Abstract
Description
(a)金属コバルトを、水素、不活性ガス、または窒素と酸素とを6:1〜100:1の範囲の体積比で含む窒素/酸素混合物の雰囲気下で、含水硫酸に溶解し、
(b)得られた酸性硫酸コバルト溶液を、酸素、酸素含有ガスまたは水性媒体中に酸素を放出できる物質で処理する、
pHが少なくとも4の硫酸コバルト水溶液の製造方法に関する。
(c)得られた硫酸コバルト水溶液を、濾過器を用いて精製する
さらなる工程を、工程(b)の後に実施することができる。
(d)得られた硫酸コバルト水溶液を、イオン交換体を用いて精製する
さらなる工程を、工程(b)の後に、任意選択により工程(c)の後に実施することができる。
pHは、いずれの場合も、pH値4〜7の緩衝液を用いて較正されたガラス電極(複合電極)を使用して23℃で決定した。
1.3kgのコバルト金属(電極フラグメント、寸法:厚さ1〜2mm、直径20mm、円形断面)を、反応装置の二重管型反応器中に配置した。リザーバーを221gの20%濃度の含水硫酸で充たした。
後続して、窒素の代わりに、100標準l/hの空気を二重管型反応器中に導入した。工程(b)の33時間の操作の後、硫酸コバルト溶液をリザーバーから取り、pHおよび濃度を決定したところ、以下の結果が得られた:pH5.42;濃度:8.8gのCo2+/100gの溶液。
1.3kgのコバルト金属(電極フラグメント、寸法:厚さ1〜2mm、平均直径20mm、不定形の多角形断面、最長直径40mm)を、反応装置の二重管型反応器中に配置した。リザーバーを221gの20質量%の含水硫酸で充たした。
反応器温度98.5℃で、25標準l/hの空気を、網目プレートを介して、二重管型反応器中に導入し、酸性硫酸コバルト溶液をポンプ流量1.1l/hで循環させた。リザーバーからの酸性硫酸コバルト溶液を、約98℃の温度で連続的に、二重管型反応器中に供給した。6時間の操作時間の後、溶液を排出した(pH6.71;濃度:8.4gのCo2+/溶液100g)。
1.3kgのコバルト金属(電極フラグメント、寸法:厚さ1〜2mm、直径20mm、円形断面)を、反応装置の二重管型反応器中に配置した。リザーバーを221gの20質量%強の含水硫酸で充たした。
Claims (14)
- (a)金属コバルトを、水素、不活性ガス、または窒素と酸素とを6:1〜100:1の範囲の体積比で含む窒素/酸素混合物の雰囲気下で、含水硫酸に溶解し、
(b)得られた酸性硫酸コバルト溶液を、酸素、酸素含有ガス、または水性媒体中に酸素を放出できる物質で処理する、
pHが少なくとも4の硫酸コバルト水溶液の製造方法。 - 工程(b)において、酸素を放出できる物質が、H2O2、無機過酸化物、無機過硫酸塩および無機過炭酸塩の中から選択される、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 工程(b)が、金属コバルトの存在下で実施される、請求項1または2に記載の製造方法。
- 工程(a)が、80〜110℃の範囲の温度で実施される、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 10〜30質量%の範囲の濃度を有する含水硫酸が工程(a)で使用される、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 工程(b)が、80〜110℃の範囲の温度で実施される、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 硫酸コバルト水溶液が、コバルトに対して1000ppm以下のNa+含有量を有する、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 硫酸コバルト水溶液が、コバルトに対して50ppm以下の鉄イオン含有量を有する、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 硫酸コバルト水溶液が、コバルトに対して50ppm以下のカルシウムイオン含有量を有する、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 硫酸コバルト水溶液が、コバルトに対して50ppm以下の銅(II)イオン含有量を有する、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 硫酸コバルト水溶液が、コバルトに対して50ppm以下のアルミニウムイオン含有量を有する、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- 硫酸コバルト水溶液が、コバルトに対して50ppm以下のクロム(III)イオン含有量を有する、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
- さらに、
(c)得られた硫酸コバルト水溶液を、濾過器を用いて精製する、
請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。 - さらに、
(d)得られた硫酸コバルト水溶液を、イオン交換体を用いて精製する、
請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の製造方法。
