Abstract
Description

さまざまな実施形態は、処理コストを劇的に削減し、関連する健康被害を軽減するために、例えば、現在の系の幅広い適用性を維持しながら、低蒸気圧で、VOC排出を制限する改良エポキシの化学作用の発明者による実現に基づいている。本開示は、概して、異なる実施形態によれば、組み合わされると反応して高強度、多用途および/または付加機能性エポキシ系熱硬化性樹脂を形成する反応性イオン性液体の系をさまざまに提供する技術およびメカニズムに関する。これらのエポキシ系は、前述のVOCガス放出の問題を解決する。

スキーム2は、本明細書で開示される実施形態によるエポキシ系の硬化剤化合物を合成するための例示的な反応を示している。そのような反応は、例えば、スキーム1に示したように、硬化剤化合物Hのいくつかまたはすべての製造に寄与することができる。
スキーム3は、本明細書で開示される実施形態によるスキーム1に示したように、アニオン性分子構造(Z1-R2-Z2)を含むエポキシ化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の例を示している。示したように、ホスフィネートジエポキシ酸の合成は、改良されたアルブゾフ反応を使用して起こすことができる。スキーム3に示した反応例では、酸性化合物(9)をテトラアキルホスホニウムヒドロキシドで中和して、対応するホスホニウムイオン性液体を得る。式中、R5は、アルキルであることができ、例えば、1~16個の炭素原子、例えば、1、2、3、4、5、6、7、8、9、10、11、12、13、14、15、または16の炭素原子を有するアルキルであることができる。
スキーム4は、本明細書で開示される実施形態によるスキーム1に示したようなアニオン性分子構造(Z1-R2-Z2)を含むエポキシ化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の別の例を示している。より具体的には、スキーム4は、モノマー構造へのイオン性部分の付加によるビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテル(2,2-ビス[4-(グリシジルオキシ)フェニル]プロパン)類似体の合成を示している(スキーム4)。
スキーム5は、本明細書で開示される実施形態によるスキーム1に示したようなアニオン性分子構造(Z1-R2-Z2)を含むエポキシ化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の別の例を示している。スキーム5の例示的なジグリシジル化反応において、4-ヒドロキシ-γ-(4-ヒドロキシフェニル)-γ-メチル-メチルエステルベンゼンブタン酸(10)は、100℃で15分間、塩基性条件で、エピクロロヒドリン(11)と反応する。そのような反応は、γ-メチル-4-(2-オキシラニルメトキシ)-γ-[4-(2-オキシラニルメトキシ)フェニル]-、メチルエステルベンゼンブタン酸(12)の90%を超える収率をもたらすことができる。そのような反応の1つから生じる材料のプロトンNMR分析を図2に示す。図2は、化合物(12)が主成分であることを示唆している特徴的なピークを示している。
スキーム6は、本明細書で開示される実施形態によるスキーム1に示したようなアニオン性分子構造(Z1-R2-Z2)を含むエポキシ化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の別の例を示している。スキーム6に示した反応は、例えば、スキーム5に示した反応から継続することができる。
スキーム7は、本明細書で開示される実施形態によるスキーム1に示したようなアニオン性分子構造(Z1-R2-Z2)を含むエポキシ化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の別の例を示している。スキーム7に示した反応は、例えば、スキーム6に示した反応から継続することができる。化合物(13)のエポキシ基を損傷する可能性を軽減するために、等モル量のテトラブチルホスホニウムヒドロキシド(14)を使用して、メタノール中で、イオン性液体の形成を行って、ベンゼンブタン酸プロトンを中和し(スキーム7)、次いで、迅速に、MeOH(混合時間15分)および真空(30mmHg)下、45℃で4時間、生成水を除去し、室温および全真空で24時間乾燥させた。そのようなプロセスの試験運転では、暗い黄色の粘性液体が得られた。
