Description
この発明の目的は、負荷変動の大きい運転条件で使用され、かつ電力変換器を使用している高出力の回転電機システムにおいて、小型で、冷却性に優れ、かつ信頼性の高い空冷機構を備えた高出力の回転電機システムを提供することにある。
また、本発明では、主回転機の電機子巻線の周波数を検知してファンモータの電機子巻線の通電を制御する通電制御素子を設置している。この構成により、ファンモータの回転抑制や促進の制御が可能となり、低速回転域で高出力時には冷却性を高め、高速回転域で低負荷時には無駄にファンモータを駆動するロスを防止できる。
請求項2の発明では、半導体電力変換器は整流回路であり、ファンモータの電機子巻線の各相は、主回転機の電機子巻線の各相と接続されており、相互結線を持たず、主回転機の整流回路とは異なるダイオードの三相ブリッジに各相が独立して接続され、ファンモータの通電制御は、三相ブリッジの正負端子に接続された通電制御素子を有する通電制御回路によりなされる。この構成では、1つの通電制御素子で単方向への通電制御がなされるため、簡素な構成で制御性のよい空冷機構が得られる。
請求項4の発明では、主回転機の極数をファンモータの極数より多く設定するとともに、ファンモータはその作動の一部において非同期モータとしている。この構成では、交流励磁を行う電機子周波数が高い場合、すなわち高速回転においてファンモータが過回転になることを防止できる。このため、前述の極数の比率を大きく設定でき、低速回転でのファン冷却能力が確保できる。
請求項6の発明では、ファンモータを支持する支持体(ケーシング)を樹脂製とするとともに、半導体電力変換器の外周を包む筒状カバーと一体化する構造としている。この構造の採用により、空冷機構を全体として小型化できるとともに、電機子巻線やその端子が配列された半導体電力変換器の直近に設置するので、電気的接続は簡素となり、冷却性も向上する。このため、低コスト、省スペース、かつ高信頼性が同時に達成できる。
請求項8の発明では、ファンモータの支持体を樹脂で形成し、半導体電力変換器のカバーとを一体成形するとともに、ファン羽根部の外周を包む通風ダクトを一体成形している。この構成では、ファン羽根部への水、塵芥、小石などの吸込みを防止でき、信頼性を向上できる。
上記実施例では、ファンモータ5は整流回路(三相ブリッジ)4を覆うリアカバーを兼ねた樹脂製ケーシング60を具備しているが、ケーシング60は、車外ないしエンジンルーム外から冷却空気を直接に取り入れる通風用ダクトを兼ねる構造であってもよい。これにより、冷却効果を向上できるとともに、ファンモータ5への外部水や塵埃や小石などの吸込みを防止でき、信頼性を向上できる。また、電機子巻線25は三相一組の巻線であったが、二重星型デュアルスロットの巻線、すなわち三相が複数組であってもよい。さらに、電機子冷却ファン16は電動ファンではないが、電機子冷却ファン16を電動ファンとし、ファンの電力を電機子自身から引いてもよい。

Claims (9)
- 回転子の外周に電機子を配した主回転機と、該主回転機に付設された半導体電力変換器と、該半導体電力変換器を冷却する空冷機構とを有する回転電機システムにおいて、
前記空冷機構は、前記主回転機の電機子巻線により交流励磁されて駆動されるファンモータと、前記主回転機の電機子巻線の周波数を検知して前記ファンモータの電機子巻線の通電を制御する通電制御素子とを有することを特徴とする回転電機システム。 - 請求項1に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、
前記半導体電力変換器は整流回路であり、
前記ファンモータの電機子巻線の各相は、前記主回転機の電機子巻線の各相と接続されており、相互結線を持たず、前記主回転機の前記整流回路とは異なるダイオードの三相ブリッジに各相が独立して接続され、
前記ファンモータの通電制御は、前記三相ブリッジの正負端子に接続された前記通電制御素子を有する通電制御回路によりなされることを特徴とする回転電機システム。 - 請求項1または2に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記主回転機の前記電機子巻線の極数は、前記ファンモータのモータ極数より多いことを特徴とする回転電機システム。
- 請求項3に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記ファンモータの回転数は、少なくとも一部において非同期であることを特徴とする回転電機システム。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記ファンモータは、前記半導体電力変換器の放熱部に近接するとともに、該放熱部の略全体をファン羽根部が覆う配置であることを特徴とする回転電機システム。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれか1に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記ファンモータは、前記半導体電力変換器を収容するカバーを兼ねた樹脂製ケーシングを備えることを特徴とする回転電機システム。
- 請求項6に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記主回転機の電機子巻線と、前記ファンモータの電機子巻線とは、弾性支持接点により電気接続されていることを特徴とする回転電機システム。
- 請求項6に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記ケーシングには、前記ファンモータの通風ダクトが一体成形されていることを特徴とする回転電機システム。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか1に記載の回転電機システムにおいて、前記主回転機の電機子と、前記半導体電力変換器とは、別の筐体に収容されており、前記半導体電力変換器を収容した筐体に前記ファンモータを付設して冷却することを特徴とする回転電機システム。
