Description

Claims (20)
- プロセス・データ・セットに対応する情報を含む記憶媒体と、
前記記憶媒体に対して配置されるリード/ライト・ヘッド・アセンブリと、
適応CBD推定回路とを含み、前記適応CBD推定回路は、前記プロセス・データ・セットを前記リード/ライト・ヘッド・アセンブリを介して受け取り、前記プロセス・データ・セットの第1の部分に少なくとも部分的に基づいて第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値を計算し、前記プロセス・データ・セットの前記第1の部分と、前記プロセス・データ・セットの第2の部分と、前記第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値とに少なくとも部分的に基づいて、第2のチャネル・ビット密度推定値を計算する、記憶デバイス。 - リード・チャネル回路をさらに含み、前記リード・チャネル回路が、アナログ/デジタル変換器を含み、前記アナログ/デジタル変換器が、前記プロセス・データ・セットに対応するアナログ信号を受け取り、前記アナログ信号に対応するデジタル・サンプルの系列を提供する、請求項1に記載の記憶デバイス。

- チャネル・ビット密度を適応的に推定する方法であって、
プロセス・データ・セットに対応する情報を含む記憶媒体を提供し、
前記記憶媒体にアクセスして前記プロセス・データ・セットを取得し、
前記プロセス・データ・セットの第1の部分に少なくとも部分的に基づいて、第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値を計算し、
前記プロセス・データ・セットの前記第1の部分と、前記プロセス・データ・セットの第2の部分と、前記第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値とに少なくとも部分的に基づいて、第2のチャネル・ビット密度推定値を計算することとを含む方法。 - 前記記憶媒体にアクセスして前記プロセス・データ・セットを取得することが、前記記憶媒体から得た情報に対してアナログ/デジタル変換を実行して、デジタル・サンプルの第1の組を提供することと、デジタル・サンプルの前記第1の組上でデータ検出を実行して、デジタル・サンプルの第2の組を生成することとを含み、前記プロセス・データ・セットがデジタル・サンプルの前記第1の組およびデジタル・サンプルの前記第2の組を含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のチャネル・ビット密度推定値を計算することが、デジタル・サンプルの前記第2の組と前記第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値とに少なくとも部分的に基づいて、チャネル・モデル計算回路を使用して、チャネル・モデル計算を実行することを含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記チャネル・モデル計算回路から得られた出力をデジタル・サンプルの前記第1の組から減算して、誤差信号を生成することをさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のチャネル・ビット密度推定値が、前記誤差信号と、前記プロセス・データ・セットの前記第1の部分と、前記プロセス・データ・セットの前記第2の部分と、前記第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値とに少なくとも部分的に基づいて計算される、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記チャネル・モデル計算回路から得られた前記出力が、前記チャネル・モデル計算回路から得られた第1の出力であり、前記方法はさらに、
利得係数を計算することを含み、前記チャネル・モデル計算回路から得られた前記第1の出力が、前記チャネル・モデル計算回路から得られた第2の出力に前記利得係数を乗じたものである、請求項12に記載の方法。 - 前記利得係数が後続する利得係数であり、前記後続する利得係数が、先行する利得係数と、前記誤差信号とに少なくとも部分的に基づいて計算される、請求項14に記載の方法。

- 前記第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値および前記第2のチャネル・ビット密度推定値が、前記記憶媒体に対して配置されるリード/ライト・ヘッド・アセンブリを特徴付けるために使用される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のチャネル・ビット密度推定値および前記第2のチャネル・ビット密度推定値が、前記記憶媒体からデータを受け入れるリード・チャネルを最適化するために使用される、請求項9に記載の方法。
