Claims (16)
- カソード電極が第2電源に接続される有機発光ダイオードと、
第3電源によってゲート電極が初期化されるとともに、第1電源から上記有機発光ダイオードを経由して前記第2電源に流れる電流の量を制御するための駆動トランジスタを含む画素回路と、
前記第3電源及び前記第2電源とは相異なる第4電源と、前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極との間に接続され、第i(iは自然数)走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる第1トランジスタと、
データ線と前記画素回路の間に接続され、前記第i走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる第2トランジスタと、を備えることを特徴とする画素。 - 前記第3電源は、前記第4電源より高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素。
- 前記第4電源は、前記第2電源より高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素。
- 前記第3電源は、前記データ線に供給されるデータ信号より低い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素。
- 前記画素回路は、
前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極と前記第3電源の間に接続され、第i−1走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる少なくとも1つの第3トランジスタと、
前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極と第2電極の間に接続され、前記第i走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる少なくとも1つの第4トランジスタと、
前記駆動トランジスタの第1電極と前記第1電源の間に接続され、前記第2トランジスタとターンオン期間が重ならない第5トランジスタと、
前記駆動トランジスタの第2電極と前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極との間に接続され、前記第5トランジスタと同時にターンオン及びターンオフされる第6トランジスタと、を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素。 - 前記第2トランジスタは、前記駆動トランジスタの第1電極に接続されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の画素。
- 走査線、データ線、及び発光制御線と接続されるように配置される画素と、
前記走査線に走査信号を供給するための走査駆動部と、
前記発光制御線に発光制御信号を供給するための発光駆動部と、
前記データ線にデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、を備え、
i(iは自然数)番目の水平ラインに位置する画素のそれぞれは、
カソード電極が第2電源に接続される有機発光ダイオードと、
第1電源から前記有機発光ダイオードを経由して前記第2電源に流れる電流の量を制御するための駆動トランジスタを含む画素回路と、
第3電源及び前記第2電源とは相異なる第4電源と前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極との間に接続され、第i走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる第1トランジスタと、
データ線と前記画素回路の間に接続され、前記第i走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる第2トランジスタと、
前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極と前記第3電源との間に接続され、第i−1走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる少なくとも1つの第3トランジスタと、を備えることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記第3電源は、前記第4電源より高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第4電源は、前記第2電源より高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第3電源は、前記データ信号より低い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 第i発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給される期間は、前記第i−1走査線に走査信号が供給される期間及び第i走査線に走査信号が供給される期間と重なることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記画素回路は、
前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極と第2電極の間に接続され、前記第i走査線に走査信号が供給されるときにターンオンされる少なくとも1つの第4トランジスタと、
前記駆動トランジスタの第1電極と前記第1電源の間に接続され、前記第i発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給されるときにターンオフされる第5トランジスタと、
前記駆動トランジスタの第2電極と前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極の間に接続され、前記第i発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給されるときにターンオフされる第6トランジスタと、を備えることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記第2トランジスタは、前記駆動トランジスタの第1電極に接続されることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 走査線及びデータ線と接続される画素と、前記画素のそれぞれに含まれ、データ信号に応じて有機発光ダイオードに供給される電流の量を制御する駆動トランジスタを含む有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法において、
第3電源の電圧を用いて前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極を初期化する段階と、
前記データ信号を保存するとともに前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極を第4電源の電圧に初期化する段階と、
前記データ信号に応じて、第1電源から前記有機発光ダイオードを経由して第2電源に流れる電流の量を制御する段階と、を含み、
前記第4電源は、前記第2電源より高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第3電源は、前記第4電源より高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第3電源は、前記データ信号より低い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