スキーム8は、脂肪族性のエポキシ化合物である、2,2-ビス(グリシジルオキシメチル)プロピオン酸のテトラブチルホスホニウム塩(21)を合成するプロセスにおける反応の例を示している。合成経路には3つの工程が含まれる:すなわち、NaOHを含むトルエン中において、臭化アリル(17)による市販の2,2-ビス(ヒドロキシメチル)プロピオン酸(16)のアルキル化。この反応は、完了するために一晩の還流を必要とし、90%の収率でジアリル中間体(18)を生成する。生成物は、極めて純粋であり、次の工程のためにさらに精製する必要はない。オレフィン中間体(18)のエポキシド(20)への酸化は、m-クロロ過安息香酸(19)を用いて、室温で一晩、標準的な方法によって行った。この方法では、面倒なカラム精製が必要であるが、90%の収率でエポキシ化生成物(20)が得られる。標的イオン性液体エポキシ樹脂(21)の形成は、スキーム7の化合物(15)について記載したのと同様の方法によって、等モル量のテトラブチルホスホニウムヒドロキシド(14)を含むメタノール中で行った。
スキーム9は、正に帯電した複素環式コアを有するエポキシ化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の例を示している。そのようなエポキシイオン性樹脂は、負に帯電した硬化剤(スキーム1の2行目)または同様に正の硬化剤(スキーム1の3行目)のいずれかと反応することができる。両方の正に帯電した成分の場合(3行目)、ABタイプの追加のイオン性液体は形成されず、それは、ある特定の特性にとって役立つ可能性がある。
スキーム10は、実施形態によるエポキシ系の硬化剤化合物を合成するプロセスにおける反応の例を示している。この例示的な実施形態では、新規の硬化剤は、ポリマー鎖間の架橋を促進するために、多分岐構造を有することを意図している。N1,N1-ビス(2-アミノエチル)-1,2-エタンジアミン(化合物26、スキーム10)を、室温条件下で一晩撹拌しながら、BOC(例えば、tert-ブチルオキシカルボニル)保護基を使用して保護した。次いで、保護された化合物(28)を、一晩撹拌しながら、アセトニトリル還流において、120℃でヨウ化メチルを使用してアルキル化し、そのアルキル化反応を、(28)が完全に消費されるまでTLCによって追跡し、溶剤および過剰のMeI(ヨウ化メチル)を、45°~50℃および30mmHgで4時間、回転蒸発によって除去し、続いて室温および全真空で乾燥させた。MeIアルキル化剤を選択したのは、試薬が入手し易いためであるが、選択されるオプションはいくつかあり、最終的な選択は、エポキシ樹脂系全体の特性を改変するために使用され得る、ことに言及するのは重要である。HCl-ジオキサン溶液を使用してBOC保護を除去し、NaOHを使用して残りの酸を中和した。この工程の後、LiTFSIの水溶液中でのイオン性液体の複分解によって最終イオン性液体が得られ、無機塩は、ナノ純水による数回洗浄ならびに50℃および15mmHgでの4時間の回転蒸発によって除去した。化合物(30)2-アミノ-N,N-ビス(2-アミノエチル)-N-メチル-エタンアミニウムビス(トリフルオロメタン)スルホンアミドが、粘稠な白色液体として得られ、それを室温および完全真空下にて24時間乾燥させた。
以下、スキーム11および12は、ポリマー鎖間の架橋を促進するように意図された多分岐硬化剤化合物の2つの追加の特定の例を示している。
スキーム13は、実施形態によるエポキシ系のための改質剤(例えば、促進剤または触媒)の合成を容易にする反応の例を示している。そのような促進剤/触媒は、スキーム1に示した反応を促進することができる。
図4は、実施形態による、エポキシ系の例を示しており、スキーム1に示した特徴のうちのいくつかまたは全部を含む。より具体的には、図4は、無溶剤エポキシ樹脂(ジエポキシホスフィネートテトラブチルホスホニウム)および硬化剤(ジメチルアミンイミダゾリウムブロミド)を含む系の一例を示している。そのような系の重合反応が完了すると、副生成物として得られるイオン性液体は、テトラブチルホスホニウムブロミドを含むことができ、それは次に、例えば、重合したホスフィネート/ジメチルアミンイミダゾリウムネットワークの可塑剤として使用することができる。
図19は、開示される実施形態によるエポキシ材料、例えばスキーム1に示したような反応によって形成されたエポキシ材料を含む、自己修復ポリマーの例を示している。自己修復ポリマーは、引っかき傷、刺し傷、または亀裂などの機械的損傷からそれ自体を修復することができる材料である。機械的損傷の形成後に反応するモノマー材料と触媒とで満たされたマイクロカプセルの形成で最も使用される自己修復特性をポリマーに付与するいくつかのメカニズムが存在する。しかしながら、イオノマー鎖からなるポリマー材料も存在し、修復プロセスは、ポリマー構造中に存在する電荷の静電引力を促進する。図19は、この種の系のための修復プロセスの断面図を示している。
図20は、開示される実施形態によるエポキシ材料、例えば、スキーム1に示したような反応によって形成されたエポキシ材料を含む、フィルムの例を示している。
