Abstract
自動車の制動装置のディスクブレーキパッド、ブレーキシューに使用される摩擦材に関し、充分で安定した制動力と充分な機械的強度を有する摩擦材を提供すること。
【解決手段】
金属単体および合金を含まない摩擦材において、前記摩擦材が、平均粒径10〜50μmの板状チタン酸塩と、含水珪酸マグネシウムとを合計で摩擦材全量に対し20〜30体積%含有し、かつ、前記板状チタン酸塩と前記含水珪酸マグネシウムの体積比が12:1〜5:1であること。
また、前記板状チタン酸塩の平均粒径が20〜40μmであること、前記板状チタン酸塩が、6チタン酸カリウムであることが好ましい。

Description
しかし、板状チタン酸塩を多量に添加すると、摩擦材と相手部材の摺動時に相手部材の摺動面に形成される板状チタン酸塩の移着被膜が厚くなりすぎ、その結果、摩擦係数が低下し、充分な制動力を得られなくなるという問題が生じる。
なお、本発明において平均粒径は、レーザー回折粒度分布法により測定した50%粒径の数値を用いた。
表1、表2に示す組成の摩擦材組成物をレディゲミキサーにて5分間混合し、成形金型内で10MPaにて1分加圧して予備成形をした。この予備成形物を、予め洗浄、表面処理、接着剤を塗布した鋼鉄製のバックプレート上に重ね、熱成形型内で成形温度150℃、成形圧力40MPaの条件下で10分間成形した後、200℃で5時間熱処理(後硬化)を行い、研磨して乗用車用ディスクブレーキパッドを作製した(実施例1〜9、比較例1〜7)。機械的強度として耐摩耗性、制動力、制動力の安定性について評価を行った。結果を表1、表2に、評価方法・評価基準を表3に示す。

Claims (3)
- 金属単体および合金を含まない摩擦材において、前記摩擦材が、平均粒径10〜50μmの板状チタン酸塩と、含水珪酸マグネシウムとを合計で摩擦材全量に対し20〜30体積%含有し、かつ、前記チタン酸塩と前記含水珪酸マグネシウムの体積比が12:1〜5:1であることを特徴とする摩擦材。
- 前記板状チタン酸塩の平均粒径が20〜40μmであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の摩擦材。
- 前記板状チタン酸塩が6チタン酸カリウムであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の摩擦材。
