Abstract
【解決手段】本発明によるEPDMゴム組成物は、ムーニー粘度(ML1+8 at 125℃)値が90以上、5−エチリデン−2−ノルボルネン(ENB)含量が9重量%以上、遊離硫黄(free sulfur)と1,6−ビス(N,N−ジベンジルチオカルバモイルジチオ)−ヘキサン(BDBzTH)が含まれていることを特徴とする。

Description
(1)ムーニー粘度(ML1+8 at 125℃)値が90以上、5−エチリデン−2−ノルボルネン(ENB)含量が9重量%以上、オイルを含んでいないEPDMゴム100重量部と、
(2)遊離硫黄(free sulfur)0.5〜1.0重量部と、
(3)1,6−ビス(N,N−ジベンジルチオカルバモイルジチオ)−ヘキサン(BDBzTH)0.5〜1.5重量部と、
を含むウェザーストリップスポンジ用EPDMゴム組成物を提供する。
圧縮永久変形率に影響を与える一要素はEPDMゴムである。通常、ウェザーストリップスポンジの素材に用いられるEPDMゴムは、各工場の精錬機器の特性、押出機及び口金を容易に通過(well flow)し、その形状を維持しなければならないという点などを考慮して分子量(Molecular weight)を基準として下記表1に示すように3つの群に分類することができる。
本発明のEPDMゴム組成物には、加硫剤として遊離硫黄(free sulfur)を使用する。
本発明のEPDMゴム組成物には1,6−ビス(N,N−ジベンジルチオカルバモイルジチオ)−ヘキサン(BDBzTH)が含まれていることで、圧縮永久変形率(Compression set)を改善させる効果と、耐熱性の改善により変色が生じないという効果を期待することができる。
本発明のEPDMゴム組成物には通常の添加剤が含まれる。
本発明では、EPDMゴムに補強性を改善するためにゴム補強剤としてカーボンブラックを含む。前記カーボンブラックは、平均粒径、構造(structure)、表面性質と状態などによりゴムに多様な補強機能を付与するようになるが、本発明ではこのようなカーボンブラックの選択に特に制限はない。例えば、SRF、GPF、FEF、HAF、ISAF、SAF、FT、MTなどの通常のカーボンブラックから選択して使用できるが、本発明では、FTまたはFEFを好適に使用することができる。また、これらのカーボンブラックは、1種を単独で使用してもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。これらカーボンブラックの含量は、EPDMゴム100重量部を基準として20〜60重量部の範囲で使用することができる。前記カーボンブラックの含量が20重量部未満で、小量含まれる場合は目的とする機械的物性の補強効果が期待できなく、80重量部を超えると硬度の上昇及び流れ性の問題によって押出成形作業が難しくなる。
その他にも通常の発泡剤、通常の加工助剤を含んでもよい。
参考例1.EPDMゴムの準備
本実施例で使用されたEPDMゴムは、錦湖ポリケム製品KEP−2480、ランクセス(LANXESS)社のKeltan9950Cである。また、ウェザーストリップスポンジの要求物性を満足させるために現代自動車(株)と錦湖ポリケム(株)の共同研究により開発したKEP−9590を用いた。
下記の方法でゴム組成物の試片の物性を測定した。
一般物性は、加硫条件(155℃、20分)で測定し、各試片の耐熱特性を確認するために熱老化(Heat Aging)条件(70℃、70時間)で物性を測定した。
(1)ムーニー粘度:JIS K 6300により測定した。
(2)ショア硬さ:JIS規格のJIS K 6301により測定した。
(3)引張強度:JIS規格のJIS K 6301により測定した。
(4)伸び率:JIS規格のJIS K 6301により測定した。
(5)硬度変化:JIS K 6301により測定した。
(6)引張強度変化率:JIS K 6301により測定した。
(7)伸び率の変化率:JIS K 6301により測定した。
(8)圧縮永久変形率(Compression set):ディスク式(Disk type)70℃×22hr条件、JIS K 6301により測定した。
下記表1に示す組成比でEPDMゴム(KEP2480)に遊離硫黄、1,6−ビス(N,N−ジベンジルチオカルバモイルジチオ)−ヘキサン(BDBzTH)、加硫促進剤として2−メルカプトベンゾチアゾール(MBT)、テトラ(イソブチル)チウラムジスルフィド(TiBTD)、及びジブチルジチオカルバミン酸亜鉛(ZnDBC)、N,N−ジエチルチオ尿素(DETU)、及びカプロラクタムジスルフィド(CLD)の混合物、加硫促進助剤として酸化亜鉛(ZnO)とステアリン酸の混合物、及び通常の添加剤を入れて配合し、混錬してEPDMゴム組成物を製造した。
本実施例では、ムーニー粘度(ML1+8 at 125℃)が95で、ENB含量が10重量%のEPDMゴム(KEP9590)を主なポリマーとして使用するゴム組成物を製造した。
本実施例では、ムーニー粘度(ML1+4 at 125℃)が88で、ENB含量が9重量%のEPDMゴム(Keltan9950C)を主なポリマーとして使用するゴム組成物を製造した。
前記比較例、実施例9、実施例13で製造されたEPDMゴム組成物を押出成形した。そして、各成形品に対する圧縮永久変形率及び変色試験結果を下記表6に示す。
Claims (6)
- ムーニー粘度(ML1+8 at 125℃)値が90以上、5−エチリデン−2−ノルボルネン(ENB)含量が9重量%以上、オイルを含んでいないEPDMゴム100重量部と、
遊離硫黄(free sulfur)0.5〜1.0重量部と、
1,6−ビス(N,N−ジベンジルチオカルバモイルジチオ)−ヘキサン(BDBzTH)0.5〜1.5重量部と、
を含むことを特徴とするウェザーストリップスポンジ用EPDMゴム組成物。 - 前記EPDMゴムは、ムーニー粘度(ML1+8 at 125℃)値が90〜95、5−エチリデン−2−ノルボルネン(ENB)含量が9〜15重量%、オイルを含んでいないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のウェザーストリップスポンジ用EPDMゴム組成物。
- 前記組成物は、2−メルカプトベンゾチアゾール(2−Mercapto benzo thiazole、MBT)、テトラ(イソブチル)チウラムジスルフィド(Tetra(iso−butyl)thiuram disulfide、TiBTD)、及びジブチルジチオカルバミン酸亜鉛(Zinc dibutyl dithiocarbamate、ZnDBC)、N,N−ジエチルチオ尿素(N.N−diethylthiourea、DETU)、カプロラクタムジスルフィド(caprolactam disulfide、CLD)からなる群より選択された1種または2種以上の加硫促進剤をEPDMゴム100重量部を基準として2.5〜8重量部さらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のウェザーストリップスポンジ用EPDMゴム組成物。
- 前記組成物は、酸化亜鉛(ZnO)及びステアリン酸からなる群より選択された1種または2種以上の加硫促進助剤をEPDMゴム100重量部を基準として3.0〜8.0重量部をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のウェザーストリップスポンジ用EPDMゴム組成物。
- 圧縮永久変形率(Compression set)が12%未満であることを特徴とする請求項1から4のうち何れか1項に記載のウェザーストリップスポンジ用EPDMゴム組成物。
- 請求項1から4のうち何れか1項に記載のEPDMゴム組成物がスポンジの素材として用いられることを特徴とする自動車のウェザーストリップ。
