Abstract
Description
プレーナ(planar)構造を形成する複数の光導波路を備える光学デバイスであって、各光導波路は合計長さを有し、少なくとも1つの光導波路は、1つ又は複数の第1のセグメント及び1つ又は複数の第2のセグメントを備え、
前記少なくとも1つの光導波路では、各第1のセグメントは第1の幅を有し、各第2のセグメントは第2の幅を有し、前記第1の幅は前記第2の幅よりも広く、
前記少なくとも1つの光導波路内の前記1つ又は複数の第2のセグメントの長さの合計は、前記導波路の合計長さの半分の長さより短い、光学デバイスを提供することを目的としている。
にしたがって変化し、ΔLeff(i)は2つの連続する導波路間の実効光経路長差であり、na及びnbはそれぞれ前記第1のセグメント及び前記第2のセグメントの屈折率であり、Tは温度であり、|ΔLa|は2つの連続する導波路間の前記第1のセグメントの合計長さの差の絶対値であり、|ΔLb|は同じ連続する導波路間の前記第2のセグメントの合計長さの差の絶対値である。

Claims (10)
- プレーナ構造を形成する複数の光導波路(31,32)を備える光学デバイス(30)であって、各光導波路は合計長さ(Li)を有し、少なくとも1つの光導波路(31,32)は1つ又は複数の第1のセグメント及び少なくとも1つ又は複数の第2のセグメントを備え、
前記少なくとも1つの光導波路(31,32)では、各第1のセグメントが第1の幅(Wa)及び第1の長さ(Lai)を有し、各第2のセグメントが第2の幅(Wb)及び第2の長さ(Lbi)を有し、前記第1の幅(Wa)は前記第2の幅(Wb)より広く、
前記少なくとも1つの光導波路内の前記1つ又は複数の第2のセグメント(Wb)の長さ(Lbi)の合計は、前記導波路の合計長さの半分より短い光学デバイスにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの光導波路内の前記1つ又は複数の第2のセグメント(Wb)の長さの前記合計は、前記少なくとも1つの導波路内を進行する光信号の波長の約500倍未満である、光学デバイス。 - 少なくとも1つの光導波路内の前記第2のセグメント(Wb)の合計長さは、前記少なくとも1つの導波路内を進行する光信号の波長の約100倍未満である、請求項1に記載の光学デバイス。
- 少なくとも1つの導波路は第2のセグメントを持たない、請求項1又は2に記載の光学デバイス。
- 各光導波路内の前記1つ又は複数の第1のセグメント(Wa)の長さの合計は、前記導波路の合計長さの75%より長い、請求項1に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記少なくとも1つの光導波路は1つ又は複数の第3のセグメントを有し、前記第3のセグメントは、前記第1の幅(Wa)より狭く、前記第1の幅(Wa)及び前記第2の幅(Wb)とは異なる第3の幅を有する、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記複数の導波路は、連続的に配置されて前記プレーナ構造を形成し、前記第1のセグメント(Wa)の合計長さ及び前記第2のセグメント(Wb)の合計長さは、ある導波路から連続する導波路に、以下の関係、
- 光学フィルタ又はマルチプレクサ/デマルチプレクサは、アレイ導波路回折格子又は干渉計である、請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の光学フィルタ又は光学マルチプレクサ/デマルチプレクサを備える、フォトニック集積回路。
- 請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の光学フィルタ又は光学マルチプレクサ/デマルチプレクサ、或いは請求項9に記載のフォトニック集積回路を備える、光学機器。
