Description
上述のようにして製造された円筒状のUO2中間生成物14は、450℃で3時間酸化された。その際に生じたU3O8-z粉末は、0.2%のプレス補助剤(PEワックス)と混合され、5g/cm3〜5.5g/cm3の密度で、1gの重量の円筒状未加工品15に圧縮される。未加工品15は、次いで、炉中で焼結雰囲気としての空気により1時間、1,280℃(チャージA)又は1,100℃(チャージB)で焼結される。

Claims (11)
- 下記の工程を有する酸化ウラン触媒体の製造方法。
a)少なくとも50%の純度のUO2+x粉末(2)(ここで、x≦0.7である。)が第1の焼結プロセスにおいて焼結されてUO2+y中間生成物(14)(ここで、y≦0.25である。)となる工程、
b)UO2+y中間生成物(14)が酸素で酸化され、U3O8-z粉末(11)(ここで、z≦1である。)に変換される工程、
c)U3O8-z粉末(11)が圧縮されて、後の触媒体(1)に対応する形状を有する未加工品(15)となる工程、及び
d)未加工品(15)が、第2の焼結プロセスにおいて、酸素を含有する焼結雰囲気中、900℃以上で焼結される工程。 - 工程a)においてUF6、UO3、UNH、U3O8又はUF4の変換により得られたUO2+x粉末(2)が使用されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程a)において粉末粒子が5μm〜500μmの平均粒径を有するUO2+x粉末(2)が使用されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 10μm〜150μmの平均粒径を有するUO2+x粉末(2)が使用されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 粉末粒子(3)が30nm〜300nmの平均径を有する微結晶(4)から成るUO2+x粉末(2)が使用されることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 工程b)によるUO2+y中間生成物(14)の酸化が300℃以上の温度で行なわれることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 酸化が400℃〜500℃で行なわれることを特徴とする請求項6記載の方法。
- 触媒体(1)の未加工品(15)が900℃〜1,300℃で焼結されることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 工程d)の後に触媒体(1)が還元され、U3O8-zがUO2に変換されることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 還元が300℃〜1,000℃の温度で行なわれることを特徴とする請求項9記載の方法。
- 還元が400℃〜600℃の温度で行なわれることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
