分子量を備えたポリビニルアセタートホモポリマーまたはコポリマー;および
(iv)不飽和熱硬化性樹脂、熱可塑性添加剤、エポキシ組成物、および架橋モノマーの重量に基づいて2から10、好ましくは3から8重量部
を含む。
S342は、Alpha Owens Corning社から市販されている高反応性不飽和ポリエステルであり、自動車のSMCアプリケーションに用いた。
BMCはバルクモールディング組成物を指す。
CM-2015はPlasticolors, Inc., Ashtabula, Ohioから入手可能な35パーセントカーボンブラック顔料分散物である。
Modifier Eは、ジアリルフタラート中のパラベンゾキノンの5パーセント溶液である。 Luperox Pは、Elf Atochem North America, Philadelphia Pennsylvaniaから市販されているt-ブチルペルオキシベンゾアートの98パーセント溶液である。
VR-3は、Dow Chemical Company, Midland Michiganから市販されているSMC/BMCのための粘度低減剤である。
Maglite Dは、Marine Magnesium Companyから市販されているテクニカルグレードの酸化マグネシウムである。
LPAは低プロフィール添加剤を指す。
Neulon Gは、Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michiganから製造販売されるカルボキシル化ポリ(ビニルアセタート)である。
LP-90は、スチレン中に溶解したポリ(ビニルアセタート)ホモポリマーの40パーセント溶液であり、Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michiganから市販されている。
Hubercarb W4はJ.M.Huber Companyから市販されている5ミクロン粒径の炭酸カルシウムである。
SMCは、シートモールディングコンパウンドを指す。
SWIは、Diffracto LTD.から製造及び市販されているDiffracto D-sight audit stationによって測定される表面うねり指数を指す。
UPEは、不飽和ポリエステルを指す。
ONは、オキシラン数を指す。
A-ペーストは、熱硬化性樹脂、架橋モノマー、熱可塑性添加剤、重合開始剤、成形リリース剤、顔料、フィラー、その他の一部または全部を含む製剤の部分である。
B-ペーストは、ビヒクル、顔料、架橋モノマー、増粘剤、フィラーなどの一部または全部を含む製剤の部分である。
PPG 5509は、PPG Industriesから市販されている繊維ガラス強化剤である。
全ての液状成分を、Mettlerバランス上に配置した5ガロンのオープントップ容器に個別に秤量した。容器の中身を、高速Cowles型溶解装置を用いて混合した。この攪拌機は低速で開始した後に、中速まで加速して2−3分にわたって液体を完全に混合した。成形リリース剤をこの液体に加え、完全に分散するまで混合した。次いでフィラーを徐々に加え、一様のペーストを得て、中身を90F(32℃)までさらに混合した。増粘剤を2−3分にわたってこのペーストに混合した。このペーストを、シートモールディングコンパウンド(SMC)装置のドクターボックスに加えた。ここでペーストがキャリアーシート上のフィルムに計量供給され、さらに繊維ガラス(1インチ(2.54cm)ファイバー)と組み合わせられる。このシートモールディングコンパウンドを、モールディング粘度まで成熟させた。
表面評価用の平坦なパネルを、18”x18”(47x47cm)クロムプレートモールドの調和したダイセットを含む200トン(8181メートルトン)Lawtonプレスで成形した。くぼみが底部に設置され、オス部が上部に設けられる。両方のモールドがホットオイル加熱され、それらが異なる温度で操作されるように調節される。この成形では、上部及び底部の温度は295Fから305F(146℃から151℃)であった。モールディングコンパウンドの1200gサンプルを用いて、成形された部分の厚みは0.120”(.30cm)であった。成形圧(0から1000psi(0から6895kPa)の範囲をとりうる)は、最大圧で行った。このパネルを平坦な表面に置き、それらが平坦になるように重みをかけ、一晩冷却した。
表面の性質の測定は、Diffracto Co.,Ltdから製造販売されているDiffracto D-sight Audit Station-2で実施した。この装置で測定される表面うねり指数(SWI)は、長期うねりがゼロである完全に平坦なパネルの表面と比較した、長期うねりに関するパネル表面の標準偏差である。SWI数が小さいほど、パネルは滑らかである。
表1は、エポキシ化亜麻仁油、オクチルエポキシトーラート、及びこれらのブレンドを用いたSMC剤型を示す。表1では、全ての数値が重量部である。このSMCの調製において、72パーセントの記載の組成物を、28重量パーセントのPPG 5509ガラス繊維とブレンドした。B-Sideは、LP-90を29.90パーセント;スチレンを12.80パーセント;Maglite Dを9.90パーセント、CM-2015を0.50パーセント、およびHubercarb W4を46.90パーセント含む。表2は、Diffracto D-sight audit stationで測定した成形パネルの表面うねり指数を示す。エポキシ化合物の50/50ブレンドが、エポキシ化合物単独または他のブレンド比率よりも滑らかな表面(より低い表面うねり指数)を示した。

