Abstract
【解決手段】継手の分解中に2つ以上の継手部品を分離するのを補助するように構成された継手アセンブリに関する。継手アセンブリ10には、ステップ状壁面を有する第1の継手部品14と、継手アセンブリが本締め前に手締めした状態である場合、第1の継手部品から半径方向に間隔を空けた第2の継手部品12とが設けられる。第2の継手部品が、継手本締め中にステップ状壁面と接触するように変位される場合、ステップ状壁面は継手分解時に第1の継手部品を第2の継手部品から分離するのを補助する。

Description
本出願は、米国仮特許出願第60/758,688号(「FITTING FOR TUBE OR PIPE」、2006年1月13日出願)、および米国仮特許出願第60/834,548号(「FITTING FOR TUBE OR PIPE」、2006年7月31日出願)による優先権を主張し、両者はその全体が本明細書において参照により全面的に援用される。
例えば、本明細書願発明は、以下の構成を記載する。
(項目1)
管端用の管継手であって、
管把持装置と、
管端を受ける、軸を中心とする管端ソケット、上記管把持装置を受ける、上記管端ソケットの軸方向外端に隣接するカム作用口部、および継手分解時に上記管端の除去を補助する、上記カム作用口部の軸方向に内側のステップ状壁面を有する継手本体と、
上記軸を中心とする凹所部であって、上記管把持装置を受けるように構成され、上記管把持装置を上記管端と係合させるための駆動面を含む凹所部、および上記駆動面の半径方向に外側の先細の長手面を含む内壁を有するドライブナットと
を備え、
上記管把持装置が、継手本締め中に上記先細の長手面と接触するように変位させられた場合、上記先細の長手面は継手分解中に上記ナットを上記管把持装置から分離させることを補助する、管継手。
(項目2)
上記管把持装置はフェルールを備える、項目1に記載の管継手。
(項目3)
上記管把持装置は第1および第2のフェルールを備え、上記ドライブナットは第1および第2の先細の長手面を備え、上記第1および第2の先細の長手面のそれぞれは、継手分解中に上記ナットを上記第1および第2のフェルールのうちの対応する1つから分離するのを補助するように適合される、項目1に記載の管継手。
(項目4)
上記第1および第2の先細の長手面は、互いに不連続である、項目1に記載の管継手。(項目5)
管捕捉面、および上記管捕捉面と不連続なステップ状壁面を有する継手本体と、
上記継手アセンブリが本締め前に手締めした状態である場合、上記ステップ状壁面から半径方向に間隔を空けた導管と
を備え、
上記導管が、継手本締め中に上記ステップ状壁面と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、上記ステップ状壁面は継手分解時に上記継手本体を上記導管から分離するのを補助する、継手アセンブリ。
(項目6)
上記ステップ状壁面は先細である、項目5に記載の継手アセンブリ。
(項目7)
上記ステップ状壁面は円錐台形である、項目5に記載の継手アセンブリ。
(項目8)
上記継手本体は、上記ステップ状壁面の軸方向に外側の凹所に設けられた壁面をさらに備える、項目5に記載の継手アセンブリ。
(項目9)
継手アセンブリであって、
先細の長手面を有する雌ネジ付きドライブナットと、
上記継手アセンブリが本締め前に手締めした状態である場合、上記先細の長手面から半径方向に間隔を空けた管把持部材と
を備え、
上記管把持部材が、継手本締め中に上記先細の長手面と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、上記先細の長手面は継手分解時に上記ドライブナットを上記管把持部材から分離させることを補助する、継手アセンブリ。
(項目10)
上記先細の長手面は円錐台形である、項目9に記載の継手アセンブリ。
(項目11)
先細の管捕捉面を有する管ソケットおよび上記管捕捉面から半径方向に間隔を空けた凹所に設けられた壁面を含む本体と、
継手本締め前は上記管捕捉面と軸方向に位置が合っている端部を有する管と
を備え、
上記継手アセンブリが本締めされる際、上記管ソケットと上記管端部との間の係合は、上記管ソケットと管端部との間に軸方向および半径方向の反力成分を作り出し、その結果、上記継手が緩められると、上記軸方向成分力は上記管を上記本体に対して軸方向に移動させることを補助し、上記管端部を上記管捕捉面から分離して上記凹所に設けられた壁面と軸方向に位置が合うようにし、上記本体と上記管との間の上記半径方向成分力を低減し、それにより、上記継手アセンブリの分解中における上記本体および上記管の分離を補助する、継手アセンブリ。
