Abstract
Description
2017年11月6日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/582,268号明細書の優先権の利益を主張し、その内容全体が、参照により本明細書に明示的に援用される。
本開示は、薬物送達デバイスに関し、より具体的には、電子制御を備える薬物送達デバイスに関する。
本願は、簡単且つ効果的な薬物送達デバイス及びデバイスを使用する方法に関し、デバイスは、患者の体上に適切な配置がいつ行われたかのみならず、患者に送達される薬物の量を決定するためのオンボードコントローラを含む。コントローラはまた、薬物送達中に適切な配置が崩されたとき、及び/又は全用量未満の薬物が投与されたかどうかを決定するために使用され得る。
Claims (20)
- 薬物送達デバイスであって、
内部空洞と、当該薬物送達デバイスの投与動作中に患者に接触するための先端側表面と、を画定するハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの前記内部空洞内に配置され、薬物を収容するように適合された一次容器と、
導電性部分を有するカニューレであって、前記カニューレの末端部が前記ハウジング内部にある保管状態と、前記カニューレの前記末端部が前記ハウジングの前記先端側表面の開口部を通って延出する送達状態と、を有する、カニューレと、
前記一次容器及び前記カニューレを含む、前記薬物用の流体流路と、
前記ハウジング内に配置されている、前記薬物を前記一次容器から前記流体流路を通して選択的に押し出し、前記カニューレが前記送達状態にあるときに前記カニューレを通して患者に送達するための送達機構と、
前記流体流路内を押し出される前記薬物の流れの特性を測定するように構成された流量測定デバイスと、
前記ハウジングの前記先端側表面上に配置された電極と、
前記ハウジングによって支持され、前記流量測定デバイス、前記カニューレ、及び前記電極に電気的に接続されたコントローラであって、前記コントローラは、
前記ハウジングの前記先端側表面上の前記電極を患者の皮膚上に適用し、前記患者に前記カニューレを挿入すると、前記カニューレ及び前記電極を含む電気回路が閉じたと決定すること、及び
前記流量測定デバイスの測定値を基に、及び前記閉じた電気回路の認識と併せて、前記薬物の全用量が前記流体流路内を押し出され、前記患者に送達されたかどうかを決定すること、
により、前記薬物が前記患者に無事に送達されたかどうかを決定するように構成されている、コントローラと、
を含む、薬物送達デバイス。 - 前記流量測定デバイスは、前記流体流路に動作的に結合された、前記流体流路を通る前記薬物の前記流れを測定するためのフローセンサを含む、請求項1に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 前記カニューレの前記導電性部分は前記カニューレの先端部にあり、前記コントローラは、前記電気回路の読取り値に基づいて、前記送達状態における前記カニューレの前記先端部の深さを決定するように構成されている、請求項1又は2に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 通信モジュールを更に含み、前記コントローラは、前記薬物の全用量が投与されている間に前記電気回路が閉じられていたとの決定に応答して、前記通信モジュールで確認信号を送信するように構成されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 前記コントローラは更に、全用量未満の前記薬物が投与された、又は前記薬物が投与されている間に前記電気回路が開いたとの決定に応答して、前記通信モジュールで故障信号を送信するように構成されている、請求項4に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 前記コントローラは、
前記送達機構の動作を制御し、
前記薬物の全用量が投与される前に前記電気回路が開いたとの決定、又は
前記カニューレが誤った深さにあるとの決定、
のうちの少なくとも1つに応答して、前記薬物の送達を一時停止する
ように構成されている、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の薬物送達デバイス。 - 前記カニューレは、導電材料でできた針を含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 前記カニューレは硬質又は軟質カテーテルを含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 前記カニューレに動作的に結合された、前記カニューレの前記末端部が前記保管状態において前記ハウジング内に隠れる後退位置と、前記カニューレの前記末端部が前記送達状態において前記ハウジングから延出し、前記先端側表面を越える伸張位置と、の間で前記カニューレを移動させるための針挿入機構を更に含む、請求項1に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 前記ハウジングは、前記先端側表面を画定する後退可能な針ガードを含み、前記針ガードは、前記保管状態にある前記カニューレの前記末端部を隠す延長位置と、前記送達状態にある前記カニューレの前記末端部が前記ハウジングから延出することを可能にする後退位置と、をとる、請求項1に記載の薬物送達デバイス。
- 薬物送達デバイスを動作させる方法であって、
内部空洞を画定するハウジング内部空洞を画定するハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの前記内部空洞内に配置され、薬物を収容する一次容器と、
導電性部分を有するカニューレであって、末端部が前記ハウジング内部にある保管状態と、前記末端部が前記ハウジングの前記先端側表面の開口部を通って延出する送達状態と、を有する、カニューレと、
前記一次容器及び前記カニューレを含む、前記薬物用の流体流路と、
前記ハウジング内に配置されている、前記薬物を前記一次容器から前記流体流路を通して選択的に押し出し、前記カニューレが前記送達状態にあるときに前記カニューレを通して患者に送達するための送達機構と、
前記流体流路内を押し出される前記薬物の流れの特性を測定するように構成された流量測定デバイスと、
前記ハウジングの前記先端側表面上に配置された電極と、
前記ハウジングによって支持され、前記流量測定デバイス、前記カニューレ、及び前記電極に電気的に接続されたコントローラと、
を含む薬物送達デバイスを用意することと、
前記薬物送達デバイスの前記先端側表面及び前記電極で前記患者の皮膚に接触することと、
前記患者に前記カニューレを挿入することと、
前記カニューレ及び前記電極を含む閉じた電気回路を前記コントローラで認識することと、
前記薬物を、前記一次容器から前記流体流路を通して押し出し、前記カニューレを通して前記患者に送達するための前記送達機構を動作させることと、
前記流体流路内を押し出される前記薬物の前記流れの特性を前記流量測定デバイスにより測定することと、
前記患者に投与される薬物の量を決定することと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記流体流路内を押し出される前記薬物の前記流れの前記特性を測定することは、前記流体流路内を押し出される前記薬物の前記流れをフローセンサによって測定することを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記閉じた電気回路を認識することは、前記カニューレの先端部及び前記電極を含む閉じた電気回路を認識することを含む、請求項11又は12に記載の方法。
- 前記薬物の全用量が投与されている間に前記電気回路が閉じられていたとの決定に応答して、前記薬物送達デバイスの通信モジュールで確認信号を送信することを更に含む、請求項11〜13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 全用量未満の前記薬物が投与された、又は前記薬物が投与されている間に前記電気回路が開いたとの決定に応答して、前記薬物送達デバイスの通信モジュールで故障信号を送信することを更に含む、請求項11〜14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 薬物送達動作のデータをストレージデバイスに保存することを更に含み、前記データは、前記薬物送達動作の時間及び日付、送達した薬物の量、前記動作中、前記電気回路が閉じていたことの確認、又は前記カニューレの先端部の深さ、のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項11〜15のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記薬物の全用量が投与される前に前記電気回路が開いたとの決定に応答して、前記薬物の送達を一時停止することを更に含む、請求項11〜16のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カニューレが誤った深さにあるとの決定に応答して、前記薬物の送達を一時停止することを更に含む、請求項11〜17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カニューレを挿入することは、前記カニューレの末端部を取り囲む針ガードを前記ハウジング内に後退させるために、前記先端側表面で前記患者の皮膚に力をかけることを含み、前記針ガードは前記先端側表面を画定する、請求項11〜18のいずれか一項に記載の方法
- 前記カニューレを挿入することは、前記カニューレを前記ハウジングから前記患者に駆動させる針インサート機構を作動させることを含む、請求項11〜18のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
