Abstract
Description
本出願は、2013年8月19日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/867,467号の利益を主張するものであり、その内容を参照により本明細書に援用する。

Claims (32)
- チタン生成物を製造する方法であって、
TiO2−スラグを得ること、
水素雰囲気下、中程度の温度及び圧力にて金属還元剤を使用して、前記TiO2−スラグ中の金属不純物から化学的に分離した前記チタン生成物を直接製造することにより、前記TiO2−スラグから前記チタン生成物を製造し、前記チタン生成物が、TiH2及び場合によりチタン元素を含み、並びに
前記チタン生成物から前記金属不純物を除去して、精製チタン生成物を生成すること、 を含む方法。 - 前記チタン生成物を製造する工程が、前記TiO2−スラグを前記金属還元剤により直接還元することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記製造する工程が、前記TiO2−スラグを前処理して、チタン酸ナトリウム、メタチタン酸、及び実質的に純粋な二酸化チタンの水洗した誘導体のうち少なくとも1つを含む中間生成物を製造すること、並びに、次に前記金属還元剤を使用して前記中間生成物を還元すること、を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記金属還元剤よりも強力な第2の還元剤を使用して、前記チタン生成物を、水素雰囲気下にて前記中程度の温度を超える高温にて脱酸し、粒子状チタン生成物を製造すること、前記粒子状チタン生成物を目標粒径範囲まで粗大化すること、及び、水素雰囲気下にて前記粒子状チタン生成物を冷却すること、を更に含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記金属還元剤が、Mg、MgH2、及びCaH2のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記金属還元剤が、Mg及びMgH2のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記TiO2−スラグを還元することが、前記TiO2−スラグ、前記金属還元剤、及び塩を組み合わせることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塩が、単成分塩化物塩、二成分塩化物塩、及び/又は三成分塩化物塩のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記塩が、MgCl2+NaCl、MgCl2+KCl、及びMgCl2+CaCl2のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記チタン生成物から前記金属不純物を除去することが、物理的分離技術及び化学的分離技術のうちの少なくとも1つを利用することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記チタン生成物から前記金属不純物を除去することが、前記金属不純物を浸出剤及び任意のキレート剤で浸出することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記精製したチタン生成物を脱水素化してチタン粉末を生成することを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記精製したチタン生成物を高度に脱酸して、前記精製したチタン生成物中の残留酸素を還元することを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記中程度の温度が約400℃〜約900℃である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記中程度の温度が約700℃〜約1200℃である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記圧力が約10〜約500kPa(約0.1bar〜約5bar)である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記圧力が約500kPa〜約10000kPa(約5bar〜約100bar)である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記TiO2−スラグを得ることが、イルメナイト、天然ルチル、及びリューコキシンのうちの少なくとも1つを含むチタン原料を炭素熱還元することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- チタン生成物を製造する方法であって、前記方法が
TiO2−スラグを得ること、
前記TiO2−スラグをアルカリ焙焼して前記スラグから不純物を除去し、アルカリ浸出したTiO2−スラグ、並びにチタン酸ナトリウム、メタチタン酸、及び純粋な二酸化チタンの水洗した誘導体、のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、中間生成物を製造すること、 TiH2、及び場合によりチタン元素を含むチタン生成物を製造するための温度及び圧力にて金属還元剤を使用して、前記中間生成物を還元すること、並びに
前記チタン生成物から不純物を除去して、精製したチタン生成物を形成すること、
を含む、方法。 - アルカリ焙焼が、
第2の温度にてNaOHと前記TiO2−スラグとを組み合わせて、TiO2をチタン酸ナトリウムに転換し、かつ不純物を塩に転換すること、及び
前記チタン酸ナトリウムを水で洗浄して前記塩を除去し、チタン酸ナトリウムの誘導体を製造すること
を含む、請求項19に記載の方法。 - 前記第2の温度が約450℃〜約650℃である、請求項20に記載の方法。
- アルカリ焙焼が、前記中間生成物から不純物を除去することを更に含む、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記中間生成物から不純物を除去することが、
前記アルカリ浸出したTiO2−スラグ、及び前記中間生成物の水洗した誘導体をHCl溶液で分解して塩化チタン溶液を製造すること、並びに
前記塩化チタン溶液を第3の温度にて加水分解し、メタチタン酸を製造すること
を含む、請求項19に記載の方法。 - 前記第3の温度が、前記塩化チタンのほぼ沸点である、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記金属還元剤が、Mg、MgH2、及びCaH2のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記TiO2−スラグが、アップグレードTiO2−スラグを含む、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記メタチタン酸を還元することが、前記メタチタン酸、前記金属還元剤、及び塩を組み合わせることを含む、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記塩が、一成分塩化物塩、二成分塩化物塩及び三成分塩化物塩のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項27に記載の方法。
- 前記チタン生成物から不純物を除去することが、前記不純物を浸出剤、及び場合によりキレート剤で浸出することを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記精製したチタン生成物を脱水素化することを更に含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記精製したチタン生成物を高度に脱酸して、前記チタン生成物中の残留酸素を還元することを更に含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記TiO2−スラグを得ることが、イルメナイト、天然ルチル、及びリューコキシンのうちの少なくとも1つを含むチタン原料を炭素熱還元することを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
