【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、潤滑グリース組成
物に関し、特に玉軸受用潤滑グリース組成物に関する。

【従来の技術】従来、軸受、特にコンピュータのハード
ディスク、CD−R等の記録装置のスピンドルモータの
玉軸受用のグリースとしては、ジオクチルセバケート、
ペンタエリスリトールエステル等のエステル油を基油と
し、リチウムステアレート、リチウムヒドロキシステア
レート等を増ちょう剤としたものが使用されている。し
かし、近年記録密度の増大による軸受精度の向上や回転
数の増加による使用温度の上昇等により、軸受の音響寿
命に不足が見られてきた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】従って、本発明の目的
は、従来のグリースより摩擦係数が低く、軸受に使用し
た場合、音響寿命の長い潤滑グリース組成物、特に玉軸
受用の潤滑グリース組成物を提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、基油と増ちょ
う剤を含有する潤滑グリース組成物において、基油の5
0〜100重量%が下記式(1)で表される炭酸エステ
ル化合物であることを特徴とする潤滑グリース組成物を
提供するものである。 (1) R1 O−CO−OR2 式中、R1 及びR2 は独立して、炭素数6〜30の飽和
又は不飽和の、直鎖又は分岐アルキル基を表す。本発明
において増ちょう剤としては、リチウム石けん、ナトリ
ウム石けん、カルシウム石けん、アルミニウム石けん、
これらのコンプレックス石けん、及びウレア化合物から
なる群から選ばれるものが好ましい。本発明の潤滑グリ
ース組成物は、特にスピンドルモータの玉軸受用潤滑グ
リース組成物として好ましい。

【発明の実施の形態】本発明の潤滑グリース組成物の基
油として使用される式(1)で表される炭酸エステル化
合物として好ましいものは、R1 及びR2 が独立して、
炭素数7〜25の飽和又は不飽和の、分岐アルキル基を
表すものである。分岐アルキル基として好ましいもの
は、−CH2 CHR3 4 で表されるものである。この
式においてR3 は、炭素数1〜7の飽和直鎖アルキル
基、R4 は、炭素数4〜12の飽和直鎖アルキル基を表
す。特に好ましいものは、R3 とR4 の炭素数の和が1
1〜13であるものである。本発明の潤滑グリース組成
物において、式(1)で表される炭酸エステル化合物
は、基油の50〜100重量%、好ましくは60〜10
0重量%、更に好ましくは70〜100重量%の量で使
用される。
【0006】また式(1)で表される炭酸エステル化合
物と併用してもよい基油としては、ポリオールエステル
油等のエステル系合成油、アルキルジフェニルエーテル
等のエーテル系合成油、ポリアルファ−オレフィン等の
合成炭化水素油、パラフィン系鉱油等の鉱物油が挙げら
れる。本発明に使用する増ちょう剤は、好ましくは、リ
チウム石けん、ナトリウム石けん、カルシウム石けん、
アルミニウム石けん、これらのコンプレックス石けん、
及びウレア化合物からなる群から選ばれる。リチウム石
けん、例えば、ステアリン酸リチウムや12−ヒドロキシ
ステアリン酸リチウム等が特に好ましい。ウレア系増ち
ょう剤としては、例えば、脂肪族又は脂環式ジウレア化
合物、ポリウレア化合物が挙げられる。増ちょう剤の使
用量は、グリース全体に対して3〜30重量%が適当で
あり、5〜25重量%がさらに好ましい。本発明のグリ
ースは、上記成分に加えて、酸化防止剤、錆止め剤、防
食剤等の汎用の添加剤を含有することができる。

【実施例】次に本発明を実施例及び比較例により説明す
る。 実施例1及び比較例1 表1に示す基油に増ちょう剤を加えて攪拌し、グリース
を製造した。表中のグリース成分の数値は重量部であ
る。各グリースについて、混和ちょう度及び音響寿命を
測定した。結果を表1に示す。 音響寿命試験 軸受:内径5mm、外径9mm、幅4mmの玉軸受 グリース封入量:10mg 外輪回転数:12,000rpm 雰囲気温度:70℃ アキシャル荷重:2kgf 評価方法 試験前と連続回転試験2,000 時間後の、玉軸受の加速度
振動値(G値)を、以下の基準で評価した。 ◎:試験後のG値が、試験前のG値と殆ど同じ。 ○:試験後のG値が、試験前のG値の1.5倍以下。 △:試験後のG値が、試験前のG値の2.0倍以下。 ×:試験後のG値が、試験前のG値の2.0倍より大き
い。

【0010】上記結果は、本発明のグリースが、従来の
ペンタエリスリトールエステル油を基油とするグリース
と比較して、音響寿命に優れていることを示している。

Claims (6)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 基油と、増ちょう剤としてのウレア化合
    物とを含有する潤滑グリース組成物であって、前記基油
    が、該基油の全重量に基づいて、50〜100重量%の
    炭酸エステル化合物を含有し、前記炭酸エステル化合物
    が、式(1)、 R1 −O−CO−OR2 (1) (式中、R1 及びR2 は、独立して、炭素数6〜30の
    飽和又は不飽和の、直鎖又は分岐アルキル基を表す。)
    で示され、かつ前記ウレア化合物の量が、前記グリース
    組成物の全重量に基づいて、3〜30重量%であること
    を特徴とする潤滑グリース組成物。
  2. 【請求項2】 前記R1及びR2が、独立して、炭素数7
    〜25の飽和又は不飽和の分岐アルキル基である請求項
    1記載の潤滑グリース組成物。
  3. 【請求項3】 前記分岐アルキル基が、CH2CHR3
    4で示され、前記R3が、炭素数1〜7の飽和直鎖アルキ
    ル基であり、前記R4が、炭素数4〜12の飽和直鎖ア
    ルキル基であり、R3及びR4の全炭素数が11〜13で
    ある請求項2記載の潤滑グリース組成物。
  4. 【請求項4】 前記炭酸エステル化合物の量が、前記基
    油の全重量に基づいて、60〜100重量%である請求
    項1〜3のいずれか1項記載の潤滑グリース組成物。
  5. 【請求項5】 前記炭酸エステル化合物の量が、前記基
    油の全重量に基づいて、70〜100重量%である請求
    1〜4のいずれか1項記載の潤滑グリース組成物。
  6. 【請求項6】 前記ウレア化合物の量が、グリース組成
    物の全重量に基づいて、5〜25重量%である請求項1
    〜5のいずれか1項記載潤滑グリース組成物。
