Abstract
Description
本出願は、2020年1月3日付の韓国特許出願第10-2020-0000767号に基づく優先権の利益を主張し、当該韓国特許出願の文献に開示されたすべての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
集電体の少なくとも一面に正極活物質を含む正極合剤が形成された二次電池用正極であって、
前記正極は、リチウム副産物を正極合剤の全重量を基準として下記式1を満たすように含み、
前記正極は、半分に曲げて直径別測定棒を接触させた後、正極の両端を持ち上げる柔軟性テストの際、直径2mm以上の測定棒でクラックが発生する硬化度を有する正極が提供される。

Ni:Co:Mnが60:20:20のモル比でそれぞれ含まれている水和物前駆体を、LiOHと1:1.05のモル比で混合した後、焼成炉で800℃で14時間焼成してLiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2の正極材を製造した。
Ni:Co:Mnが80:10:10のモル比でそれぞれ含まれている水和物前駆体を、LiOHと1:1.05のモル比で混合した後、焼成炉で750℃で10時間焼成してLiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2の正極材を製造した。
製造例1で製造されたリチウム遷移金属酸化物を正極活物質として用い、バインダーとしてPVDFおよび導電材としてSuper‐Pを用いて、正極活物質:バインダー:導電材を重量比96:2:2となるようにNMPに添加した活物質スラリーを250μmにAl箔にコーティング、空気雰囲気下、130℃の乾燥機で乾燥した後、圧延して予備正極を製造した。
実施例1で製造された前記予備正極を25℃、35%RHの雰囲気下でリチウム副産物の含有量が5000ppmになるまで露出させた後、再び130℃の乾燥機で乾燥して最終正極を製造した。
実施例1における正極活物質として、製造例2で製造されたリチウム遷移金属酸化物を用いて予備正極を製造し、前記予備正極を25℃、35%RHの雰囲気下でリチウム副産物の含有量が5000ppmとなるようにしたことを除けば、実施例1と同様に最終正極を製造した。
製造例1で製造されたリチウム遷移金属酸化物を25℃、50%RHの雰囲気下でリチウム副産物の含有量が6000ppmになるまで露出させた後、再び240℃の乾燥機で乾燥して正極活物質粉末を得た。
実施例1で製造された前記予備正極を25℃、50%RHの雰囲気下でリチウム副産物の含有量が9000ppmになるまで露出させた後、再び130℃の乾燥機で乾燥して最終正極を製造した。
実施例1で製造された前記予備正極を25℃、35%RHの雰囲気下でリチウム副産物の含有量が3000ppmになるまで露出させた後、再び130℃の乾燥機で乾燥して最終正極を製造した。
実施例1における正極活物質として、製造例2で製造されたリチウム遷移金属酸化物を用いて予備正極を製造し、前記予備正極を25℃、35%RHの雰囲気下でリチウム副産物の含有量が2000ppmとなるようにしたことを除けば、実施例1と同様に最終正極を製造した。
前記実施例1~5、および比較例1~2で製造された最終正極の柔軟性を測定して、その結果を下記表1に示した。このうち、代表として実施例1および比較例1の結果写真を図1~2に示した。
前記実施例1、3~5、および比較例1~2で製造された最終正極を用いた。
前記実施例1~5、および比較例1~2で製造された最終正極と、対極として、リチウムメタルを用いて製造されたコインハーフセルを、3.0~4.3Vの電圧範囲で0.1Cレートの電流条件で初期サイクルを進行させた時の最初のサイクルの放電容量を、前記実施例1の予備正極を用いて製造したコインハーフセルの最初の放電容量と比較して容量減少率を測定した。その結果を下記表3に示した。

- 集電体の少なくとも一面に正極活物質を含む正極合剤が形成された二次電池用正極であって、
前記正極は、リチウム副産物を正極合剤の全重量を基準として下記式1を満たすように含み、
前記正極は、半分に曲げて直径別測定棒を接触させた後、正極の両端を持ち上げる柔軟性テストの際、直径2mm以上の測定棒でクラックが発生する硬化度を有し、

(e)前記活物質スラリーを集電体の少なくとも一面に塗布、乾燥、および圧延して電極を形成する過程;
を含む正極の製造方法。 - 請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の正極を製造する方法であって、
(a’)リチウムの吸蔵および放出が可能な正極活物質を製造する過程;
(b’)前記正極活物質、バインダー、および導電材を溶媒下で混合して活物質スラリーを製造する過程;
(c’)前記活物質スラリーを集電体の少なくとも一面に塗布、乾燥、および圧延して予備電極を形成する過程;
(d’)前記予備電極を大気下で水分環境に露出させて水分が含有された予備電極を製造する過程;および
(e’)前記水分が含有された予備電極を乾燥して最終電極を製造する過程;
を含む正極の製造方法。 - 前記水分環境は、30%RH以上の環境である、請求項6または7に記載の正極の製造方法。
- 過程(b)または過程(d’)の水分環境への露出は、35%RH以上の環境でリチウム副産物の含有量が下記式1を満たすまで露出するものであり、

Aは、正極活物質に含まれる遷移金属の総モルを1とした時の、Niのモル含有量であり、Bは、リチウム副産物の含有量であり、
前記Aが0.5以下の場合には、Bの最小値が6000ppmである、請求項6または7に記載の正極の製造方法。 - 請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の正極と、負極と、前記正極と前記負極との間に介在する分離膜とを含む電極組立体が電池ケースに内蔵されて電解液に含浸されている二次電池。
