Abstract
【解決手段】LCDパネル46の縦列を駆動するための複数の出力バッファ(41.1−41.N)を備える装置40。総ての出力バッファ(41.1−41.N)に対して共通のバイアス電流Ibiasを供給するためにバイアス発生器42が使用される。手段43は、入力される負荷信号(LD)の数をカウントすることによりLCDパネル46上で駆動されるべきドットの物理的な位置に関する情報を与える。切換可能な電流源42は、物理的な位置に従ってバイアス電流Ibiasのレベルを変化させる。

Claims (11)
- LCDパネルの縦列を駆動するための複数の出力バッファと、
共通のバイアス電流を前記出力バッファの総てに対して供給するバイアス発生器と、
入力される負荷信号の数をカウントすることにより前記LCDパネル上で駆動されるべきドットの物理的な位置に関する情報を与えるための手段と、
前記物理的な位置に従って前記バイアス電流のレベルを変化させるための切換可能な電流源と、
を備えることを特徴とする装置。 - 切換可能な前記電流源は、前記出力バッファと駆動されるべき前記ドットとの間の物理的な距離に比例するバイアス電流を供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 切換可能な前記電流源は、基準電流のミラーリング原理に基づいていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 切換可能な前記電流源は複数のスイッチを備え、それにより、前記各スイッチは、前記バイアス電流に寄与する電流を加え、前記スイッチは、情報を与えるための前記手段により動作させられることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 情報を与えるための前記手段は、入力される前記負荷信号をカウントするためのカウンタを備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 情報を与えるための前記手段は、プレスケーラを備えることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記出力バッファは、前記LCDパネル上の任意の物理的位置における任意のドットに対してほぼ同じ出力信号を供給することを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記バイアス電流は、小さな物理的距離を有する横列を駆動する際にスルーレートを低減するため、前記出力バッファと駆動されるべき横列との間の物理的な距離に応じて形成されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 横列及び縦列のアレイとして配置された複数の液晶ピクセル電極と、
前記液晶ピクセル電極を駆動するための複数の横列ライン及び縦列ラインと、
前記複数の縦列ラインを駆動するための複数の出力バッファであって、その総ての出力バッファが共通のバイアス電流で動作可能な複数の出力バッファと、
前記出力バッファと駆動されるべき前記横列との間の物理的な距離に応じて前記共通のバイアス電流を変化させるための手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする液晶ディスプレイ。 - 前記共通のバイアス電流を変化させるための前記手段は、物理的な位置に従って前記バイアス電流のレベルを変化させるための切換可能な電流源を備えていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記各出力バッファは信号入力及び出力を有し、前記出力は、対応する前記縦列ラインを駆動するように接続され、前記信号入力は、デジタル−アナログ変換手段に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項9又は10に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
