Description
アップ状態のゆっくりとした振動と同位相であるスピンドル類似刺激は、記憶を向上させる。
ゆっくりとした振動とスピンドルとの連関の増加は、睡眠構造の変化なく、状況毎の記憶の増加を引き起こす。
光遺伝学的に誘導されたスピンドルは、自然的な海馬の重畳を保存し、ゆっくりとした振動、スピンドル、およびリップルの3中結合により記憶を向上させる。
図24に開示されたように、32個のチャンネルを有する集束超音波装置をマウスの頭脳に付着し、図24の(c)のような方式によりスピンドル類似刺激を加えた結果、図24の(d)に示されたように、超音波刺激を加える場合、脳波の変化が観察されることを確認することができた。
Claims (25)
- (a)脳波信号を測定する脳波測定部と、
(b)前記脳波信号に含まれたゆっくりとした振動(slow oscillation)の発生に応じて、スピンドル類似刺激(spindle‐like stimulation)を前記脳に印加する刺激部と、を含む脳刺激装置。 - 前記スピンドル類似刺激は、スピンドル成分およびゆっくりとした振動成分を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記スピンドル類似刺激のゆっくりとした振動成分は、前記脳波のゆっくりとした振動と実質的に同位相であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記スピンドル類似刺激のスピンドル成分の周波数は、前記脳波のスピンドル周波数の範囲内に位置することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記スピンドル類似刺激のスピンドル成分の周波数は、11〜16Hzの範囲内に位置することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の脳刺激装置。

- 前記スピンドル類似刺激は、振動刺激、電気的刺激、磁気的刺激、電磁波的刺激、音波的刺激、超音波的刺激、および光遺伝学的刺激(optogenetic stimulation)で構成された群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記刺激部は、前記脳の視床網様核(thalamic reticular nucleus)に前記スピンドル類似刺激を印加することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記刺激部は、
前記脳波信号の入力を受け、前記ゆっくりとした振動の周波数帯域に相当する信号を通過させるフィルタと、
前記フィルタの出力から前記ゆっくりとした振動の発生を検知し、ゆっくりとした振動の検知信号を出力するゆっくりとした振動検知部と、
前記ゆっくりとした振動の検知信号に応じて、前記ゆっくりとした振動のアップ状態に対応するアップ状態信号を出力するアップ状態検知部と、
前記アップ状態信号が出力される間に刺激制御信号を生成する刺激制御信号生成部と、
前記刺激制御信号に応じて前記脳に前記スピンドル類似刺激を印加する刺激素子と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の脳刺激装置。 - 前記ゆっくりとした振動のアップ状態である期間に脳に印加されるスピンドル類似刺激の強度は、前記アップ状態の期間以外の期間に脳に印加されるスピンドル類似刺激の強度の2倍以上であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記刺激部は、前記脳波信号またはそれから誘導された信号から睡眠状態を判断する睡眠状態判断部をさらに含み、前記睡眠状態判断部は前記判断された睡眠状態が徐波睡眠状態であると、刺激部の一部を動作させることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記刺激部は、11〜16Hzの範囲内に位置するスピンドル周波数を有するスピンドル類似信号を出力するスピンドル類似信号生成部をさらに含み、
前記刺激制御信号生成部は、前記アップ状態信号が出力される間に前記スピンドル周波数を有する前記刺激制御信号を生成することを特徴とする請求項13に記載の脳刺激装置。 - 前記スピンドル類似信号生成部は、前記脳波信号に対応する信号に基づいて前記スピンドル‐類似信号のスピンドル成分の位相を決定することを特徴とする請求項16に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記刺激部は、前記脳波信号に含まれたスピンドルを検知するスピンドル検知部をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の脳刺激装置。
- 前記刺激部の動作を制御する制御部をさらに含み、
前記制御部は、
前記スピンドル類似刺激の強度;
前記スピンドル類似刺激のゆっくりとした振動成分と、前記脳波信号に含まれたゆっくりとした振動との間の位相差;および
前記刺激部のオン/オフ動作で構成された群から選択されるいずれか一つを制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の脳刺激装置。 - 脳または頭の位置を認識する位置認識部をさらに含み、
前記刺激部は、認識された前記位置に応じて刺激位置を変更することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の脳刺激装置。 - 請求項1〜20のいずれかに記載の脳刺激装置と連動する携帯用装置であって、
前記携帯用装置は、前記脳刺激装置との通信を行う通信部と、タッチ表示装置と、を含み、
前記タッチ表示装置は、スピンドル類似刺激の強度を制御するための画像;前記スピンドル類似刺激のゆっくりとした振動成分と、脳波信号に含まれたゆっくりとした振動との間の位相差を制御するための画像;および前記脳刺激装置のオン/オフ動作を制御するための画像で構成された群から選択される何れか1つを表示することを特徴とする携帯用装置。 - 請求項1〜20のいずれかに記載の脳刺激装置と連動する携帯用装置であって、
前記携帯用装置は、前記脳刺激装置との通信を行う通信部と、表示装置と、を含み、
前記表示装置は、スピンドル類似刺激が印加された程度;スピンドル類似刺激によって脳にスピンドルが誘導された程度;および前記脳刺激装置の動作程度で構成された群から選択される何れか1つを表示することを特徴とする携帯用装置。 - (a)睡眠前に、ユーザの暗記対象を請求項21に記載の携帯用装置のタッチ表示装置に提供するステップと、
(b)睡眠中に、前記脳刺激装置を動作させるか動作させないステップと、
(c)睡眠後に、前記ユーザの前記暗記対象の暗記程度をテストする画面を提供するステップを複数回行った後、前記脳刺激装置の動作有無による暗記程度の差を表示するステップを含む、脳刺激装置の性能評価方法。 - (a)睡眠前に、ユーザの暗記対象を請求項22に記載の携帯用装置のタッチ表示装置に提供するステップと、
(b)睡眠中に、前記脳刺激装置を動作させるか動作させないステップと、
(c)睡眠後に、前記ユーザの前記暗記対象の暗記程度をテストする画面を提供するステップを複数回行った後、前記脳刺激装置の動作有無による暗記程度の差を表示するステップ、を含む、脳刺激装置の性能評価方法。 - (a)睡眠前に、ユーザに暗記対象を提供するステップと、
(b)睡眠中に、請求項1〜20のいずれかに記載の脳刺激装置を用いて脳を刺激するステップと、を含む、記憶力向上方法。
