Abstract
Description
したがって、本発明は、上記のニーズを満たすOLEDディスプレイの封止構造、更にはそのような封止構造を製造する方法に関する。この方法は、特別設計された材料の使用を伴う。
本発明の第1の態様により、酸素及び水分に対する充分なバリア性並びに反射防止性を提供する、OLEDディスプレイ用の封止構造が提供される。
−基板上にOLEDディスプレイデバイスを生成する工程、
−反射防止性を提供する封止構造であって、液晶ポリマー層が、OLEDデバイスと偏光層の間にあるように、無機層、光配向物質を含む層、光配向物質を含む層と接触している液晶ポリマー層、及び直線偏光層を含む構造で、OLEDデバイスを封止する工程
を含む方法が提供される。
重合しうる材料の組成物RES1は、WO 2014012931の表IIdの実施例F20の処方及び指示(ただしCaOを含まない)により調製された。
光配向可能な組成物PAC1は、94.5重量% RES1、5重量% 光配向可能な物質PA1を混合して、0.5% 酸化カルシウム(CaO)粒子を加えることにより調製された。この組成物を室温で16時間撹拌した。組成物PAC1は溶媒を含まない。
溶液PAC2は、3重量%の光配向可能なポリマーPA2を97重量%の溶媒混合物(50重量% 酢酸ブチル/50重量% 酢酸エチル)に希釈することにより調製された。次にこの溶液を室温で30分間撹拌する。
95.475重量% 2,5−ビス[[4−[[6−[(1−オキソ−2−プロペニル)オキシ]ヘキシル]オキシ]ベンゾイル]オキシ]−安息香酸ペンチルエステル、2重量% Irgacure OXE02(BASF)、0.5重量% TEGO Flow 300(Evonik)、0.025重量% 2,6−ジ−tert−ブチル−4−メチルフェノール(Sigma Aldrich)及び2重量% Kayarad DPCA-20(Nippon Kayaku)からなる25重量%の混合物を75重量% 酢酸n−ブチルに溶解して、室温で90分間撹拌することにより、LCP溶液LCP1が得られる。この溶液を0.45μm PTFEフィルターにより濾過する。
窒化ケイ素(SiN)の100nm薄層を、130℃でプラズマ増強化学的蒸着法(PECVD)により清浄な15cm×15cm ガラス基板(厚さ1.1mm)の上に適用する。セラミック層の上にそれぞれ9個の正方形のカルシウムの9群を、マスクを通して蒸発する。81個の正方形のカルシウムのそれぞれは、5mm×5mmの横寸法及び約50nmの厚さを有する。カルシウムの下のSiN層は、以下に記載されるとおりカルシウムの上に調製されることになるバリア構造のバリア性に寄与しない。
RES1の厚さ20μmの平坦化層を、Ca試験基板上にインクジェット印刷する。この材料を、不活性雰囲気下で395nm及び4J/cm2のLEDランプを用いて硬化させる。硬化後、150nmの無機SiN層を130℃でPECVDにより堆積させる。

Ca試験基板上の封止構造ES1、ES2及びES3を、60℃及び相対湿度90%の気候室で885時間保存した。試験基板の外観を図8の写真に示すが、ここで、図8aは構造ES1を持つ基板を示し、図8bは構造ES2を持つ基板を示し、そして図8cは構造ES3を持つ基板を示す。それぞれの基板上で、カルシウム正方形の幾つかは、全部か又は部分的に消失している。Nisatoらの説明によると、これは、ピンホール及び欠陥部を経由する水の浸透のために起こる。よってCa領域の消失は、いわゆる外因性WVTRの尺度である。その一方で、固有WVTRは、カルシウム正方形の無欠陥部分の透過度変化の測定から求められる。よって固有WVTRは、構造にピンホール又は欠陥部のない最良の場合の特定の封止構造に対する特性値である。
Claims (15)
- 直線偏光層(6)、無機層(3)、光配向物質を含む層(4)及び液晶ポリマー層(5)を含む、OLEDディスプレイのための反射防止性を持つ封止構造であって、液晶ポリマー層における液晶配向が、光配向物質との接触に起因して生み出されている構造。
- 光配向物質を含む層(4)が、重合しうるが光配向可能ではない、1つ以上の物質を含む、請求項1記載の封止構造。
- 光配向物質及び光配向可能でない少なくとも1つの物質が、光配向物質を含む層(4)で相分離される、請求項2記載の封止構造。
- 光配向物質を含む層(4)中の光配向物質の濃度が、層のバルクよりも液晶ポリマー層(5)と接触している側でより高い、請求項2又は3記載の封止構造。
- 直線偏光相(6)が、重合された液晶材料及び二色性色素を含む、前請求項のいずれか一項記載の封止構造。
- 構造の全厚さが、50μm未満である、前請求項のいずれか一項記載の封止構造。
- 光配向物質を含む層(4)が、更にゲッター材料を含む、前請求項のいずれか一項記載の封止構造。
- 液晶ポリマー層(5)が、配向パターンを有する、前請求項のいずれか一項記載の封止構造。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項記載の封止構造により封止されているOLEDディスプレイ。
- 請求項1〜8記載の封止構造の製造において使用するための材料組成物であって、光配向可能な物質、及び光配向可能でないが溶媒ではない1つ以上の物質を含む組成物。
- 更にゲッター材料を含む、請求項10記載の材料組成物。
- 溶媒を含まず、そして公知のコーティング又は印刷方法により層の形態で基板上に堆積させることができることを特徴とする、請求項10又は11記載の材料組成物。
- 反射防止性を組み入れた封止OLEDディスプレイを製造する方法であって、
−基板上にOLEDディスプレイデバイスを生成する工程、
−反射防止性を提供する封止構造であって、液晶ポリマー層(5)が、OLEDデバイスと偏光層(6)の間にあるように、無機層(3)、光配向物質を含む層(4)、光配向物質を含む層と接触している液晶ポリマー層(5)、及び直線偏光層(6)を含む構造で、OLEDデバイスを封止する工程
を含む方法。 - 封止構造が、別個の基板上に製造され、続いてOLEDデバイスに適用される、請求項12記載の方法。
- 別個の基板が、偏光箔である、請求項13記載の方法。
