Abstract
Description
本件開示では、任意の適切な構築材料を用いてよい。構築材料はポリマー粒子またはパウダー、例えば熱可塑性ポリマー粒子またはパウダーを含む。粒子は10から100μm、例えば20から80μmの平均粒径を有してよい。本件開示で用いるとき、粒子の特性に関する「平均」は、特に明記しない限り数平均である。したがって「平均粒子径」は、数平均の粒径を参照している。加えて、「粒径」は球形粒子の直径を参照し、または非球形粒子の最長寸法を参照している。粒径は任意の適切な方法によって、例えば動的レーザー散乱法またはレーザー回折分光法によって求めてよい。粒径を求めるのに適した商業的に入手可能な機器の一例は、Malvern登録商標Instruments社のMastersizer登録商標であってよい。
本件開示において、ドーパント組成物はドーパントを印刷部品中に導入するために使用される。ドーパント組成物は溶融前に、構築材料の層上にインクジエット印刷されてよい。換言すれば、ドーパント組成物は未溶融の構築材料上に印刷されてよい。ドーパント組成物をインクジエット印刷することにより、ドーパント組成物は一滴ずつ特定の位置に印刷されてよく、ドーパントがボクセルレベルで導入されることを許容する。ドーパント組成物のそれぞれの液滴は、50pl未満、40pl未満、30pl未満、20pl未満、10pl未満の容積を有してよい。幾つかの例では、液滴寸法は1から40pl、例えば2、3、4または5から30pl、例えば2、3、4または5から20pl、または2、3、4または5から10plであってよい。幾つかの例では、ドーパント組成物は未溶融の構築材料上に、例えば構築材料上に何らかの溶融組成物を適用する前に適用してよい。
溶融組成物が用いられる場合、溶融組成物(または「溶融インク」)は、電磁放射線を吸収して熱を生成することのできる溶融剤を含むことができる。この溶融剤は、有色または無色であることができる。幾つかの例では、溶融剤はカーボンブラック、近赤外線吸収性染料、近赤外線吸収性顔料、タングステンブロンズ、モリブデンブロンズ、金属ナノ粒子、またはこれらの組み合わせであることができる。
ドーパントに加えて、構築材料には着色剤を適用してよい。着色剤は、少なくとも印刷部品の外側表面に適用してよい。着色剤は裸眼で見えるものであってよく、印刷部品に対して認知可能な色を与えるのに十分な量で使用してよい。着色剤は、可視染料または可視顔料であってよい。
本件開示の方法は、3次元印刷システムを用いて実施してよい。3次元印刷システム100の一例を図1に示す。このシステムは、例えば熱可塑性ポリマーパウダー115の形態の構築材料を含むパウダーベッド110を含んでよい。図示の例では、パウダーベッドは可動床120を有しており、これは3次元部品の各層が印刷されるごとに、パウダーベッドを低下させることを可能にする。3次元印刷部品は、部品本体127の表面に適用された、ドープ部分125を含むドープされた層126を含むことができる。このシステムはまた、インクジェットプリンタ130を含んでおり、これはドーパントインク140のリザーバと連通している第一のインクジェットペン135を含んでいる。第一のインクジェットペンは、ドーパントインクをパウダーベッド上に印刷することができる。第二のインクジェットペン145が、溶融インク150のリザーバとと連通している。この第二のインクジェットペンは、溶融インクをパウダーベッド上に印刷することができる。溶融インクがパウダーベッド上に印刷された後に、溶融ランプ160を使用して、溶融インクで印刷されたパウダーを溶融するのに十分な電磁放射線に、パウダーベッドを曝露することができる。
3次元印刷システムを使用して、部品本体の表面上に光輝性複合層を有する3次元印刷部品を印刷した。光輝性インク(ドーパント組成物として)および溶融インクを二つの別個のインクジェットペンから印刷した。二つの別個の光輝性インクを使用した。第一の光輝性インクは水性インクビヒクル中に3重量%のフルオレセインを含み、第二の光輝性インクは水性インクビヒクル中に0.25重量%のローダミンBを含んでいた。溶融インクは水性インクビヒクル中に5重量%のカーボンブラックを含んでいた。
