Claims (6)

  1. 陽極と陰極との間に、ｎ（ｎは２以上の自然数）層のＥＬ層を有し、
    前記陽極からｍ（ｍは自然数、１≦ｍ≦ｎ−１）番目のＥＬ層とｍ＋１番目のＥＬ層との間に、第１の層と、第２の層とを有し、
    前記第１の層は、前記ｍ＋１番目のＥＬ層と前記第２の層との間に接して設けられ、
    前記第２の層は、前記第１の層と前記ｍ番目のＥＬ層との間に接して設けられ、
    前記ｍ番目のＥＬ層は、少なくとも、発光層と、前記第２の層と接する電子輸送層とを有し、
    前記第１の層は、正孔輸送性を有する第１の物質と、正孔輸送性を有する第１の物質に対するアクセプター性物質とを有し、
    前記第２の層は、電子輸送性を有する第２の物質を有し、
    前記電子輸送層は、電子輸送性を有する第３の物質と、アルカリ土類金属とを有し、
    前記アルカリ土類金属は、前記電子輸送層において、前記第２の層と接する界面から前記陽極側に向かってその濃度が低くなる濃度勾配を有する発光素子。
  2. 陽極と陰極との間に、ｎ（ｎは２以上の自然数）層のＥＬ層を有し、
    前記陽極からｍ（ｍは自然数、１≦ｍ≦ｎ−１）番目のＥＬ層とｍ＋１番目のＥＬ層との間に、第１の層と、第２の層とを有し、
    前記第１の層は、前記ｍ＋１番目のＥＬ層と前記第２の層との間に接して設けられ、
    前記第２の層は、前記第１の層と前記ｍ番目のＥＬ層との間に接して設けられ、
    前記ｍ番目のＥＬ層は、少なくとも、発光層と、前記第２の層と接する電子輸送層とを有し、
    前記第１の層は、正孔輸送性を有する第１の物質と、正孔輸送性を有する第１の物質に対するアクセプター性物質とを有し、
    前記第２の層は、電子輸送性を有する第２の物質と、電子輸送性を有する第２の物質に対するドナー性物質とを有し、
    前記電子輸送層は電子輸送性を有する第３の物質と、アルカリ土類金属とを有し、
    前記アルカリ土類金属は、前記電子輸送層において、前記第２の層と接する界面から前記陽極側に向かってその濃度が低くなる濃度勾配を有する発光素子。
  3. 請求項２において、
    前記ドナー性物質が、アルカリ金属、アルカリ土類金属、希土類金属、アルカリ金属化合物、アルカリ土類金属化合物または希土類金属の化合物である発光素子。
  4. 請求項２又は請求項３において、
    前記第２の層の膜厚は、１ｎｍ以上１０ｎｍ以下である発光素子。
  5. 請求項２又は請求項３において、
    前記第２の層は前記第２の物質に対して質量比で、０．００１以上０．１以下の比率で前記ドナー性物質が含まれている発光素子。
  6. 請求項１乃至請求項５のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子において、
    前記第２の物質のＬＵＭＯ準位が、−５．０ｅＶ以上−３．０ｅＶ以下である発光素子。
