Abstract
Description
本出願は、2016年4月15日に出願された同時係属の米国仮出願第62/322,834号の利益を主張するものであり、その開示は全体が本明細書に参照として組み込まれる。
a)複数の不織プライであって、各プライが、複数の隣接する単方向性繊維及び/又は複数の隣接する単方向性テープを含み、繊維/テープのうちの1つ以上が、繊維/テープ表面に結合されたポリマーバインダの不連続のパッチにより部分的に被覆された表面を有し、各プライが外側上部表面及び外側下部表面を有する、複数の不織プライと、
b)プライのうちの少なくとも1つの、少なくとも1つの表面に結合された少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイであって、少なくとも1つの表面を部分的にのみ被覆し、かつポリマーバインダの融点よりも低い融点を有する、少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイと、を含む、耐弾道性材料を提供する。
a)隣接する単方向配向繊維のアレイ、又は隣接する単方向配向テープのアレイを含む第1の不織繊維状プライであって、外側上部表面及び外側底部表面を有する、第1の不織繊維状プライを提供することと、
b)乾燥した無溶媒の粒子状ポリマーバインダを第1の不織繊維状プライの少なくとも1つの表面に適用することと、
c)少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイを第1の不織繊維状プライの表面上に提供することであって、少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイは表面を部分的にのみ被覆し、少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイは、ポリマーバインダの融点よりも低い融点を有し、工程b)及びc)が可逆的である、適用することと、
d)少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイを少なくともその軟化温度まで加熱し、それが第1の不織繊維状プライの表面に結合することを可能にすることと、
e)少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイ上の第1の不織繊維状プライ上に第2の不織繊維状プライを適用することであって、第2の不織繊維状プライが、隣接する単方向配向繊維のアレイ又は隣接する単方向配向テープのアレイを含み、第2の不織繊維状プライは第1及び第2の表面を有し、第2の不織繊維状プライは、表面のうちの少なくとも1つに乾燥した無溶媒の粒子状ポリマーバインダを含む、適用することと、
f)第1の不織繊維状プライ及び第2の不織繊維状プライを熱及び圧力下で固結させることであって、第1の不織繊維状プライの粒子状ポリマーバインダの少なくとも一部、及び第2の不織繊維状プライの粒子状ポリマーバインダの少なくとも一部が溶融され、それによりバインダが第1及び第2の不織繊維状プライを共に結合する、固結させることと、を含む、方法が提供される。

ここでZは、アジピン酸、セバシン酸、オクタデカン二酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、ドデカン二酸、及びグルタル酸などの少なくとも2個の炭素原子を含む二価の脂肪族ラジカルを表す。ジカルボン酸類は、脂肪族酸類、又はイソフタル酸、及びテレフタル酸などの芳香族酸類であってよい。ポリアミド類を製造するための好適なジアミン類は、一般式を有するようなものが含まれる。

ここでnは1〜16の整数値を有し、かつトリメチレンジアミン、テトラメチレンジアミン、ペンタメチレンジアミン、ヘキサメチレンジアミン、オクタメチレンジアミン、デカメチレンジアミン、ドデカメチレンジアミン、ヘキサデカメチレンジアミン、p−フェニレンジアミンなどの芳香族ジアミン類、4,4’−ジアミノジフェニルエーテル、4,4’−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン、4,4’−ジアミノジフェニルメタン、2,2−ジメチルペンタメチレンジアミンなどのアルキル化ジアミン類、2,2,4−トリメチルヘキサメチレンジアミン、及び2,4,4−トリメチルペンタメチレンジアミン、並びにジアミノジシクロヘキシルメタンなどの脂環式ジアミン類、及びその他の化合物類などの化合物を含む。他の有用なジアミン類は、ヘプタメチレンジアミン、ノナメチレンジアミンなどが挙げられる。
Claims (10)
