Abstract
【解決手段】この非水電解液二次電池は、正極端子が接続された正極集電体を有する正極と、負極端子が接続された負極集電体を有する負極と、前記正極及び前記負極の間に配設されたセパレータと、をそれぞれ1層以上有する積層体を備え、前記正極端子及び前記負極端子は、前記積層体から第1の方向に延出し、かつ、前記積層体を平面視した際に前記第1の方向と直交する第2の方向の両端の中点を通り前記第1の方向に延在する中心線を挟む位置にそれぞれ設けられ、前記正極端子及び前記負極端子のうち排熱効率が高い側の第1端子は、前記正極端子及び前記負極端子のうち排熱効率が低い側の第2端子より、前記中心線側に設けられている。

Description
すなわち、上記課題を解決するため、以下の手段を提供する。
図1は、本実施形態にかかる非水電解液二次電池の断面模式図である。図1に示すように、本実施形態にかかる非水電解液二次電池100は、積層体40と、外装体50とを備える。積層体40と非水電解液(図視略)は、外装体50に設けられた収容空間内に収容される。
図1に示すように、積層体40は、正極20と、負極30と、セパレータ10と、をそれぞれ1層以上有する。セパレータ10は、正極20と負極30との間に配設されている。正極20、負極30、及びセパレータ10は、それぞれ1層以上設けられている。
正極20は、正極集電体22と、正極活物質層24とを有する。正極活物質層24は、正極集電体22の両面に配設される。
負極30は、負極集電体32と、負極活物質層34と、負極端子36とを有する。負極端子36は、第1端部が負極集電体32に接続され、第2端部が外装体50の外側に延出する。
セパレータ10は、電気絶縁性の多孔質構造から形成されていればよく、例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン又はポリオレフィンからなるフィルムの単層体、積層体や上記樹脂の混合物の延伸膜、或いはセルロース、ポリエステル及びポリプロピレンからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種の構成材料からなる繊維不織布が挙げられる。
電解液は、正極活物質層24、負極活物質層34内に含浸される。電解液には、リチウム塩等を含む電解質溶液(電解質水溶液、有機溶媒を使用する電解質溶液) を使用することができる。ただし、電解質水溶液は電気化学的に分解電圧が低いため、充電時の耐用電圧が低く制限される。そのため、有機溶媒を使用する電解質溶液(非水電解質溶液)であることが好ましい。
外装体50は、その内部に積層体40及び電解液を密封する。外装体50は、電解液の外部への漏出や、外部からの非水電解液二次電池100内部への水分等の侵入等を抑止する。
非水電解液二次電池100は、正極活物質層24と負極活物質層34との間をリチウムイオンが移動することで動作する。

非水電解液二次電池100の製造方法は、正極端子26及び負極端子36の取り付け位置を設定する点以外は、公知の方法で作製することができる。正極端子26及び負極端子36の排熱効率は、正極端子26及び負極端子36の幅、厚み、積層枚数及び熱伝導率からそれぞれ求めることができる。
まず正極を作製した。正極はアルミニウム箔(厚み12μm、熱伝導率237.5W/mK)の上に正極活物質を塗工し、正極活物質層を作製した。正極活物質層は、90質量部のLiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2(活物質)と、6質量部の炭素粉末(導電助剤)と、4質量部のポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF、バインダー)とを有する。
比較例1−1は、正極端子および負極端子を設ける位置を変えた点が実施例1−1と異なる。正極端子および負極端子は、積層体をy方向に等間隔に区分したそれぞれの領域のy方向の中央に設けた。その他の条件は、実施例1−1と同じとして過充電時の面内温度分布を9か所で測定した。また同様の条件で設計した非水電解液二次電池について、過充電試験を想定した時の面内温度分布をシミュレーションにより求めた。
(実施例1−2〜1−5)
次いで、シミュレーションを用いて、正極端子および負極端子の設置位置を実施例1−1の設置位置から変更した際に、非水電解液二次電池の表面温度の最高値を求めた。その結果を、以下の表1に示す。
次いで、電池の構成を変更して同様の検討を行った。実施例2−1〜2−5及び比較例2−1では、正極集電体の積層枚数を5枚、正極集電体の厚みを15μm、正極端子の幅を10mmとし、負極集電体の積層枚数を6枚、負極集電体の厚みを10μm、負極端子の幅を5mmとした。その他の条件は実施例1−1と同様とした。そして、実施例2−1〜2−5及び比較例2−1に係る非水電解液二次電池について過充電状態を想定した時の表面温度の最高値をシミュレーションにより求めた。その結果を表2に示す。

- 正極端子が接続された正極集電体を有する正極と、負極端子が接続された負極集電体を有する負極と、前記正極及び前記負極の間に配設されたセパレータと、をそれぞれ1層以上有する積層体を備え、
前記正極端子及び前記負極端子は、前記積層体から第1の方向に延出し、かつ、前記積層体を平面視した際に前記第1の方向と直交する第2の方向の両端の中点を通り前記第1の方向に延在する中心線を挟む位置にそれぞれ設けられ、
前記正極端子及び前記負極端子のうち排熱効率が高い側の第1端子は、前記正極端子及び前記負極端子のうち排熱効率が低い側の第2端子より、前記中心線側に設けられている、非水電解液二次電池。 - 前記第1端子の排熱効率をE1、前記第2端子の排熱効率をE2、前記積層体の第2の方向の幅をWとした際に、

前記区分線から前記第1端子の方向にW×E1/E2×0.3だけずれた位置から前記区分線から前記第2端子の方向にW×E1/E2×0.5だけずれた位置の範囲内に存在する、請求項1に記載の非水電解液二次電池。 - 前記区分線と前記第2区分線との前記第2の方向の位置が一致する、請求項2に記載の非水電解液二次電池。
