Description
Claims (19)
- 回復性睡眠を促進する装置(10)であって、
徐波活動を促進させるために、脳に5Hz以下の周波数の非侵襲的な刺激を与える脳刺激手段((14、16)、(68、70)、(68、71)、(66、67)、(80、82))と、
前記脳刺激手段を制御するとともに、前記脳をモニタリングしてノンレム睡眠を示す前記脳の徐波活動(38)の量を検出する睡眠モニター(24、26)と、
を備え、
前記睡眠モニターは、ノンレム睡眠を示す徐波活動の量が決められた量に達したときに前記脳刺激手段を作動させることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記脳刺激手段((80、82)、(68、71))は、音声刺激及び前庭刺激で構成されるグループから選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記脳刺激手段は、経頭蓋磁気刺激デバイス(14、16)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、前記経頭蓋磁気刺激デバイスのコイルを、安静状態の人の脳の正中線近傍にある感覚運動/頭頂葉皮質に配置する、位置決め器具(positioner)(30)を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記経頭蓋磁気刺激デバイスは、1Hz以下の周波数で脳を刺激することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記睡眠モニターは、安静状態の人に配置されるとともに睡眠/覚醒活動の決められたレベルを検出する電極を有するEEGデバイス(24、26)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、EEGの記録及び前記脳刺激手段による脳の周期的な刺激の時間の表示を行う電子データログ(52)を含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記電子データログは、5Hz以下の周波数の出力の測定を提供することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、安静状態の頭部に配置された前記経頭蓋磁気刺激デバイスの刺激コイル(16)と、EEG電極(26)を保持する頭部アプライアンス(head appliance)(30)とをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、決められた間隔後に前記脳刺激手段の作動を停止させるための配列ユニット(sequencing unit)をさらに含み、前記睡眠モニターがその後、睡眠レベルが決められたレベルに達したときに前記脳刺激手段を再作動させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、決められた間隔後に前記脳刺激手段の作動を停止させるための配列装置をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記脳刺激手段は、音声パルスを供給する音声発生器(80、82)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記脳刺激手段は、鼻に周期的な刺激を与える鼻部アプライアンス(nasal appliance)(68、70)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記鼻部アプライアンスは、周期的な空気の突発波を与えることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記脳刺激手段は、少なくとも2つの電極(66、67)を有し、そのうちの少なくとも1つは安静状態の人の皮膚に適用されて、2つの間に電流を生じさせることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 回復性睡眠を促進する装置の制御方法であって、5Hz以下の周波数の経頭蓋磁気刺激を周期的に作動させて、EEG徐波活動を促進させる脳刺激手段を作動させる段階を備え、
前記EEG徐波活動を促進させる段階が、前記脳をモニタリングしてノンレム睡眠を示す前記脳の徐波活動の量を検出する睡眠モニターを用いて、ノンレム睡眠を示す徐波活動の量が決められた量に達したときに前記脳刺激手段を作動させることによって実施されることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記方法は、決められた睡眠レベルで周期的に適用される前記経頭蓋磁気刺激を開始する段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、決められた間隔後に前記経頭蓋磁気刺激を停止させる段階をさらに含み、これにより睡眠レベルが決められたレベルに達したときに前記経頭蓋磁気刺激の更新がされることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、前記経頭蓋磁気刺激を周期的に停止させる段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の方法。
