Claims (40)
- 無機炭素化合物および/または1個のみの炭素原子を含有する有機化合物から有機化学品への回収および変換のための生物化学法であって、
無機炭素化合物および/または1個のみの炭素原子を含有する有機化合物を、酸水素微生物の保持に好適なおよび/または酸水素微生物の抽出物の保持が可能な環境中に導入することと、
前記環境内で、前記酸水素微生物および/または前記酸水素微生物由来の酵素を含有する細胞抽出物を利用した少なくとも1種の化学合成炭素固定反応を介して、前記無機炭素化合物および/または1個のみの炭素原子を含有する前記有機化合物を前記有機化学品および/またはその前駆体に変換することと、
を含み、
前記化学合成固定反応が、少なくとも部分的には、化学的および/もしくは電気化学的に生成されたならびに/または前記環境外の少なくとも1つの外部源から前記環境内に導入された電子供与体および電子受容体により提供された化学的および/または電気化学的エネルギーにより駆動される、上記方法。 - 無機炭素化合物が二酸化炭素を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 電子供与体が、次の還元剤、すなわち、アンモニア、アンモニウム、一酸化炭素、亜ジチオン酸塩、単体硫黄、炭化水素、水素、メタ重亜硫酸塩、酸化窒素、亜硝酸塩、たとえば、チオ硫酸ナトリウム(Na2S2O3)またはチオ硫酸カルシウム(CaS2O3)が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではないチオ硫酸塩などの硫酸塩、硫化水素などの硫化物、亜硫酸塩、チオン酸塩、亜チオン酸、溶解相中または固相中の遷移金属またはその硫化物、酸化物、カルコゲン化物、ハロゲン化物、水酸化物、オキシ水酸化物、リン酸塩、硫酸塩、または炭酸塩、ならび固体電極材料中の伝導帯電子または価電子帯電子のうちの1または2以上を含むが、これらに限定されるものではない、請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 電子受容体が、次のもの、すなわち、二酸化炭素、酸素、亜硝酸塩、硝酸塩、第二鉄イオンもしくは他の遷移金属イオン、硫酸塩、または固体電極材料中の価電子帯正孔もしくは伝導帯正孔のうちの1または2以上を含む、請求項1~13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 変換工程の前に、電子供与体および/または電子受容体を、少なくとも1種の投入化学品から生成および/もしくは精製し、ならびに/または固定工程時に生成された化学品および/もしくは他の工業プロセス、鉱業プロセス、農業プロセス、下水プロセス、もしくは廃棄物発生プロセスからの廃棄物ストリームに由来する化学品から再循環させる、1まはた2以上の化学的前処理工程が行われる、請求項1~14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 変換工程の後に、化学合成の有機および/または無機の化学生成物を、変換工程時に生成されたプロセスストリームから分離して、貯蔵、輸送、および販売に好適な形態で生成物を生成するように処理する、1または2以上のプロセス工程、さらには細胞塊を、前記プロセスストリームから分離して環境に再循環し、および/または捕集して、貯蔵、輸送、および販売に好適な形態でバイオマスを生成するように処理する、1または2以上のプロセス工程が行われる、請求項1~15のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 変換工程の後に、廃棄生成物および/または不純物および/または汚染物質を、固定工程時に生成されたプロセスストリームから除去して廃棄処分する、1または2以上のプロセス工程が行われる、請求項1~16のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 廃棄生成物が、酸水素反応を維持するために使用される栄養培地からの廃棄生成物を含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 変換工程の後に、化学合成の酸水素細胞塊および/もしくは化学併産物ならびに/または固定工程時に生成されたプロセスストリームの廃棄生成物もしくは汚染物質を除去した後に残存する任意の未使用栄養素および/またはプロセス水を再循環させて、さらなる化学合成を支援すべく、環境中に戻す、1または2以上プロセス工程が行われる、請求項1~18のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 電子供与体および/または電子受容体が、再生可能パワー源、代替パワー源、または温室効果ガス排出の少ない従来パワー源を用いて、生成または再循環され、かつパワー源が、光起電力、太陽熱、風力、水力電力、原子力、地熱、強化地熱、海洋熱、波浪力、および潮力の少なくとも1つから選択される、請求項1~19のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 電子供与体が、次のもの、すなわち、単体Fe0、菱鉄鉱(FeCO3)、磁鉄鉱(Fe3O4)、黄鉄鉱もしくは白鉄鉱(FeS2)、磁硫鉄鉱(Fe(1-x)S(x=0~0.2))、硫鉄ニッケル鉱(Fe,Ni)9S8、紫ニッケル鉱(Ni2FeS4)、黄鉄ニッケル鉱(Ni,Fe)S2、硫砒鉄鉱(FeAsS)、または他の硫化鉄、鶏冠石(AsS、雄黄(As2S3)、輝コバルト鉱(CoAsS)、菱マンガン鉱(MnCO3)、黄銅鉱(CuFeS2)、斑銅鉱(Cu5FeS4)、銅藍(CuS)、四面銅鉱(Cu8Sb2S7)、硫砒銅鉱(Cu3AsS4)、砒四面銅鉱(Cu12As4.S13)、輝銅鉱(Cu2S)、または他の硫化銅、閃亜鉛鉱(ZnS)、鉄閃亜鉛鉱(ZnS)、または他の硫化亜鉛、方鉛鉱(PbS)、硫安鉛鉱(Pb5(Sb,As2)S8)、または他の硫化鉛、輝銀鉱または針銀鉱(Ag2S)、輝水鉛鉱(MoS2)、針ニッケル鉱(NiS)、ポリジム鉱(Ni3S4)、または他の硫化ニッケル、輝安鉱(Sb2S3)、Ga2S3、CuSe、クーパー鉱(PtS)、ラウラ鉱(RuS2)、ブラッグ鉱(Pt,Pd,Ni)S、FeCl2のうちの1または2以上から選択される天然起源の鉱物から生成される、請求項1~20のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 