Abstract
【解決手段】トナーとキャリア液とを含む液体現像剤を用いて形成されるトナー像を担持して移動可能な像担持体と、転写バイアスが印加されることにより、像担持体からトナー像を転写する転写部を形成する転写手段と、転写部にキャリア液を供給可能なキャリア液供給部と、転写部に前記転写バイアスを印加可能な転写電源と、転写部における電圧又は電流の少なくとも一方を検知する検知部と、非画像形成時に(ステップS11)、キャリア液供給部からキャリア液が転写部に供給された状態で(ステップS16)、転写手段から設定用バイアスを印加した際の検知部による検知結果に基づいて転写バイアスを設定する(ステップS17)制御部と、を備える。

Claims (5)
- トナーとキャリア液とを含む液体現像剤を用いて形成されるトナー像を担持して移動可能な像担持体と、
転写バイアスが印加されることにより、前記像担持体からトナー像を転写する転写部を形成する転写手段と、
前記転写部にキャリア液を供給可能なキャリア液供給部と、
前記転写部に前記転写バイアスを印加可能な転写電源と、
前記転写部における電圧又は電流の少なくとも一方を検知する検知部と、
非画像形成時に、前記キャリア液供給部からキャリア液が前記転写部に供給された状態で、前記転写手段から設定用バイアスを印加した際の前記検知部による検知結果に基づいて転写バイアスを設定する制御部と、を備える、
ことを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記キャリア液供給部は、現像バイアスが印加されることにより、前記像担持体に対して液体現像剤を供給可能であり、前記像担持体の表面上の静電潜像を現像部においてトナーにより現像する現像手段を有する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。 - 帯電バイアスにより前記像担持体を帯電する帯電手段を備え、
前記制御部は、前記帯電バイアスにより帯電された前記像担持体の帯電領域の先端が前記現像部を通過してから、前記現像バイアスが印加された前記現像手段により前記像担持体に液体現像液を供給し、前記像担持体の液体現像液の付着領域が前記転写部を通過してから、前記設定用バイアスを印加する、
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記制御部は、画像形成ジョブの前回転時に前記転写バイアスを設定する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記転写部の周囲の温度及び湿度の少なとも一方を環境情報として検知可能な環境検知部を備え、
前記制御部は、前記環境検知部により検知された前記転写部の周囲の前記環境情報に基づいて前記転写バイアスを設定する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
