Claims (9)
- 過給器を備えた内燃機関の排気系から吸気系に排ガスを戻すためのEGR装置であって、
前記過給器から延出し、基端側に第1肩面を有する第1接続管部と、
前記排気系から延出し、前記過給器から前記第1接続管部の延出方向に離間した位置で前記第1接続管部に向く下流端を有する上流側EGR管と、
一端にて前記上流側EGR管の前記下流端に着脱可能に接続されるEGRバルブと、
前記第1接続管部の遊端に向けて延出するように前記EGRバルブの他端に着脱可能に接続され、基端側に前記第1肩面に対向する第2肩面を有する第2接続管部と、
前記第1接続管部及び前記第2接続管部に外嵌される上流側端部及び下流側端部を有する弾性管部材と、
前記弾性管部材の前記上流側端部及び前記下流側端部を周方向に締め付ける1対の締め付け部材とを備え、
前記弾性管部材が、前記第1肩面と前記第2肩面との間の距離よりも小さい長さを有することを特徴とするEGR装置。 - 前記過給器はタービン及びコンプレッサを備えたターボチャージャからなり、
前記コンプレッサは、前記内燃機関の機関本体の排気側にて、前記機関本体のシリンダ列方向の一端を超えて突出するように設けられ、
前記上流側EGR管の前記下流端、前記EGRバルブ、前記第2接続管部、前記弾性管部材及び前記第1接続管部が、前記機関本体のシリンダ列方向の前記一端側においてシリンダ列方向に直交する方向に沿って配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のEGR装置。 - 前記タービンの下流側に触媒コンバータが接続され、
前記上流側EGR管が前記触媒コンバータの下流側に接続され、
前記第1接続管部が前記コンプレッサの上流側の部分に接続されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のEGR装置。 - 前記上流側EGR管の中間部にEGRクーラが接続され、
前記触媒コンバータが前記機関本体の排気側にて前記タービンの下方位置に配置され、
前記EGRクーラが前記機関本体と前記触媒コンバータとの間に配置されて前記機関本体に固定され、
前記上流側EGR管が、前記触媒コンバータの下流側から前記機関本体と前記触媒コンバータとの間を通って、前記機関本体の前記一端側に向けて延出し、前記機関本体の前記一端側にて前記機関本体の吸気側に向けて延出した後、上方に湾曲して前記機関本体の排気側に向けて折り返していることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のEGR装置。 - 前記上流側EGR管は、前記EGRクーラと前記EGRバルブとを接続し、前記機関本体に固定された剛体からなる上流側EGR管部材を含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のEGR装置。
- 前記上流側EGR管と、前記EGRバルブと、前記第2接続管部とを着脱可能に締結する締結手段が、一端にて前記上流側EGR管と前記第2接続管部との一方に着脱可能に固定され、前記EGRバルブのハウジングを貫通し、他端にて前記上流側EGR管と前記第2接続管部との他方にナットにより締結される少なくとも1つのスタッドボルトを含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項5のいずれかに記載のEGR装置。
- 前記スタッドボルトの前記一端が前記上流側EGR管と前記第2接続管部との前記一方にねじ込まれていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のEGR装置。
- 前記スタッドボルトは、遊端に係合部を有すると共に、前記上流側EGR管、前記EGRバルブ及び前記第2接続管部を互いに締結している状態で追加のナットを螺合させ得る長さを有することを特徴とする請求項6又は請求項7に記載のEGR装置。
- 前記EGRバルブと、前記上流側EGR管及び前記第2接続管部との間に配置される2つのガスケットを更に備え、
前記弾性管部材と、前記第1肩面及び前記第2肩面との間の空隙の寸法が、2つの前記ガスケットを未使用状態で前記EGRバルブと前記上流側EGR管及び前記第2接続管部との間に挿入し得る程度の大きさを有することを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項8のいずれかに記載のEGR装置。
