Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の実施形態に係るエンジンの概略構成を示す模式図である。エンジン2は車両1に搭載されるものであり、当実施形態の車両1は自動車である。エンジン2は、直列多気筒のディーゼルエンジンであり、エンジン本体3と、吸気装置4と、排気装置5と、を備える。当例では、吸気装置4及び排気装置5が本発明の吸排気装置に相当する。
次に、上述したエンジン2のより具体的な構成について説明する。図2は、エンジン2の側面図(図3のII矢視図)であり、図3は、エンジン2の平面図である。
以上説明したエンジン2において、排気ポート14から排出されて上流側排気通路部30a及びターボ過給機60(タービン60b)を経由した排気ガスは、下流側排気通路部30b(DOC31、DPF32、排気シャッターバルブ33及びサイレンサ34)を通じて外部に排出される。そして、下流側排気通路部30bに導入された排気ガスのうちの一部は、DPF32の下流側に設けられた分岐部323からLP−EGR通路51に導入され、このLP−EGR通路51を通じて上流側吸気通路部20aに還流されることとなる。
(1)上記実施形態では、EGRバルブ52がLP−EGR通路51の下流側の端部に備えられているが、下流側の端部よりも上流側の位置に設けられていてもよい。また、EGRクーラ53は、LP−EGR通路51の上流側の端部に備えられているが、上流側の端部よりも下流側の位置に設けられていてもよい。但し、上記実施形態のように、EGRバルブ52とEGRクーラ53とがLP−EGR通路51の両端に離間して配置された構成によれば、EGRバルブ52の+Z側の通路部分に凝縮水が溜まることを抑制でき、また、EGRバルブ52とEGRクーラ53との間の区間を使って効果的に凝縮水を流下させることができ、また、EGRクーラ53内で発生した凝縮水を速やかに下流側排気通路部30bに導入することが可能となる。そのため、EGRバルブ52に凝縮水が付着したり溜まったりすることを高度に抑制する上では、上記実施形態のような構成が好適である。

Claims (4)
- 車両に搭載されるエンジンの吸排気装置において、
排気通路と、排気ガスの一部を吸気通路に導入するEGR通路とを含み、
前記排気通路は、排気ガスの導入部及び導出部を備えかつ排気ガスが水平方向に沿って流れるように配置された排気ガス浄化部と、前記導出部に繋がって浄化後の排気ガスの流路を車両上下方向に分岐させる分岐部と、当該分岐部に繋がって排気ガスを前記導出部よりも車両上下方向の下方に案内する案内部とを含み、
前記EGRガス通路は、前記分岐部に繋がって排気ガスを車両上下方向の上方に向かって案内する、ことを特徴とするエンジンの吸排気装置。 - 請求項1に記載のエンジンの吸排気装置において、
前記EGRガス通路は、EGRガスの流れ方向における上流側の端部に備えられたEGRクーラを含み、当該EGRクーラは、前記分岐部に直接接続されている、ことを特徴とするエンジンの吸排気装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のエンジンの吸排気装置において、
前記EGRクーラは、鉛直方向にEGRガスが流通するように設けられている、ことを特徴とするエンジンの吸排気装置。 - 請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載のエンジンの吸排気装置において、
前記排気ガス浄化部は、水平方向における一端部に前記導出部を備えるとともに、他端部における前記導出部よりも車両上下方向の上方の位置に前記導入部を備え、
前記導出部は、車両上下方向における前記排気ガス浄化部の下端部に設けられ、かつ当該下端部から水平方向に沿って延びている、ことを特徴とするエンジンの吸排気装置。
