Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示装置は、上部基板114と下部基板112を有する液晶表示パネル110と、光源モジュール123から入射される光を液晶表示パネル110に照射する導光板121及び導光板121上に配置された光学シート127を含むバックライトユニット120と、液晶表示パネル110と導光板121の間に密閉空間SSが設けられるように光学シート127を介して液晶表示パネル110と導光板121を合着させる合着部材130とを、含んで構成されることを特徴とする。

図4を参照すると、本発明の第1実施例による液晶表示装置は液晶表示パネル110、バックライトユニット120、合着部材130、下部ケース140、光源ケース150、及び上部ケース160を含む。
図8を参照すると、本発明の第3実施例による液晶表示装置は液晶表示パネル110、バックライトユニット120、合着部材130、下部ケース140、光源ケース150、及びパネルエッジ保護部材300を含む。このような本発明の第3実施例による液晶表示装置はパネルエッジ保護部材300を追加して構成され、図4または図6に示された液晶表示装置において上部ケースが省略されて構成されたものである。以下では、相違する構成についてのみ説明する。

Claims (11)
- 上部基板と下部基板を有する液晶表示パネルと、
光源モジュールから入射される光を上記液晶表示パネルに照射する導光板及び上記導光板上に配置された光学シートを含むバックライトユニットと、
上記液晶表示パネルと上記導光板の間に密閉空間が設けられるように上記光学シートを介して上記液晶表示パネルと上記導光板を合着させる合着部材とを含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 上記合着部材は、
上記導光板の各側面から離隔されるように上記導光板の上面に一定の高さと幅を有するように形成されて上記液晶表示パネルを支持するバンクと、
上記バンクの外周部における上記導光板の縁部と上記液晶表示パネルの間の対向空間に形成されて上記液晶表示パネルと上記導光板を合着させ、上記バンクの外周部をシーリングするシーリング部材とを含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 上記液晶表示パネルは、上記下部基板に貼着されて上記密閉空間で上記光学シートの上面全体領域と面接触する下部偏光部材をさらに含み、
上記合着部材は、上記下部基板と上記導光板の間に形成されたことを特徴とする請求項1または2のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 上記合着部材は、上記光学シートの側面を取り囲むように上記導光板の上面縁部部分に形成されたことを特徴とする請求項1または2のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記合着部材は、両面テープ、接着樹脂、及び接着パッドのうちいずれか1つであることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記シーリング部材は、光硬化物質からなることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記バックライトユニットを収納する下部ケースと、
上記液晶表示パネルに対向する上記光源モジュールの上部を覆うように上記下部ケースに結合された光源ケースと、
上記下部ケースと上記光源ケースそれぞれの側面と上記液晶表示パネルの上面縁部部分を取り囲む上部ケースとをさらに含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のうちいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 上記液晶表示パネルのエッジ部を覆うように形成されたパネルエッジ保護部材をさらに含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のうちいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記バックライトユニットを支持する支持部、及び上記支持部から液晶表示パネルの下面に折曲されて上記バックライトユニットと上記合着部材の側面を取り囲む側壁部からなる下部ケースと、
上記液晶表示パネルに対向する上記光源モジュールの上部を覆うように上記下部ケースに結合された光源ケースとをさらに含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 上記パネルエッジ保護部材と上記側壁部の間のギャップ空間を封止するとともに上記パネルエッジ保護部材と上記光源ケースの間のギャップ空間を封止するギャップ封止部材をさらに含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記液晶表示パネルの面積は、上記下部ケースの最外寸の面積と同一であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。
