Abstract
Description
Liイオンをドープしていない負極活物質を用いて製造した負極を使用し、その負極活物質にLiイオンをドープする。
Liイオンをドープしていない負極活物質に、Liイオンを直接ドープする。この場合、系外プレドープ法(i−1)の説明で先に記載した負極を浸漬する前記溶液中に、負極に代えて負極活物質(Liイオンドープ前の負極活物質)を浸漬することで、負極活物質にLiイオンをドープすることができる。
<正極の作製>
Li含有化合物であるLi2CO3と、Co含有化合物であるCo3O4と、Mg含有化合物であるMg(OH)2と、Zr化合物であるZrO2と、Al含有化合物であるAl(OH)3とを適正な混合割合で乳鉢に入れて混合した後、ペレット状に固め、マッフル炉を用いて、大気雰囲気中(大気圧下)で、950℃で24時間焼成し、ICP(Inductive Coupled Plasma)法で求めた組成式がLiCo0.9795Mg0.011Zr0.0005Al0.009O2のコバルト酸リチウム(A1)を合成した。
前記式(1)で表わされるユニットおよび前記(2)式で表わされるユニットのみを有し、前記式(2)におけるRが水素でM’がカリウムであり、前記式(1)で表わされるユニットと前記式(2)で表わされるユニットとのモル比が6/4である共重合体(A)をイオン交換水に溶解し、共重合体(A)の濃度が8質量%である水溶液を調製した。この水溶液に、負極活物質であるSiO表面を炭素材料で被覆した複合体Si−1(平均粒径が5μm、比表面積が8.8m2/gで、複合体における炭素材料の量が、SiO:100質量部に対して10質量部)と、X線回折におけるd002が0.346nmである難黒鉛化炭素HC−1(平均粒径:8μm)に、更に導電助剤としてカーボンブラックを加え、攪拌混合することで負極合剤含有ペーストを得た。なお、このペーストにおける複合体Si−1:HC−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)は、81:9:2:8とした。なお、実施例1のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が90質量%でHC−1の割合が10質量%であった。
変性ポリブチルアクリレートの樹脂バインダ:3質量部と、ベーマイト粉末(平均粒径1μm):97質量部と、水:100質量部とを混合し、多孔質層(II)形成用スラリーを調製した。このスラリーを、厚さ12μmのリチウムイオン電池用ポリエチレン製微多孔膜〔多孔質層(I)〕の片面に塗布、乾燥をした。多孔質層(I)の片面にベーマイトを主体とした多孔質層(II)を形成したセパレータを得た。なお、多孔質層(II)の厚みは3μmであった。
正極同士のタブ部、負極同士のタブ部を、それぞれ溶接した。そして、前記積層電極体50が収まるように窪みを形成した厚み:0.15mm、幅:34mm、高さ:50mmのアルミニウムラミネートフィルムの、前記窪みに前記積層電極体を挿入し、その上に前記と同じサイズのアルミニウムラミネートフィルムを置いて、両アルミニウムラミネートフィルムの3辺を熱溶着した。そして、両アルミニウムラミネートフィルムの残りの1辺から非水電解液(エチレンカーボネートとジエチルカーボネートとの体積比30:70の混合溶媒に、LiPF6を1mol/lの濃度で溶解させ、ビニレンカーボネート:4質量%、4−フルオロ−1,3−ジオキソラン−2−オン:5質量%、アジポニトリル:0.5質量%、および1,3−ジオキサン:0.5質量%となる量で添加した溶液)を注入した。その後、両アルミニウムラミネートフィルムの前記残りの1辺を真空熱封止して、図3に示す外観で、図4に示す断面構造のリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、72:18:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、実施例2のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が80質量%でHC−1の割合が20質量%であった。
複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、63:27:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、実施例3のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が70質量%でHC−1の割合が30質量%であった。
複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、54:36:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、実施例4のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が60質量%でHC−1の割合が40質量%であった。
複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、45:45:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、実施例5のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が50質量%でHC−1の割合が50質量%であった。
Si−1に代えてSiO表面を炭素材料で被覆していない材料Si−2(平均粒径が5μm、比表面積が6.8m2/g)を用いた以外は、実施例5と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
HC−1に代えてX線回折におけるd002が0.380nmである難黒鉛化炭素HC−2(平均粒径:12μm)を用いた以外は、実施例5と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