実施例1で記載したのと同じ全体的な印刷パラメータが用いられて、部品本体の表面上に光輝性複合層を有する別の3次元印刷部品が印刷された。この3次元印刷部品の予め指定した領域には、いずれもPolysciences社から入手可能な、水性ビヒクル中1.3重量%のCarboxy YG 100nmナノスフェア、水性ビヒクル中2.6重量%のCarboxyYG 100nmナノスフェア、水性ビヒクル中2.5重量%のCarboxy YO 400nmナノスフェア、水性ビヒクル中2.7重量%のCarboxy NYO 200nmナノスフェア、水性ビヒクル中2.6重量%のCarboxyYG200nmナノスフェア、水性ビヒクル中2.6重量%のCarboxy BB 100nmナノスフェア、および水性ビヒクル中1.0重量%のCarboxy EU 200nmナノスフェアをそれぞれ含有する、別々の光輝性インクを印刷した。
実施例1で記載したのと同じ全体的な印刷パラメータが用いられて、部品本体の表面上に光輝性複合層を有するさらに別の3次元印刷部品が印刷された。この3次元印刷部品の予め指定した領域には、水性ビヒクル中1重量%のInP/ZnS量子ドット(オレイルアミン配位子)(NN−Labs社から入手可能)、水性ビヒクル中0.1重量%のInP/ZnS量子ドット(カルボン酸配位子)(NN−Labs社から入手可能)、および水性ビヒクル中1重量%のNanoDOTTMCIS−700(Voxtel社から入手可能)をそれぞれ含有する、別々の光輝性インクを印刷した。
この実施例では、3次元印刷システムを使用して、表面層よりも下側で部品本体内にカプセル化された光輝性セキュリティ特徴を有する、種々の3次元印刷部品を印刷することができる。特に、光輝性インクと溶融インクは別々のインクジェットペンから印刷された。使用した光輝性インクは以下の配合処方を有していた:
Claims (15)
- 印刷部品の3次元印刷方法であって、
インクジエットドーパント組成物をポリマー粒子を含む構築材料の層上の選択された個所に印刷し、ここでインクジエットドーパント組成物は液体キャリア中に分散または溶解したドーパントを含み;そして
ポリマー粒子を構築材料の層の選択された領域において溶融して、ドーパントを含む溶融ポリマー層を形成することを含み、
構築材料の層の選択された領域が、インクジエットドーパント組成物で印刷されていない構築材料の層の領域を含む、方法。 - インクジエット溶融組成物を構築材料の層の選択された領域上に、溶融前に印刷することをさらに含む、請求項1の方法。
- ドーパントがドーパント粒子を含む、請求項1の方法。
- ドーパント粒子が、光輝性粒子、誘電性粒子、磁性粒子、セラミック粒子、半導体粒子、および電気伝導性粒子から選択される、請求項3の方法。
- ドーパント粒子が1から200nmの粒径を有する、請求項3の方法。
- 印刷部品が、ドーパントを含む領域およびドーパントが欠如している領域を含む、請求項1の方法。
- ドーパントを含む領域がドーパントが欠如している領域と少なくとも一つの特性において相違し、ここで少なくと一つの特性が、導電性、誘電率、透磁率、屈折率、フォトルミネセンス、引張強度、およびヤング率の少なくとも一つから選択される、請求項6の方法。
- 溶融ポリマー層上に構築材料の追加の層を形成すること;インクジエットドーパント組成物を構築材料の追加の層上の選択個所に印刷すること;そして構築材料の追加の層の選択された領域においてポリマー粒子を溶融してドーパントを含む追加の溶融ポリマー層を形成することをさらに含む、請求項1の方法。
- 溶融ポリマー層上に構築材料の追加の層を形成すること、そしてポリマー粒子を構築材料の追加の層の選択された領域において溶融してドーパントが欠如している溶融ポリマー層を形成することをさらに含む、請求項1の方法。
- 印刷されたインクジエットドーパント組成物が、構築材料の層中の隣接するポリマー粒子間の隙間の少なくとも幾らかへと流入する、請求項1の方法。

- 構築材料が含むポリマー粒子が、ポリアミド、ポリウレタン、ポリカーボネート、ポリスチレン、およびポリオレフィンの少なくとも一つから選択された熱可塑性ポリマー粒子である、請求項1の方法。
- 3次元印刷材料セットであって、
熱可塑性ポリマー粒子を含む粒状構築材料;
液体キャリア中に分散したドーパントを含むインクジエットドーパント組成物;ここでドーパントは光輝性粒子、誘電性粒子、磁性粒子、セラミック粒子、半導体粒子、電気伝導性粒子、およびポリマーナノ粒子の少なくとも一つから選択される粒子を含む;および
電磁放射線を吸収して熱を生成可能な溶融剤を含むインクジエット溶融組成物を含む、3次元印刷材料セット。 - 少なくとも一つの着色剤を含むインクジエットインク組成物をさらに含む、3次元印刷材料セット。
