Abstract
Description
例1
スラリー調製
WO3粉末(Nanostructured&Amorphousマテリアルズ社,ヒューストン,TX)の70g、ジルコニウム粉砕ボール(Zr)の150g、およびエタノールの130mlを250mlイットリウム安定化ジルコニウムボール粉砕ジャーに追加した。それから、WO3スラリーを遊星ボール粉砕機を用いて15Hzのレートで18時間粉砕した。
例1に記載されているように調製したスラリーの200mlを遠心のために調製した。遠心分離のためには、WO3粉末の20gおよび脱イオン水の180mlを高密度ポリプロピレンジャーに追加して、10wt%のWO3含量を作り出した。WO3スラリーを遊星ミキサー(THINKYミキサーASRE−310,THINKY,ラグーナヒルズ,CA)によって2000rpmで2分間処理した。それから、粒子集団の一部を含有する上清を取り除き、取り置いた。より大きいサイズのWO3粒子の沈殿物は別に集めた。
ラボスケールコーティングプロセス
粒状軽石(グレード8[メッシュ6−14],Kramerインダストリーズ)の16.0gを蓋付きの60mlガラスジャー中に置いた。軽石グレード8の16gは約46mlであった。純水(ミリQ)の6.0gをジャーに追加した。軽石の16gおよび水の6gを含有するジャーにキャップをし、ラボボルテックスを用いて振盪した。振盪の継続時間は約3〜5分であり、視覚的に観察して、軽石の全てがきれいに濡らされたことを確認した。上の例1に記載されているように調製された触媒粉末の5.7gをジャーに追加した。触媒粉末はWO3:CeO2の1:1モル比であった。例えば、粉末の5.7gは、上に記載されているように調製されたWO3の3.27gとCeO2(シグマ・アルドリッチ)の2.43gとの混合物である。軽石、水、WO3、およびCeO2を含有するジャーにキャップをし、ラボボルテックスを用いて振盪した。振盪の継続時間は約3〜5分であり、視覚的に観察して、コーティングが顆粒の全ての上に均一であるということを確認した。開いたジャーをアルミニウム箔によってカバーし、予熱した110℃のオーブン中に約15時間置いて、余分な水を取り除いた。加熱の後に、アルミニウム箔を取り除き、キャップをしていないジャーを箱型炉内に起き、温度を400℃に2時間セットし、加熱ランプ・レートはおよそ20℃/分であって、金属水酸化物から金属酸化物への変換により水を凝縮し、取り除いた。400℃における約2時間の後に、炉を消し、室温まで冷えさせた。形成された顆粒を脱イオン水(100ml)を含有するビーカー内に入れることによって、PCATコーティングされた顆粒を洗浄した。約10秒間の穏やかな旋回の後に、顆粒をプラスチックに結合したファイバーフィルターシート上に集めて、基材に融合しなかった微粒子を分別した。加えて、フィルター上にある間に顆粒をDI水の約100mlによってリンスして、基材に融合しなかった粒子を取り除いた。それから、PCAT顆粒をキャップをしていないクリーンなジャー内に置き、110℃のオーブン内に少なくとも6時間保存し、水を取り除いた。乾燥したPCAT顆粒を含有するジャーを箱型炉内に置き、温度を400℃に1時間セットして、残留水をさらに脱着させた。加熱ランプ・レートは約20℃/分であった。400℃における1時間の後に、オーブンを消し、室温まで達するようにした。
例3(A−4)においては、コーティングプロセスを例2に関して記載されている様式で行ったが、ただし、1、2、3、および5wt%フュームドシリカ(Evonik,aerosol−200)を水中で混合し、約30分間ソニケーションし、それから水和/ソニケーションされた軽石混合物に加えた。
エチレンの除去
頂点および底に約4.9cmの開口部を有するポリプロピレンの5cm幅、5cm長さ、および5mm奥行きのフレームを構築した。1mm目開きのメッシュのシートを底の開口に被せてフレームの底に取り付け、上に記載されているように調製された光触媒顆粒のある量をメッシュ上かつフレーム内に配置した。顆粒の十分量を、フレームを満たすようにフレームの頂点と同じ高さに配置した(顆粒の約12ccまたは約4グラム)。1mm目開きのメッシュの第2のシートをフレームの頂点に取り付け、光触媒顆粒をフレーム内にトラップした。光触媒顆粒を満たしたフレームを工業規格評価JIS−R1701/ISO22197−1のようにフラット反応チャンバー内に置いた。図1参照。試験チャンバーの入口は10%エチレン含有大気の分あたり1リットルの連続流を供給した。出口におけるガスのエチレンの濃度を測定した。入口および出口の間のエチレン濃度の差は光触媒活性を示す。コーティングされたWO3顆粒はエチレンを時間あたり約2.5〜3.0ppmで除去した。図2参照。
Claims (14)
- 金属酸化物または半金属酸化物を流体担体と混合することによって金属水酸化物混合物を作り出すことと、
光触媒化合物を前記金属水酸化物混合物に加えることと、
250℃よりも高い温度において、前記金属水酸化物、前記流体担体、および前記光触媒化合物を含有する混合物を加熱することによって、前記金属水酸化物を金属酸化物に変換することと、
を含む、光触媒活性複合材料薄膜を作るための方法。 - 前記光触媒化合物を前記金属水酸化物と相互作用させるために十分な時間、前記金属水酸化物、前記流体担体、および前記光触媒化合物を含有する前記混合物を撹拌することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記流体担体の揮発性成分を取り除くために十分な時間、前記金属水酸化物、前記流体担体、および前記光触媒化合物を含有する前記混合物を加熱することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記金属水酸化物がAl2O3およびSiO2から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記金属水酸化物が軽石である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記光触媒材料がWO3および/またはTiO2を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記光触媒材料がWO3である、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記光触媒材料がWO3およびセリアを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記流体担体が水を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記融合した金属酸化物を洗浄することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の方法によって作られた光触媒複合材料。
- 請求項11に記載の光触媒複合材料を含む光触媒素子。
