Description
中心領域40は、その裏面側に配置されたバルブステム28にカム16の回転運動を直接伝達する領域であるため、中心領域40の面圧Pcは、外周領域50の面圧Ppよりも大きくなる(Pc>Pp)。
(接触回数)
バルブリフタ14は、常に回転されるため、外周領域50とカム16との接触頻度または接触回数Npは、中心領域40とカム16との接触回数Ncよりも小さくなる(Nc>Np)。つまり、カム16と接触する外周領域50はローテーションされるので、中心領域40と比較して接触する機会が少なくなる。

Claims (9)
- バルブとカムとの間に配置され、カムの回転動作をバルブのリフト動作に変換するバルブリフタであって、
円形状のバルブリフタ冠面の中心から半径方向に第1の距離で規定される中心領域には、潤滑油を保持するための第1のテクスチャー溝が周方向に形成され、前記中心領域に隣接する中間領域を隔てて半径方向に第1の距離よりも大きい第2の距離で規定される外周領域には、潤滑油を保持するための第2のテクスチャー溝が周方向に形成され、
前記第1の距離は、カムとの面圧またはカムとの接触回数が予め決められたしきい値以上となる値に設定され、前記第2の距離は、カムとの面圧またはカムとの接触回数が予め決められたしきい値以下となる値に設定され、
前記中間領域には、第1および第2のテクスチャー溝よりも溝が浅い第3のテクスチャー溝が形成される、バルブリフタ。 - 第3のテクスチャー溝のピッチは、第1および第2のテクスチャー溝のピッチよりも広い、請求項1に記載のバルブリフタ。
- 前記バルブリフタ冠面には、非晶質硬質炭素被膜が形成され、第1、第2および第3のテクスチャー溝の深さは、前記非晶質硬質炭素被膜の膜厚よりも小さい、請求項1または2に記載のバルブリフタ
- 第3のテクスチャー溝は、半径方向の延びる直線状の溝である、請求項1ないし3いずれか1つに記載のバルブリフタ。
- 第1および第2のテクスチャー溝は、ヘリングボーンのパターンである、請求項1または2に記載のバルブリフタ。
- 第1および第2のテクスチャー溝の少なくとも一方は、周方向に連続する溝である、請求項1または2に記載のバルブリフタ。
- 第1および第2のテクスチャー溝の少なくとも一方は、周方向に非連続の溝である、請求項1または2に記載のバルブリフタ。
- 第1、第2および第3のテクスチャー溝は、レーザー加工によって形成される、請求項1ないし7いずれか1つに記載のバルブリフタ。
- 潤滑油は、モリブデン系オイルである、請求項1ないし7いずれか1つに記載のバルブリフタ。
