Abstract
Description
本明細書で開示される数値範囲は、下限値および上限値からの全ての値を含み、かつ下限値および上限値を含む。明示的な値を含む範囲では、任意の2つの明示的な値の間の任意の部分範囲が包含される。化学化合物に関して使用される場合、別途特に示されない限り、単数は全ての異性形態を含み、その逆もまた同様である。
その組成物は、40重量%〜95重量%(例えば45重量%〜95重量%、50重量%〜95重量%、70重量%〜95重量%、70重量%〜90重量%、および/または75重量%〜85重量%)の熱可塑性ポリオレフィンエラストマー(TPE)成分を含むことができる。ある特定の実施形態において、TPE成分は組成物に靭性を付与する。ある特定の実施形態において、TPE成分は、(1)エラストマーの特性、すなわち、その元の長さを超えて伸張し、解放されると実質的にその元の長さに収縮する能力を有し、かつ(2)熱可塑性樹脂のように処理することができ、すなわち、熱にさらされると軟化し、室温に冷却されると実質的にその元の状態に戻る、ポリオレフィン(PO)である。
その組成物は、5重量%〜60重量%(例えば5重量%〜40重量%、5重量%〜30重量%、10重量%〜30重量%、および/または15重量%〜25重量%)の炭素繊維成分を含む。例示的な実施形態において、炭素繊維成分はリサイクル廃棄物由来のチョップド炭素繊維を含む。チョップド炭素繊維は、当業者に知られている任意のプロセスまたは手段によって製造してもよい。非限定的な例示的な実施形態において、チョップド炭素繊維は、約200〜300℃での酸化、約1200〜1400℃での炭化、表面処理、サイジング、連続炭素繊維トウとしての巻き取り、およびチョップド炭素繊維への切断によってポリアクリロニトリル(PAN)前駆体から製造される。さらなる例示的な実施形態において、チョップド炭素繊維は、連続炭素繊維から織物を作り出し、その織物を成形プロセスで使用し、続いてエッジトリムを切断し、それをチョップド繊維の供給源として使用することによって、製造される。

Claims (6)
- (A)40重量%〜95重量%の熱可塑性ポリオレフィンエラストマーと、
(B)5重量%〜60重量%の炭素繊維成分と、を含み、
前記炭素繊維成分は、エポキシ系およびフェノキシ系エマルジョンでサイジングされたチョップド炭素繊維を含む、組成物。 - 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンエラストマーが、プロピレン/アルファ−オレフィンコポリマーである、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンエラストマーが、プロピレン−エチレンコポリマーである、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンエラストマーが、ASTM D792に従って測定すると0.870g/cc〜0.900g/ccの密度、230℃/2.16kgにおいてASTM D1238に従って測定すると0.1g/10分〜50g/10分のメルトフローレートを有するプロピレン−エチレンコポリマーである、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 3000MPaを超える曲げ弾性率をさらに含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 10kJ/m2を超えるシャルピー衝撃強度をさらに含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