電子供与体が、次のもの、すなわち、プロセスガス、テールガス、強化石油回収ベントガス、バイオガス、酸性鉱山排水、埋立て地浸出液、埋立て地ガス、地熱ガス、地熱スラッジまたはブライン、金属汚染物質、脈石、尾鉱、硫化物、二硫化物、メチルメルカプタンおよびジメチルメルカプタンおよびエチルメルカプタンの1または2以上から選択されるメルカプタン、硫化カルボニル、二硫化炭素、アルカンスルホネート、硫化ジアルキル、チオスルフェート、チオフラン、チオシアネート、イソチオシアネート、チオ尿素、チオール、チオフェノール、チオエーテル、チオフェン、ジベンゾチオフェン、テトラチオネート、亜ジチオン酸塩、チオン酸塩、二硫化ジアルキル、スルホン、スルホキシド、スルホラン、スルホン酸、ジメチルスルホニオプロピオネート、スルホン酸エステル、硫化水素、スルフェートエステル、有機硫黄、二酸化硫黄、およびすべての他のサワーガスのうちの1または2以上から選択される汚染物質または廃棄生成物から生成される、請求項1~21のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 固定工程時の1つまたは複数の化学合成反応のための電子供与体から酸水素微生物への還元等価体の送達が、吸収または吸着された水素電子供与体を化学独立栄養生物のごく近傍に置くのを容易にする微生物増殖用の固体担体培地の形態で水素貯蔵材料を環境中に導入すること、H2ガスまたは固体電極材料中の電子を含む貧溶性電子供与体から化学独立栄養培養培地に還元力を移動するのを支援する電子伝達体を導入すること、および固体電子を化学独立栄養生物のごく近傍に置くのを容易にする固体増殖担体培地の形態の電極材料を環境に直接導入すること、の1または2以上により、速度論的および/または熱力学的に増強される、請求項1~22のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 有機化学品がC5~C30の炭素鎖長の化合物を含む、請求項1~23のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの化学合成反応が、次のもの、すなわち、加速突然変異誘発、遺伝子工学もしくは遺伝子改変、ハイブリダイゼーション、合成生物学、および伝統的な選抜育種のうちの1または2以上を含む方法を介して、無機炭素化合物および/または1個のみの炭素原子を含有する有機化合物の固定ならびに有機化合物の生成が、改良、最適化、または工学操作された酸水素微生物により行われる、請求項1~24のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 上側部分と下側部分とを含む第1の塔と、
上側部分と下側部分とを含む第2の塔と、
を含み、前記第2の塔の上側部分が、前記第1の塔の上側部分に流体接続され、かつ前記第2の塔の下側部分が、前記第1の塔の下側部分に流体接続される、バイオリアクターであって、
前記第1および前記第2の塔間で液体を循環させる時、ガスの容積が、前記第1の塔および/または前記第2の塔の頂部で実質的に定常的になるように、構築および配置され、かつ
ガスの容積が、その容積が位置する塔の全容積の少なくとも約2%を占める、バイオリアクター。 - バイオリアクターが液体培地を含有する、請求項26に記載のバイオリアクター。
- バイオリアクターが酸水素微生物を含有する、請求項26に記載のバイオリアクター。
- 増殖培地を含む液体を第1の塔および第2の塔間で循環させることを含み、操作時、ガスの容積が、前記第1の塔および/または前記第2の塔の頂部で実質的に定常的に維持され、かつガスの容積が、その容積が位置する塔の全容積の少なくとも約2%を占める、バイオリアクターの操作方法。
- ガスの容積が水素および/または酸素を含む、請求項29に記載の方法。
- ガスの容積が水素を含む、請求項29に記載の方法。
- ガスの容積が、その容積が位置する塔の全容積の約2%~約10%を占める、請求項29に記載の方法。
- 第1および/または第2の塔が入口部を含み、かつ塔の頂部にする位置するガスの少なくとも一部が、前記第1および/または前記第2の塔の入口部を介して容積から再循環されて、前記第1および/または前記第2の塔に戻される、請求項29に記載の方法。
- バイオリアクターが酸水素微生物を含有する、請求項29に記載の方法。
- 水を電解して酸素および水素を生成するように構築および配置されたチャンバーと、
ストリーム内の酸素の少なくとも一部をストリーム内の水素の少なくとも一部から分離して、セパレーターを出る流体の水素含有率が、酸水素微生物の培養物を含有するリアクターへの供給ストリームとして使用するのに好適なものとなるようにすべく、構築および配置されたセパレーターを含む出口部と、
を含む、電解装置。 - 電解装置の出口部がバイオリアクターと流体連通状態で結合されている、請求項35に記載の電解装置。
- バイオリアクターが、酸水素微生物による無機炭素化合物および/または1個のみの炭素原子を含有する有機化合物から有機化学品への回収および変換用として構築および配置される、請求項36に記載の電解装置。
- 電解装置の操作方法であって、水を電解して酸素と水素とを含有する第1のストリームを生成すること;および
前記酸素の少なくとも一部を前記水素の少なくとも一部から分離して、第1のストリームに比べて比較的水素に富んだ第2のストリームを生成することを含み、
前記第2のストリームが、酸水素微生物の培養物を含有するリアクターへの供給ストリームとして好適なものである、前記方法。 - 第2のストリームをバイオリアクターに供給することを含む、請求項38に記載の方法。
- バイオリアクターが酸水素微生物を含有する、請求項39に記載の方法。
