Abstract
Description
(1)エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)、不飽和カルボン酸又はその誘導体に由来する官能基から選ばれる少なくとも1種の官能基を有し、密度が910〜970kg/m3であるポリオレフィン樹脂(B)(金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい)、プロピレン系重合体(C)、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)及び金属イオン源(E)を含む熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
(2)エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)10〜85質量部、前記ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)(金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい)0.1〜30質量部、プロピレン系重合体(C)0.1〜35質量部、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)1〜15質量部、金属イオン源(E)0.01〜10質量部を含み(但し、(A)、(B)、(C)、(D)及び(E)の合計量を100質量部とする)、更に前記(A)〜(E)の合計量100質量部に対し、密度が840〜900kg/m3である変性エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体(F)0〜15質量部を含む前記(1)に記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
(3)エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)及びフェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)を含む組成物(X1)が、前記ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)、プロピレン系重合体(C)及び金属イオン源(E)を含む組成物(X2)中に分散している前記(1)又は(2)に記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
(4)組成物(X1)が更に金属イオン源(E)を含む前記(3)に記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
(5)エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)、不飽和カルボン酸又はその誘導体に由来する官能基から選ばれる少なくとも1種の官能基を有し、密度が910〜970kg/m3であるポリオレフィン樹脂(B)(金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい)、プロピレン系重合体(C)、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)及び金属イオン源(E)を含む組成物を動的架橋することを含む、前記(1)〜(4)のいずれかに記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の製造方法。
本発明に係るエチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)は、通常、(a)エチレンから導かれる単位と、(b)α−オレフィンから導かれる単位とを、50/50〜95/5、好ましくは60/40〜80/20、更に好ましくは65/35〜75/25[(a)/(b)]のモル比の範囲にある。
メチルテトラヒドロインデン、5−エチリデン−2−ノルボルネン、5−メチレン−2−ノルボルネン、5−イソプロピリデン−2−ノルボルネン、5−ビニリデン−2−ノルボルネン、6−クロロメチル−5−イソプロペニル−2−ノルボルネン、5−ビニル−2−ノルボルネン、5−イソプロペニル−2−ノルボルネン、5−イソブテニル−2−ノルボルネン、シクロペンタジエン、ノルボルナジエン等の環状非共役ジエン;
2,3−ジイソプロピリデン−5−ノルボルネン、2−エチリデン−3−イソプロピリデン−5−ノルボルネン、2−プロペニル−2,2−ノルボルナジエン、4−エチリデン−8−メチル−1,7−ナノジエン等のトリエン等が挙げられ、これら非共役ポリエンは単独でも、2種類以上でも使用することができる。これら非共役ポリエンの中でも、5−エチリデン−2−ノルボルネン(ENB)、5−ビニル−2−ノルボルネン(VNB)が好ましい。
本発明に係るポリオレフィン樹脂(B)は、不飽和カルボン酸又はその誘導体に由来する官能基を有するものであり、前記官能基は金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい。前記官能基としては、好ましくはカルボン酸基が挙げられる。
本発明に用いるプロピレン系重合体(C)は、プロピレン単独、又はプロピレンとその他の1種又は2種以上のモノオレフィンを高圧法又は低圧法により重合して得られる高分子量固体生成物からなる。
本発明においては、架橋剤として、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)を用いる。
フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)としては、レゾール樹脂でありアルキル置換フェノール又は非置換フェノールのアルカリ媒体中のアルデヒドでの縮合、好ましくはホルムアルデヒドでの縮合、又は二官能性フェノールジアルコール類の縮合により製造されることも好ましい。アルキル置換フェノールは1〜10の炭素原子のアルキル基置換体が好ましい。更にはp−位において1〜10の炭素原子を有するアルキル基で置換されたジメチロールフェノール類又はフェノール樹脂が好ましい。フェノール樹脂系硬化樹脂は、典型的には、熱架橋性樹脂であり、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤又はフェノール樹脂とも呼ばれる。
