Abstract
【解決手段】本薄膜太陽電池は、金属基板と、前記金属基板上に形成されたガラス絶縁層と、前記ガラス絶縁層上に製膜された第1の電極層と、前記第1の電極層上に製膜された薄膜光吸収層と、前記薄膜光吸収層上に製膜された第2の電極層と、を有し、前記ガラス絶縁層の線膨張係数は、前記金属基板の線膨張係数よりも所定の値だけ大きい。

Description
[第1の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池の構造]
図1は、第1の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池を例示する断面図である。図1を参照するに、薄膜太陽電池10は、金属基板11と、耐腐食層12と、ガラス絶縁層13と、第1の電極層14と、薄膜光吸収層15と、第2の電極層16とを有する。薄膜太陽電池10において、金属基板11の一方の側には、ガラス絶縁層13、第1の電極層14、薄膜光吸収層15、及び第2の電極層16が順次積層されており、他方の側には耐腐食層12が形成されている。但し、耐腐食層12の有無は本実施の形態の目的においては任意である。以下、薄膜太陽電池10を構成する各要素について説明する。
次に、第1の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池の製造方法について説明する。ここでは、一例として、薄膜光吸収層15としてCIS系化合物系薄膜を用いたCIS系の化合物系薄膜太陽電池の製造方法について説明する。図2は、第1の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池の製造工程を例示する図である。
第2の実施の形態では、表面にアルミナ層を形成した金属基板(アルミニウム含有ステンレス基板)を用いた薄膜太陽電池の例を示す。アルミニウム含有ステンレス基板は、表面の熱酸化という簡単な方法によって、表面に均一なアルミナ層を形成することが可能である。このようにして形成されたアルミナ層は、前述した第1の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池10の一例であるCIS系の化合物系薄膜太陽電池の製造工程で使用される腐食性ガスに対して安定であるため、先に述べたシリカによる耐腐食層12に代わる新しい耐腐食層として有望である。なお、第2の実施の形態において、既に説明した実施の形態と同一構成部品についての説明は省略する。
図3は、第2の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池を例示する断面図である。図3を参照するに、薄膜太陽電池20は、金属基板11及び耐腐食層12が金属基板21及びアルミナ層22に置換された点が、薄膜太陽電池10(図1参照)と相違する。
次に、第2の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池の製造方法について説明する。ここでは、一例として、薄膜光吸収層15としてCIS系化合物系薄膜を用いたCIS系の化合物系薄膜太陽電池の製造方法について説明する。図4は、第2の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池の製造工程を例示する図である。
第1又は第2の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池において、金属基板としてステンレス基板を使用した場合における反りの抑制について検討した。
第1又は第2の実施の形態に係る薄膜太陽電池において、金属基板としてアルミニウム含有ステンレス基板を使用した場合における反りの抑制について検討した。
実施例1及び2では、厚さ約0.3mmの金属基板と厚さ約30μmのガラス絶縁層の組み合わせについて検討したが、例えばガラス絶縁層の厚さを半分にすれば、反り量は約半分になる(但し、反りの理論式からの近似値として)。つまり、同じ反り量(の限界値)を確保できるΔの範囲は、実施例1及び2の場合よりも広くなる。そこで、実施例3では、金属基板とガラス絶縁層の厚さの組み合わせを変えた場合の好適なΔの範囲について検討した。

Claims (11)
- 金属基板と、
前記金属基板上に形成されたガラス絶縁層と、
前記ガラス絶縁層上に製膜された第1の電極層と、
前記第1の電極層上に製膜された薄膜光吸収層と、
前記薄膜光吸収層上に製膜された第2の電極層と、を有し、
前記ガラス絶縁層の線膨張係数は、前記金属基板の線膨張係数よりも所定の値だけ大きい薄膜太陽電池。 - 前記ガラス絶縁層は、焼成によって形成された層である請求項1記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記所定の値は、0.03×10−6(1/K)以上0.78×10−6(1/K)以下である請求項1又は2記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記金属基板の厚さは0.2mm以上0.4mm以下であり、前記ガラス絶縁層の厚さは16μm以上40μm以下である請求項1乃至3の何れか一項記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記金属基板は、鉄を主成分としクロム(Cr)を含有している請求項1乃至4の何れか一項記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記金属基板は、ステンレス基板である請求項5記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記金属基板は、フェライト系ステンレス基板である請求項6記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記金属基板は、更にアルミニウム(Al)を含有している請求項5乃至7の何れか一項記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記薄膜光吸収層は、化合物系薄膜である請求項1乃至8の何れか一項記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記薄膜光吸収層は、CIS系化合物系薄膜である請求項9記載の薄膜太陽電池。
- 前記薄膜光吸収層は、熱処理工程を経て形成された層である請求項1乃至10の何れか一項記載の薄膜太陽電池。