(項目12)
上記管ソケットは、上記管捕捉面と上記凹所に設けられた壁面との間にステップ部分をさらに備える、項目11に記載の継手アセンブリ。
(項目13)
上記ステップ部分は先細である、項目12に記載の継手アセンブリ。
(項目14)
継手用のドライブナットであって、
雄ネジ付き継手本体と組み立てるように構成された雌ネジ付き部分と、
第1の管把持部材の少なくとも一部を受けるように構成された凹所部分であって、継手本体への本締め中に上記第1の管把持部材を管と係合させるための半径方向の駆動面、および上記駆動面の半径方向に外側の先細の長手面を備える内壁を含む凹所部分と
を備え、
上記第1の管把持部材が、継手本締め中に上記先細の長手面と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、上記先細の長手面は継手分解中に上記ナットを上記第1の管把持部材から分離するのを補助する、ドライブナット。
(項目15)
上記凹所部は第1および第2の管把持部材を受けるように適合され、上記内壁は上記駆動面の半径方向に外側の第2の先細の長手面をさらに備え、上記第2の管把持部材が、継手本締め中に上記第2の先細の長手面と接触するように変位される場合、上記第2の先細の長手面は継手分解中に上記ナットを第2の管把持部材から分離するのを補助する、項目14に記載のドライブナット。
(項目16)
上記第1および第2の先細の長手面は不連続である、項目15に記載のドライブナット。
(項目17)
管継手本体との組み立てのために雌ネジ付きドライブナットを提供するステップと、
上記ドライブナットおよび管把持装置を上記管継手本体と組み立てて本締めする際に、管把持装置の少なくとも一部を係合する先細の長手面を上記雌ネジ付きドライブナットの内壁に形成するステップと
を含む、方法。
(項目18)
管端を受けるための、軸を中心とする管端ソケットと、
上記管端を捕捉するための先細の管捕捉面と、
上記管端ソケットの軸方向外端付近のカム作用面と
を備え、
上記管端ソケットは、上記管捕捉面と上記カム作用面との間に軸方向に中間壁面を含み、上記中間壁面は、上記管捕捉面および上記カム作用面のそれぞれと不連続なステップ部分を含む、継手部品。
(項目19)
上記中間壁面の上記ステップ部分は先細である、項目18に記載の継手部品。
(項目20)
上記中間壁面の上記ステップ部分は、上記軸に対して上記管捕捉面よりも著しく小さい角度で先細になっている、項目18に記載の継手部品。
(項目21)
上記継手部品は雄ネジ付き管継手本体を備える、項目18に記載の継手部品。
(項目22)
上記継手部品は雌ネジ付き管継手本体を備える、項目18に記載の継手部品。
(項目23)
上記継手部品は継手取り付け工具を備える、項目18に記載の継手部品。
(項目24)
上記中間壁面の上記ステップ部分は、上記軸に対して約50分から約1度50分の角度で延び、上記管捕捉面は、上記軸に対して約4度の角度で延びる、項目18に記載の継手部品。
(項目25)
継手本体を提供するステップと、
上記継手本体内に、軸方向内側の先細の管捕捉面を形成するステップと、
上記継手本体内に、軸方向外側の先細のカム作用口部を形成するステップと、
上記継手本体内に、上記管捕捉面と上記カム作用口部との間に軸方向に位置する中間壁面を形成するステップと
を含み、
上記中間壁面は、上記管捕捉面および上記カム作用口部のそれぞれと不連続なステップ部分を含む、方法。
(項目26)
管端を受けるためのソケットを備える継手部品であって、上記ソケットは、軸方向の長手壁面と、上記軸方向の長手壁面の軸方向内端から軸方向に内へおよび半径方向に内へ延びる表面を備える肩部とによって画定され、管端が上記ソケット内に挿入されて上記肩部に対して軸方向に圧縮された際、上記肩部表面は、軸方向圧縮中における上記管端の半径方向に外への拡張を低減するために、上記管端に対して半径方向に内への旋回力を与えるように構成される、継手部品。

上記肩部表面の少なくとも一部は円錐台形である、項目26に記載の継手部品。
(項目28)
上記継手部品は継手本体を備える、項目26に記載の継手部品。
(項目29)
上記継手部品は継手取り付け工具を備える、項目26に記載の継手部品。
(項目30)
上記軸方向の長手壁面はステップ部分を含むため、上記管端が、上記ソケット内の上記管端の軸方向圧縮中に上記ステップ部分と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、上記ステップ部分は分解中に上記管端を上記継手部品から分離するのを補助する、項目26に記載の継手部品。