- 少なくとも1つの繊維状プライを含む耐弾道性材料であって、各繊維状プライが複数の繊維及び/又は複数のテープを含み、前記繊維/テープのうちの1つ以上が、ポリマーバインダの盛り上がった不連続のパッチにより部分的に被覆された表面を有し、前記ポリマーバインダの盛り上がった不連続のパッチが、前記繊維/テープ表面に結合し、かつそこから延びており、前記材料が、前記繊維/テープ上、及び/又はそれらの間に複数のポリマー粒子を更に含む、耐弾道性材料。
- 前記パッチが、10:1未満のアスペクト比を有し、乾燥した無溶媒のポリマー粉末を軟化及び/又は溶融させることにより前記繊維/テープ表面上に形成される、請求項1に記載の耐弾道性材料。
- 前記ポリマー粒子が、未溶融のポリマー粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の耐弾道性材料。
- 前記繊維/テープのそれぞれの表面積の50%未満が、前記パッチで被覆されている、請求項1に記載の耐弾道性材料。
- 各繊維状プライが、80g/m2未満の繊維面積密度、及び100g/m2未満の総面積密度を有する、請求項1に記載の耐弾道性材料。
- 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性材料の複数のプライを含む、多層複合体。
- 前記複合体が、前記複合体の体積の少なくとも20%の内部空隙体積を有する、請求項6に記載の多層複合体。
- a)複数の不織プライであって、各プライが、複数の隣接する単方向性繊維及び/又は複数の隣接する単方向性テープを含み、前記繊維/テープのうちの1つ以上が、ポリマーバインダの不連続のパッチにより部分的に被覆された表面を有し、前記ポリマーバインダの不連続のパッチが、前記繊維/テープ表面に結合し、各プライが、外側上部表面及び外側底部表面を有する、複数の不織プライと、
b)前記プライのうちの少なくとも1つの、少なくとも1つの表面に結合された少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイであって、前記少なくとも1つの表面を部分的にのみ被覆し、かつ前記ポリマーバインダの融点よりも低い融点を有する、少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイと、を含む、耐弾道性材料。 - 前記熱可塑性オーバーレイが、前記ポリマーバインダの融点よりも低い融点を有する1つ以上の結合する細長い本体を含む、請求項8に記載の耐弾道性材料。
- 耐弾道性材料の形成方法であって、
a)隣接する単方向配向繊維のアレイ、又は隣接する単方向配向テープのアレイを含む第1の不織繊維状プライであって、外側上部表面及び外側底部表面を有する、第1の不織繊維状プライを提供する工程と、
b)乾燥した無溶媒の粒子状ポリマーバインダを前記第1の不織繊維状プライの少なくとも1つの表面に適用する工程と、
c)少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイを前記第1の不織繊維状プライの表面上に適用する工程であって、前記少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイは前記表面を部分的にのみ被覆し、前記少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイは、前記ポリマーバインダの融点よりも低い融点を有し、工程b)及びc)が可逆的である、工程と、
d)前記少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイを少なくともその軟化温度まで加熱し、それが前記第1の不織繊維状プライの前記表面に結合することを可能にする工程と、
e)前記少なくとも1つの熱可塑性オーバーレイ上の前記第1の不織繊維状プライ上に第2の不織繊維状プライを適用する工程であって、前記第2の不織繊維状プライが、隣接する単方向配向繊維のアレイ又は隣接する単方向配向テープのアレイを含み、前記第2の不織繊維状プライは第1及び第2の表面を有し、前記第2の不織繊維状プライは、前記表面のうちの少なくとも1つに乾燥した無溶媒の粒子状ポリマーバインダを含む、工程と、
f)前記第1の不織繊維状プライ及び前記第2の不織繊維状プライを熱及び圧力下で固結させる工程であって、前記第1の不織繊維状プライの前記粒子状ポリマーバインダの少なくとも一部、及び前記第2の不織繊維状プライの前記粒子状ポリマーバインダの少なくとも一部が溶融され、それにより、前記バインダが前記第1及び第2の不織繊維状プライを共に結合する、工程と、を含む、方法。