金属イオン源(E)は、カルボン酸基等の官能基を有するポリオレフィン樹脂(B)における未中和のカルボン酸基等の官能基を中和することができる塩基性金属化合物である。
本発明の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物は、機械物性向上の点から、変性エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体(F)を含むことが好ましい。
本発明の組成物には、前記のエチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)、ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)、プロピレン系重合体(C)、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)、金属イオン源(E)及び変性エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体(F)以外の成分、例えば、従来公知の軟化剤、無機充填剤、補強材、軟化剤、耐熱安定剤(加工熱安定剤)、老化防止剤、耐候安定剤、帯電防止剤、結晶核剤、着色剤、及び滑剤等の添加剤を本発明の目的を損なわない範囲で配合することができる。
本発明の成形体を構成する熱可塑性エラストマー組成物は、好ましくは、未架橋のエチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)、ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)、プロピレン系重合体(C)、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)及び金属イオン源(E)、必要に応じて配合される添加剤を含む混合物を動的に熱処理して架橋(動的架橋)することによって得られる。このようにして得られた熱可塑性エラストマー組成物は、少なくともその一部が架橋されている。前記のように、動的架橋することにより初めて、永久伸びが低く、延伸後の復元が良好な熱可塑性エラストマー組成物が得られる。
[エチレン・α−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体の各構造単位のモル量及び質量]
エチレンに由来する構造単位、α−オレフィンに由来する構造単位及び非共役ポリエンに由来する構造単位のモル量及び質量は、1H−NMRスペクトルメーターによる強度測定によって求めた。
下記実施例及び比較例における熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の物性の評価方法は次の通りである。
100t電熱自動プレス(ショージ社製)を用いて、得られた熱可塑性エラストマー組成物のペレットを230℃で6分間プレス成形し、その後、室温で5分間冷却プレスして厚さ3mmのプレスシートを作製した。該シートを用いて、JIS K6253に準拠して、A型測定器を用い、押針接触後直ちに目盛りを読み取った。
JIS K6301の方法に従って測定した。
なお、試験片は、厚さ2mmのプレスシートから3号ダンベル片を打ち抜いて用いた。
測定温度:23℃
M100:100%伸び時の応力(MPa)
TB:引張破断強度(MPa)
EB:引張破断点伸び(%)
試験片は、厚さ2mmのプレスシートから3号ダンベル片を打ち抜いて用いた。この試験片を、70℃にて、JIS3号ダンベルを用い、伸張率100%で22時間保持した。荷重を除去した10分後の試験片の長さを測定し、以下の計算式から各熱処理温度における永久伸び(PS)(%)を算出した。

t2:試験片に荷重を加え、保持したときの試験片の長さ
100t電熱自動プレス(ショージ社製)を用いて、得られた熱可塑性エラストマー組成物のペレットを230℃で6分間プレス成形し、その後、室温で5分間冷却プレスして厚さ2mmのプレスシートを作製した。
組成物の反発弾性は、厚さ12mm、直径29mmに成形した組成物について、JIS K6255(1996)「加硫ゴム及び熱可塑性ゴムの反発弾性試験方法」の4項の「リュプケ式反発弾性試験」の記載に準拠して、23℃で測定を行って求めた。
[使用材料]
(1)エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)
エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)として、エチレン・プロピレン・ジエン共重合体ゴム(三井EPTTM3072EPM:三井化学(株)製、エチレン含量=64質量%、ジエン含量=5.4質量%、ムーニー粘度ML(1+4)125℃=51、油展量=40(PHR))を用いた。
ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)として、エチレン・メタクリル酸共重合体の分子間を金属イオン(Zn2+)で架橋したアイオノマー樹脂(ハイミランTMAM7326:三井・デュポンポリケミカル社製、MFR(JIS K7210、190℃、2.16kg荷重)1.1g/10分、密度(JIS K7112)950kg/m3、融点(DSC)101℃)を用いた。
プロピレン系重合体(C)として、ホモポリプロピレン(プライムポリプロTME111G:プライムポリマー社製、MFR(JIS K7210、230℃、2.16kg荷重)0.5g/10分、密度(JIS K7112)910kg/m3)を用いた。
フェノール樹脂系架橋剤として、臭素化アルキルフェノールホルムアルデヒド樹脂(商品名:SP−1055F、Schenectady社製)を用いた。
金属イオン源(E)として、酸化亜鉛(酸化亜鉛2種、ハクスイテック社製)を用いた。
変性エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体(F)として、無水マレイン酸グラフト変性エチレン・1−ブテン共重合体(タフマーTMMH5020:三井化学社製、MFR(ASTM D1238、190℃、2.16kg荷重)0.6g/10分、MFR(ASTM D1238、230℃、2.16kg荷重)1.2g/10分、密度(ASTM D1505)866kg/m3)を用いた。
