Description
Claims (4)
- 感光体と、
帯電バイアスが印加され、前記感光体を帯電する帯電手段と、
前記感光体を露光して静電潜像を形成する露光手段と、
トナーとキャリア液とを含む液体現像剤を担持し、前記感光体の表面に現像部で接触され、現像バイアスが印加されて前記感光体の表面に形成された前記静電潜像をトナー像に現像する現像手段と、
転写バイアスが印加され、転写部において前記感光体からトナー像を転写する転写手段と、
前記転写手段に前記転写バイアスを印加可能な転写電源と、
前記転写手段に印加される電圧又は前記転写手段に流れる電流の少なくとも一方を検知する検知部と、
前記転写手段から設定用バイアスを印加した際の前記検知部による検知結果に基づいて転写バイアスを設定する制御部と、を備え、
前記制御部は、電源投入後の画像形成ジョブの実行前もしくは画像形成ジョブ中の前回転時において、前記帯電手段により前記感光体の表面電位を暗部電位に帯電させ、前記暗部電位に帯電された前記感光体の表面が前記現像部を通過しているときに、前記現像手段から前記感光体の表面にトナーが供給されないように前記キャリア液を付着させる動作を実行し、前記動作中に前記現像部を通過する前記感光体の領域が前記転写部に位置するときに、前記設定用バイアスを印加させるように前記転写電源を制御する、
ことを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記現像バイアスが印加された前記現像手段が前記感光体の表面に接触している状態で前記動作を実行する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記帯電手段により表面電位が暗部電位に帯電された前記感光体の表面が前記現像部を通過してから、液体現像剤を担持した前記現像手段を前記感光体の表面に接触させる、
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記転写部の周囲の温度及び湿度の少なとも一方を環境情報として検知可能な環境検知部を備え、
前記制御部は、前記環境検知部により検知された前記転写部の周囲の前記環境情報に基づいて前記転写バイアスを設定する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