実施形態において、開示されるイオン性液体は、イオン性熱硬化性架橋剤として使用される。例えば、いくつかの実施形態では、表1に提供した構造を有する分子は、IT架橋剤として使用される。開示されるイオン性液体は、さまざまな工業的用途のためのイオン性熱硬化性架橋剤として使用され得ると考えられる。いくつかの特定の実施形態では、IT架橋剤は、無溶剤イオン性液体エポキシ樹脂(SILER)とともにバッテリーセパレータの構築に使用される。イオン伝導性は、これらの材料にとって必須の特性である。図21A~23は、IT架橋剤として使用される開示の組成物の能力を実証する研究を示している。最初に、IT架橋剤で改変され、追加のイオン性液体を含有するSILERポリマーのいくつかの試料を、電気化学的インピーダンス分光法によって試験した。完全なポリマー試料を、2つのZnプレートの間に配置し、カスタマイズされたハンドプレスを使用して厚さを調整し、GAMRYポテンシオスタットに接続した。ポリマー試料は、同じ基本配合(それぞれ10:9:1のモル比のイミダゾリウムBF4樹脂、イミダゾリウムブロミド硬化剤、および臭化テトライミダゾリウム架橋剤)を有し、20%m/mの追加イオン性液体で改変して、材料の導電性を改善した。確実に完全に重合させるために、ポリマー試料を60℃で一晩硬化させた。プロトン伝導性を測定するために、ジエチルメチルアンモニウムトリフレート(DEMATF)を1つの試料に添加し、もう1つの試料は、トリブチルオクチルホスホニウムブロミド中0.2M塩化亜鉛を有し、市販の亜鉛電池に見出される典型的な濃度を模倣する。3つの試料を、リチウム電池で使用されるさまざまなリチウム化合物で、すなわち、リチウムビス(トリフルオロメタン)スルホンアミド(LiTFSI、0.2M)、炭酸リチウム(LiCO3、1M)、およびトリブチルオクチルホスホニウムブロミド中ヘキサフルオロリン酸リチウム(LiPF6、1M)で改変した。得られた電気化学的インピーダンススペクトルを図21A~21Eに示した。イオン性熱硬化性ポリマー試料に関する昇順の導電性は、DEMATF<ZnCl2<LiTFSI<LiCO3<LiPF6であった。切片でのZ’値は、最も適合する半円方程式によって推定し、対応する導電率は、各試料の特定の幾何学的寸法を使用して計算し、以下の表2に示してある。LiPF6を1Mを含有するポリマーに関する導電率は、DEMATFを有するものよりも3桁大きい(表2を参照されたい)。従来のエポキシポリマーは、同様の導電率を有するために、40~60%の範囲のイオン性液体含有量に達する必要があり、60~20重量パーセントへの減少は、非イオン性エポキシ材料を超える、イオン伝導性に対するIT構造の利点を示唆していることに留意するのは興味深い。
Claims (58)
- 分子構造(R1-(Y1)n)(式中、R1はイオン性部分であり、Y1は求核基であり、nは2~10である)およびR1に対する対イオンとして作用するイオン性部分Aを含む硬化剤化合物Hと、
分子構造(R2-Z1)n)(式中、R2はイオン性部分であり、Z1はエポキシド基を含み、nは2~10である)およびR2に対する対イオンとして作用するイオン性部分Bを含むエポキシ化合物Eと、を含む、低溶剤または無溶剤のエポキシ系。 - 前記エポキシ化合物Eが、無溶剤イオン性液体である、請求項1に記載のエポキシ系。
- Y1が、独立して、NH2基、SH基、OH基、SeH基、およびPH2基から選択される求核試薬を含む、請求項1または2に記載のエポキシ系。
- 前記硬化剤化合物Hが、無溶剤イオン性液体である、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載のエポキシ系。
- 前記硬化剤化合物が、表1ならびに図4、5、6、7、8、10A~10Cおよび17A~17Dに示した1つ以上の硬化剤化合物から選択される、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載のエポキシ系。
- 前記エポキシ化合物が、表1ならびに図4、5、6、7、8、10Eおよび17A~17Dに示した1つ以上のエポキシ化合物から選択される、請求項5に記載のエポキシ系。
- 前記硬化剤化合物が、1,3,5-トリス[1-(2’-アミノエチル)-2-メチル-1H-イミダゾール-3-イウムメチレン(iummethylene)]ベンゼントリブロミドである、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載のエポキシ系。
- 前記エポキシ化合物が、テトラキス[1-(2’-アミノエチル)-2-メチル-1H-イミダゾール-3-イウムメチル]メタンテトラブロミドである、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載のエポキシ系。
- 促進剤、架橋剤、可塑剤、または抑制剤のうちの1つ以上をさらに含む、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載のエポキシ系。
- 前記促進剤、前記架橋剤、前記可塑剤、または前記抑制剤が、図10D、10F~10Iおよび16A~16Fに示した1つ以上の促進剤、架橋剤、可塑剤、または抑制剤から選択される、請求項9に記載のエポキシ系。
