Abstract
Description

孔の屈折率と結合剤の屈折率との差が十分に小さい場合など、場合によっては、光学フィルムの有効屈折率は、以下の式で近似され得る。
そのような場合、低屈折率光学フィルムの有効屈折率は、空隙及び結合剤の屈折率の体積加重平均となる。例えば、空隙の体積分率が約50%である光学フィルム及び屈折率が約1.5である結合剤は、約1.25の有効屈折率を有する。
第1の表面と、光ガイドの主光出射面を構成する第2の表面と、を有する光ガイドと、
光方向転換フィルムと、
光ガイドと光方向転換フィルムとの間に配置され、1.35以下の屈折率を有し、光ガイドの第2の表面及び光方向転換フィルムに接着された低屈折率層と、を含む。
光ガイドが吸収率A1を有し、
光方向転換フィルムが、A1よりも大きい吸収率を有する。
屈折率Nuliを有し、Nuliが約1.35以下である、低屈折率層と、
高吸収層と、
光方向転換フィルムと、を含み、光学構造体内の隣接する2つのフィルムのそれぞれの相当部分が、互いに物理的に接触している。
結合剤と、
複数の粒子と、を更に含み、結合剤と複数の空隙との重量比が約1:2以上である。
第1の表面と、第2の表面と、屈折率N1と、を有し、第2の表面が光ガイドの主光出射面である、少なくとも1つの光ガイドと、
屈折率Nuliを有し、NuliがN1未満である、低屈折率層と、
光方向転換フィルムと、を含み、光学構造体内の隣接する2つのフィルムのそれぞれの相当部分が、互いに物理的に接触している。
光ガイドが光抽出機構を含み、
低屈折率層が、低屈折率層を備えない光学構造体と比較して、光抽出機構によって光が抽出されるまでは高吸収層に入射する光量を減少させるように構成されている。
光ガイドが光輸送軸に沿って光を輸送し、
光方向転換フィルムが、光輸送軸に対して実質的に平行に配向されている屈折構造体を含む。
結合剤と、
複数の粒子と、を更に含み、結合剤と複数の空隙との重量比が約1:2以上である。
第1及び第2の主表面と、屈折率N1と、を有する光ガイドと、
第1及び第2の主表面を有し、屈折率Nuliを有し、NuliはN1未満であり、低屈折率層の第1の主表面の相当部分が、光ガイドの第2の主表面と物理的に接触している、低屈折率層と、
第1の主表面と、第2の主表面と、を有し、高吸収層の第1の主表面の相当部分が、低屈折率層の第2の主表面と物理的に接触している、高吸収層と、
第1の主表面と、第2の主表面と、を有し、第1の主表面が線状プリズムを含み、光方向転換フィルムの第1の主表面の相当部分が、高吸収層の第2の主表面と物理的に接触している、プリズムフィルムと、を含み、低屈折率層が第1の組の出射角で光ガイドから出射する光を反射し、光方向転換フィルムが第2の組の出射角で光ガイドから出射する光を反射するように構成されている。
Claims (10)
- 光学構成体であって、
少なくとも1つの光ガイドであって、第1の表面と、第2の表面と、屈折率N1と、を有し、前記第2の表面が前記光ガイドの主光出射面である、少なくとも1つの光ガイドと、
屈折率Nuliを有し、NuliがN1未満である、低屈折率層と、
光方向転換フィルムと、
を含み、
前記光学構造体内の隣接する2つのフィルムのそれぞれの相当部分が、互いに物理的に接触している、光学構造体。 - 前記低屈折率層と前記光方向転換フィルムとの間に高吸収層を更に含み、前記高吸収層が、前記光ガイドの吸収率の約2倍である吸収率を有する、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
- 前記光ガイドが光抽出機構を含み、
前記低屈折率層が、前記低屈折率層を備えない光学構造体と比較して、光抽出機構によって光が抽出されるまでは前記高吸収層に入射する光量を減少させるように構成されている、請求項2に記載の光学構造体。 - 前記高吸収層が反射偏光子を含む、請求項2に記載の光学構造体。
- 前記光方向転換フィルムが、第1の表面と、第2の表面と、を含み、前記光方向転換フィルムの前記第2の表面が、その上に配置された屈折構造体を有し、前記光方向転換フィルムの前記第2の表面が前記光ガイドから離れて配置される、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
- 高吸収層を更に含み、前記光ガイドが吸収率A1を有し、前記高吸収層が吸収率A2を有し、A2がA1よりも大きい、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
- ダウンコンバート要素を更に含む、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
- Nuliが約1.10〜約1.35の範囲である、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
- 前記低屈折率層の厚さが、約2マイクロメートル以上である、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
- 前記低屈折率層が、複数の相互接続した空隙を含み、前記複数の空隙の体積分率が約40%以上であり、前記複数の空隙の局所体積分率が前記低屈折率層の厚さ方向に沿って変化する、請求項1に記載の光学構造体。
