Claims (23)
- タッチ検知層であって、物体が該タッチ検知層にタッチしたかどうかを検知するように、かつ、該タッチ検知層の接触場所を検知するように構成された、タッチ検知層と、
第1の電極層及び第2の電極層であって、これらの電極層のうちの一方の電極の少なくとも一部が前記タッチ検知層の少なくとも一部に接続されている、第1の電極層及び第2の電極層と、
前記第1の電極層と前記第2の電極層との間に接続され、ポリマーマトリックス状に配置された複数の圧電ロッドを有する複合物圧電層と、
画像を視覚的に表示するように構成されたディスプレイ層と、
前記第1の電極層及び前記第2の電極層に交流電圧を印加するように構成された駆動回路と、
を具備する入力/出力装置。 - 前記複数の圧電ロッドが前記複合物圧電層の幅全体に広がっており、各圧電ロッドが前記第1の電極層及び前記第2の電極層に接触するようになっている、請求項1に記載の入力/出力装置。
- 前記複数の圧電ロッドは、前記交流電圧により励起されたときに、長手方向に膨張及び収縮する、請求項1に記載の入力/出力装置。
- 前記複数の圧電ロッドが膨張及び伸縮することによって、前記タッチ検知層は、前記ディスプレイ層の面又は接線に垂直な方向に移動させられる、請求項3に記載の入力/出力装置。
- 前記複数の圧電ロッドが膨張及び伸縮することによって、前記複数の圧電ロッドが配置されているポリマーマトリックスの振動を生じさせる、請求項3に記載の入力/出力装置。
- 前記ポリマーマトリックスが、剛性特性、減衰特性、サスペンション特性、又は、振動特性を含む群から選択された特定の特性を含む、請求項5に記載の入力/出力装置。
- 前記ディスプレイ層が液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)を含む、請求項1に記載の入力/出力装置。
- ユーザに画像を視覚的に表示するように構成されたディスプレイ装置と、
前記ユーザとの接触を検知するように構成されたタッチ検知装置と、
前記ディスプレイ装置と前記タッチ検知装置との間に配置され、触覚フィードバックを前記ユーザに提供するように構成された複合物圧電層と、
を具備する人とコンピュータとの間のインタフェイス。 - 前記複合物圧電層が実質的に平らであってその中心に切り抜きを有し、
前記複合物圧電層が、さらに、前記タッチ検知装置の周囲部分を前記ディスプレイ装置の周囲部分に取り付けるように構成されている、請求項8に記載のインタフェイス - 前記ディスプレイ装置、前記タッチ検知装置及び前記複合物圧電層を保護するように構成された保護層をさらに具備する、請求項8に記載のインタフェイス。
- 前記複合物圧電層が接着テープに類似した形状要素を有する、請求項8に記載のインタフェイス。
- 前記複合物圧電層が環境から前記ディスプレイをシールするように構成されている、請求項11に記載のインタフェイス。
- 前記複合物圧電層が、ポリマーマトリックス全体に横方向に広がる複数の圧電ロッドを含む、請求項8に記載のインタフェイス。
- 前記複合物圧電層は、その幅を変化させるように変形することにより、前記タッチ検知装置を前記ディスプレイ装置に対して上下方向に移動させる、ように構成されている、請求項13に記載のインタフェイス。
- 前記複合物圧電層は、可撓性を有するものであって、前記ディスプレイ装置の形状に従う、請求項8に記載のインタフェイス。
- 前記ディスプレイ装置が液晶ディスプレイである請求項8に記載のインタフェイス。
- 電子装置であって、
該電子装置の動作を制御するように構成された処理装置と、
触覚効果を発生させるように構成された入力/出力装置と、
を具備し、
前記入力/出力装置が、ポリマーマトリックス状に埋め込まれた複数の圧電ロッドを有する複合物圧電材料を少なくとも含む、電子装置。 - 移動電話、ゲーム装置、携帯用情報端末、携帯型電子メール装置、携帯型インターネットアクセス装置、又は、計算機を含む装置の群から選択された携帯型装置である、請求項17に記載の電子装置。
- デスクトップコンピュータ、ラップトップコンピュータ、ワークブック、キヨスク、プリンタ、又は、店頭の装置を含む装置の群から選択された装置である、請求項17に記載の電子装置。
- 前記入力/出力装置が、タッチスクリーン装置又はタッチパッド装置を含む装置の群から選択された人とコンピュータとの間のインタフェイスである、請求項17に記載の電子装置。
- 前記人とコンピュータとの間のインタフェイスが、タッチスクリーン、タッチパッド、コンピュータのモニタ、ラップトップのディスプレイ装置、又は、キヨスクスクリーンを含む装置の群から選択されたものである、請求項20に記載の電子装置。
- 前記入力/出力装置が、物体によりタッチされたときに触覚効果を発生させるように構成されている、請求項17に記載の電子装置。
- 前記物体がユーザにより制御された物体である、請求項22に記載の電子装置。