Si−1およびHC−1の他に、黒鉛G−1(天然黒鉛からなる母粒子の表面を、ピッチを炭素源とした非晶質炭素で被覆した黒鉛であり、平均粒子径が10μm、d002が0.336nm、BET法による比表面積が3.9m2/gで、アルゴンイオンレーザーラマンスペクトルにおけるR値が0.40)を用い、複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:黒鉛G−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、54:32:4:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。 なお、実施例8のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が60質量%でHC−1の割合が35質量%で黒鉛G−1の割合が5質量%であった。
複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:黒鉛G−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、45:41:4:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、実施例9のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が50質量%でHC−1の割合が45質量%で黒鉛G−1の割合が5質量%であった。
<第3電極の作製>
図5に示す形状の第3電極(プレドープ用電極)30を以下の通り作製した。一方の面から他方の面へ貫通する貫通孔を有する銅箔(厚みが10μm、貫通孔の直径が0.1mm、気孔率が47%)を45×25mmの大きさに切断し、2×2mm角の第3電極タブ部31を有する第3電極集電体32を作製した。更に、厚さが200μmであり、質量が18mgであるLi箔33を、第3電極集電体32の両端近傍にそれぞれ圧着し、Li箔33、33が内側となるようにアルファベットのC字状に折りたたんで第3電極30を得た。
次に、実施例2と同様にして作製した積層電極体を使用し、これを第3電極と重ねて電極体を作製した。図6に積層電極体102と第3電極30とを重ねた様子を模式的に表す斜視図を示しているが、積層電極体102に第3電極30を重ねる際には、これらの位置関係が、図6に示す積層電極体102と第3電極30との位置関係と同様となるように、すなわち、積層電極体102の端面とLi箔33、33とが対向するような位置関係となるようにした。
難黒鉛化炭素HC−1を使用しなかった〔すなわち、複合体Si−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)が90:2:8〕以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。すなわち、比較例1のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質の全量(100質量%)が、複合体Si−1であった。
複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、36:54:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、比較例2のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が40質量%でHC−1の割合が60質量%であった。
Si−1およびHC−1の他に、黒鉛G−1を用い、複合体Si−1:難黒鉛化炭素HC−1:黒鉛G−1:カーボンブラック:共重合体(A)の組成比(質量比)を、45:4:41:2:8とした以外は、実施例1と同様にして負極合剤含有ペーストを調製し、このペーストを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。なお、比較例2のリチウムイオン二次電池に用いた負極は、負極活物質中の全量を100質量%としたとき、複合体Si−1の割合が50質量%でHC−1の割合が5質量%で黒鉛G−1の割合が45質量%であった。
実施例および比較例のリチウムイオン二次電池の各10個を、0.5Cの電流値で4.4Vまで定電流充電し、引き続いて4.4Vの一定電圧で電流値が0.02Cに到達するまで充電した。その後、0.2Cの定電流で2.0Vまで放電を行って、初回放電容量を求めた。結果を表1に示す。
前記初期容量を測定した各電池のうち5個について、1Cの電流値で4.4Vまで定電流充電し、引き続いて4.4Vの定電圧で電流値が0.05Cになるまで充電した後に、1Cの電流値で2.0Vまで放電する一連の操作を1サイクルとして、これを300回サイクル実施した。そして、各電池について、初回放電容量測定時と同じ条件で定電流−定電圧充電および定電流放電を行って、放電容量を求めた。そして、これらの放電容量を初回放電容量で除した値を百分率で表して容量維持率を求め、それぞれ5個の平均値を算出した。結果を表1に示す。
前記初期容量を測定した各電池と、300回の充放電サイクルを繰り返した後の各電池とを、0.5Cの電流値で4.4Vまで定電流充電し、引き続いて4.4Vの一定電圧で電流値が0.02Cに到達するまで充電した。充電した各電池を解体して負極を取り出し、ジエチルカーボネートに浸漬して洗浄したのち、真空乾燥をした。乾燥後の負極の厚みをマイクロメーターで測定し、300サイクル後の負極厚みを、初期容量測定後の負極厚みで除した値を百分率で表して負極膨張率とした。結果を表1に示す。

- 前記材料Sとして、SiOx(ただし、0.5≦x≦1.5)を含有している請求項1または2に記載の電気化学素子用負極。
- 前記SiOxは炭素材料と複合体を構成している請求項3に記載の電気化学素子用負極。
- 前記負極合剤層が含有する負極活物質の少なくとも一部は、Liイオンがドープされている請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電気化学素子用負極。
- 正極、負極、セパレータおよび非水電解液を有するリチウムイオン二次電池であって、
請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の電気化学素子用負極を前記負極として構成されたことを特徴とするリチウムイオン二次電池。