軟化剤として、パラフィン系プロセスオイル(ダイアナプロセスオイルTMPW−100:出光興産社製)を用いた。
エチレン・α−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン(A)としてエチレン・プロピレン・ジエン共重合体ゴム(三井EPTTM3072EPM:三井化学(株)製、エチレン含量=64質量%、ジエン含量=5.4質量%、ムーニー粘度ML(1+4)125℃=51、油展量=40(PHR))140質量部、プロピレン系重合体(C)として、ホモポリプロピレン(プライムポリプロTME111G:プライムポリマー社製、MFR(JIS K7210、230℃、2.16kg荷重)0.5g/10分、密度(JIS K7112)910kg/m3)20質量部、金属イオン源(E)として、酸化亜鉛(酸化亜鉛2種、ハクスイテック社製)0.8質量部、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)として、臭素化アルキルフェノールホルムアルデヒド樹脂(商品名:SP−1055F、Schenectady社製)8質量部、変性エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体(F)として、無水マレイン酸グラフト変性エチレン・1−ブテン共重合体(タフマーTMMH5020:三井化学社製、MFR(ASTM D1238、190℃、2.16kg荷重)0.6g/10分、MFR(ASTM D1238、230℃、2.16kg荷重)1.2g/10分、密度(ASTM D1505)866kg/m3)5質量部、及び軟化剤として、パラフィン系プロセスオイル(ダイアナプロセスオイルTMPW−100:出光興産社製)40質量部を押出機(品番 KTX−30、神戸製鋼(株)製、シリンダー温度:C1:50℃、C2:90℃、C3:100℃、C4:120℃、C5:180℃、C6:200℃、C7〜C14:200℃、ダイス温度:200℃、スクリュー回転数:500rpm、押出量:40kg/h)にてC0部分より混合し投入した。また押出機のC11部分よりエチレン・メタクリル酸共重合体の分子間を金属イオン(Zn2+)で架橋したアイオノマー樹脂(ハイミランTMAM7326:三井・デュポンポリケミカル社製、MFR(JIS K7210、190℃、2.16kg荷重)1.1g/10分、密度(JIS K7112)950kg/m3)20質量部を投入して熱可塑性エラストマー組成物のペレットを得た。配合及び結果を表1に示す。
成分及びその配合量を表1に示すように変更する以外は、実施例1と同様にして、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物のペレットを得た。結果を表1に示す。
Claims (5)
- エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)、不飽和カルボン酸又はその誘導体に由来する官能基から選ばれる少なくとも1種の官能基を有し、密度が910〜970kg/m3であるポリオレフィン樹脂(B)(金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい)、プロピレン系重合体(C)、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)及び金属イオン源(E)を含む熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
- エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)10〜85質量部、前記ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)(金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい)0.1〜30質量部、プロピレン系重合体(C)0.1〜35質量部、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)1〜15質量部、金属イオン源(E)0.01〜10質量部を含み(但し、(A)、(B)、(C)、(D)及び(E)の合計量を100質量部とする)、更に前記(A)〜(E)の合計量100質量部に対し、密度が840〜900kg/m3である変性エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体(F)0〜15質量部を含む請求項1記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
- エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)及びフェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)を含む組成物(X1)が、前記ポリオレフィン樹脂(B)、プロピレン系重合体(C)及び金属イオン源(E)を含む組成物(X2)中に分散している請求項1又は2記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
- 組成物(X1)が更に金属イオン源(E)を含む請求項3記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
- エチレン・炭素数3〜20のα−オレフィン・非共役ポリエン共重合体(A)、不飽和カルボン酸又はその誘導体に由来する官能基から選ばれる少なくとも1種の官能基を有し、密度が910〜970kg/m3であるポリオレフィン樹脂(B)(金属イオンにより部分中和又は完全中和されていてもよい)、プロピレン系重合体(C)、フェノール樹脂系架橋剤(D)及び金属イオン源(E)を含む組成物を動的架橋することを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の製造方法。
