Abstract
Description
アラミド編繊維(A&P社製)基材および炭素繊維が編まれているTX−45(A&P社製)基材(大きさ約3ヤード四方)を、Spunfab co−Polyamide PA1203(6g/m2)又はSpunfab Polyolefin PO4208(6g/m2)の不織布の片側に被覆させた。
被覆アラミド基材は4インチ四方に切取られた。被覆炭素繊維基材は4.5インチの円板状に切取られた。これらの基材それぞれを長方形トレーに入れ、約280°Fの温度に予備加熱されたオーブン中に30〜40秒入れて加熱した。
加熱工程前に、実施例1で使用したそれぞれの基材を、半径約1.5インチのステンレススチール半球アルミニウム製型に入れ、300°Fに加熱されたオーブン中に30〜40秒入れた。加熱された織物が入れられている型は4オンスの圧力下で約160°Fまで冷却された。次いで型を開け、安定化された織物を取出した。安定化織物の3次元形状が保たれており、織物の寸法は実質的に保たれていた。
実施例1のそれぞれの基材を、加熱工程の後に、約半径1.5インチのステンレススチール製半球型に入れた。予め加熱した基材を含む型を300°Fのオーブン中の金属トレーに置き、更に10秒保持した。オーブンから型を取出し、大気圧中で冷却した。成形体を型から取出し、成形体の形状は型の形状に保たれていた。本プロセスは、特に、セラミック、炭素、KEVLAR(登録商標、ポリα−アラミド繊維、Dupont社製)等から成る高弾性糸で編まれて形成される成形品に適用できる。
Claims (14)
- 1)強化用繊維から形成される第1の織物を提供する工程と、2)強化用繊維の軟化点よりも低い軟化点を有する繊維から製造される少なくとも1つの不織布を上記第1の織物の少なくとも片側に配置して構造体を形成する工程と、3)上記不織布を構成する繊維の軟化点と融点との間の温度に得られた構造体を加熱する工程と、5)加熱した構造体を冷却して安定な2次元織物を得る工程とか成る成形品の製造のために設計された安定な織物の製造方法。
- 加熱工程3)の前に上記工程2)における構造体を型に入れ、加熱工程3)に従って型の中で構造体を加熱し、加熱された型に入れられている構造体を冷却工程5)に従って型の中で冷却し、3次元成形品を得る請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 不織布が熱可塑性繊維から形成されている請求項2に記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性繊維がポリアミド又は共重合ポリアミドから成る請求項3に記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性繊維が、ポリオレフィン、共重合ポリオレフィン、ポリウレタン、ポリエステル及び共重合ポリエステルから選択される弾性熱可塑性繊維である請求項3に記載の製造方法。
- 強化用繊維が、炭素繊維、セラミック繊維およびポリα−アラミド繊維から成る群より選択される請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 1)強化用繊維から形成される第1の織物を提供する工程と、2)強化用繊維の軟化点よりも低い軟化点を有する繊維から形成される少なくとも1つの不織布を上記第1の織物の少なくとも片側に配置して構造体を形成する工程と、4)得られた構造体を型に入れる工程と、5)上記不織布の軟化点と融点との間の温度に型の中の構造体を加熱し、更に型の中の構造体を冷却する工程と、6)構造体を型から取出して安定な3次元織物を得る工程とから成る、安定な3次元織物の製造方法。
- 不織布が熱可塑性繊維から形成されている請求項7に記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性繊維がポリアミド又は共重合ポリアミドから成る請求項7に記載の製造方法。
- 強化用繊維が、炭素繊維、セラミック繊維およびポリα−アラミド繊維から成る群より選択される請求項7に記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性繊維が、ポリオレフィン、共重合ポリオレフィン、ポリウレタン、ポリエステル及び共重合ポリエステルから選択される弾性熱可塑性繊維である請求項7に記載の製造方法。
- 強化用繊維が、炭素繊維、セラミック繊維およびポリα−アラミド繊維から成る群より選択される請求項7に記載の製造方法。