3.DER331の商品名でDow Chemical Companyから入手可能。EEWが182-192である標準的、未稀釈、低分子量の液状エポキシ樹脂である。
4.DER332の商品名でDow Chemical Companyから入手可能。低エポキシド等価物重量、高純度のビスフェノールAのジグリシジルエーテル。低い粘度および色で、EEWが171-175である。
5.FLEXOL LOEの商品名でDow Chemical Companyから入手可能。
6.ERL-4221の商品名でDow Chemical Companyから入手可能な3,4-エポキシシクロヘキシルメチル3,4-エポキシシクロヘキサン-カルボキシラート。
7.DER383の商品名でDow Chemical Companyから入手可能。EEWが176-183である低粘度の液状エポキシ樹脂である。
8.DER330の商品名でDow Chemical Companyから入手可能。EEWが176-185である低粘度、未稀釈、低エポキシド等価物重量の液状エポキシ樹脂である。
EEWとは、エポキシ等価物重量を意味する。
Claims (11)
- エポキシ樹脂組成物、熱可塑性ポリマーを含む熱可塑性添加剤、および前記熱可塑性添加剤およびエポキシ組成物を溶解可能な化合物、を含む不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤であって、
前記エポキシ樹脂組成物が、エポキシ化植物油、エポキシ化アルキルエステル、および脂環式エポキシドから選択される2以上のエポキシド組成物のブレンドを含むか、または、エポキシ化アルキルエステルおよび脂環式エポキシドから選択される一以上のエポキシド組成物と、芳香族エポキシドおよびポリオキシアルキレンエポキシドから選択された一以上のエポキシド組成物とのブレンドを含むエポキシ樹脂組成物である、不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。 - エポキシ樹脂組成物、熱可塑性ポリマーを含む熱可塑性添加剤、および前記熱可塑性添加剤およびエポキシ組成物を溶解可能な化合物、を含む不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤であって、
前記エポキシ樹脂組成物が、エポキシ化植物油、エポキシ化アルキルエステル、または脂環式エポキシドから選択された、2以上のエポキシドを含む組成物のブレンドを含むか、または、一以上のエポキシ化植物油、エポキシ化アルキルエステル、または脂環式エポキシドと、一以上の芳香族エポキシドまたはエポキシ官能化ポリオキシアルキレンポリオールとのブレンドを含むエポキシ樹脂組成物である、不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。 - 前記エポキシドの全重量に基づいて25から75重量パーセントの第一のエポキシド組成物と、前記エポキシド組成物の重量に基づいて25から75重量パーセントの第二のエポキシド組成物とを含む、請求項1または2に記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。
- 前記エポキシ組成物の一つがエポキシ化植物油である、請求項1ないし3のいずれか一項に記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。
- 前記第二のエポキシド組成物がエポキシ化アルキルエステルまたは脂環式エポキシドである、請求項3記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。
- 8.8以下のオキシラン数と1000cps(1.0Pa.s)以下の粘度とを有する、請求項1ないし5のいずれか一項に記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。
- 前記熱可塑性添加剤およびエポキシ組成物を溶解可能な化合物が、不飽和熱硬化性樹脂と共重合可能な架橋モノマーである、請求項6記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。
- 前記熱可塑性添加剤が12から35重量部の量で存在し、前記エポキシ組成物が1から25重量部の量で存在し、かつ、前記架橋モノマーが40から87重量部の量で存在し、全体として100重量部である、請求項7記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤。
- a)一以上の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂;
b)一以上の架橋モノマー;および
c)請求項1ないし8のいずれか一項に記載の不飽和熱硬化性樹脂組成物の表面向上剤、
を含む熱硬化性樹脂組成物。 - 前記表面向上剤が、100部の成分a)、b)およびc)のうち25から45部で含まれる、請求項9に記載の熱硬化性樹脂組成物。
- 成形された物の表面が、c)を含まない成形物と比較して改善された表面の滑らかさを有する、請求項9または10に記載の熱硬化性樹脂組成物を含む成形物。
