Abstract
Description
(a)摩擦材に含まれる硬質の無機摩擦調整材によるアブレシブ摩耗により、相手材であるディスクロータが摩耗し、ディスクロータの摩耗粉が発生する。そして、その摩耗粉が摩擦材の表面を摩耗するため、摩擦材の摩耗粉の発生が促進される。
(b)軽負荷の制動を繰り返すことにより、摩擦材と相手材の摺動面に存在する摩耗粉がせん断力を受けて微細化する。
(c)このような状態で摩擦材と相手材の摺動面に水分が入り込み、さらに軽負荷制動が繰り返されると、微細化した摩耗粉が水で練られ、摩耗粉凝集体が生成される。
(d)この摩耗粉凝集体中に存在するディスクロータの摩耗粉などの鉄成分を起点として錆が発生し、摩耗粉凝集体の凝集力が強固となる。
(e)そのような摩耗粉凝集体が摩擦材とディスクロータの摺動面に存在している状態で制動すると、せん断力により摩耗粉凝集体が崩れ、摩擦材と相手材の滑りが起こり、その振動により低周波異音が発生する。
その結果、摩耗粉が水分と馴染みにくくなり、摩耗粉凝集体の生成が抑制され、停止際異音の発生を防止することができる。
中でも、耐熱性の観点からポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)の粉末を単独で用いることが好ましい。
結合材の含有量は摩擦材組成物全量に対して5〜10重量%とするのが好ましく、6〜8重量%とするのがより好ましい。
繊維基材の含有量は摩擦材組成物全量に対して1〜10重量%とするのが好ましく、2〜4重量%とするのがより好ましい。
潤滑材の含有量は、上記の平均粒子径が10〜1000μmのフッ素系ポリマー粒子と合わせて摩擦材組成物全量に対して5〜13重量%とするのが好ましく、6〜11重量%とするのがより好ましい。
無機摩擦調整材の含有量は、上記の平均粒子径が1〜8μmの酸化ジルコニウムと合わせて、摩擦材組成物全量に対して40〜75重量%とするのが好ましく、45〜70重量%とするのがより好ましい。
有機摩擦調整材の含有量は摩擦材組成物全量に対して4〜10重量%とするのが好ましく、6〜8重量%とするのがより好ましい。
表1、表2、表3に示す組成の摩擦材組成物をレディゲミキサーにて5分間混合し、成型金型内で30MPaにて10秒間加圧して予備成型をした。この予備成型物を、予め洗浄、表面処理、接着材を塗布した鋼鉄製のバックプレート上に重ね、熱成型型内で成型温度150℃、成型圧力40MPaの条件下で10分間成型した後、200℃で5時間熱処理(後硬化)を行い、研磨して摩擦面を形成し、乗用車用ディスクブレーキパッドを作製した(実施例1〜17、比較例1〜8)。
評価基準を表4、表5に、評価結果を表1、表2、表3に示す。
Claims (2)
- ディスクブレーキパッドに使用される、結合材、繊維基材、無機摩擦調整材、有機摩擦調整材、潤滑材を含み、銅成分を含まないNAO材の摩擦材組成物を成型した摩擦材において、前記摩擦材組成物は、潤滑材として平均粒子径が10〜1000μmのフッ素系ポリマー粒子を摩擦材組成物全量に対し0.5〜5重量%と、無機摩擦調整材として平均粒子径が1〜8μmの酸化ジルコニウムを摩擦材組成物全量に対し15〜35重量%含むことを特徴とする摩擦材。
- 前記フッ素系ポリマー粒子がポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の摩擦材。
