Abstract
【解決手段】不織ガラスマットは、10ミクロンより大きい直径を有するガラス繊維、ガラス繊維用のバインダ、及び第3の成分から構成される。第3の成分は、セルロース繊維、ガラスマイクロファイバ、高分子繊維、フィラー又はそれらの混合物を含み得る。第3の成分の存在は、極板のペースティング操作中に酸化鉛ペーストがマットの厚みに貫入することを制限することにより、プロセス設備に酸化鉛ペーストが蓄積しないように維持する。その後、成分は、電池用酸溶液に溶解するか、又は電池用セパレータと相乗的に作用して、電池の動作中に電解質を酸化鉛極板に送ることができる。

Claims (15)
- 鉛合金格子と、酸化鉛ペーストと、10ミクロンより大きい直径を有するガラス繊維、バインダ、並びにセルロース繊維、ガラスマイクロファイバ、高分子繊維、フィラー及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される成分から構成される不織ガラスマットとを含むことを特徴とする酸化鉛ペースト式電池用極板。
- 前記成分がセルロース繊維である請求項1に記載の電池用極板。
- 前記セルロース繊維が不織ガラスマット全体に均質に分散されている請求項2に記載の電池用極板。
- 前記セルロース繊維が不織ガラスマット内で階層化されている請求項2に記載の電池用極板。
- 前記成分がガラスマイクロファイバである請求項1に記載の電池用極板。
- 前記ガラスマイクロファイバが不織ガラスマット全体に均質に分散されている請求項5に記載の電池用極板。
- 前記ガラスマイクロファイバが不織ガラスマット内で階層化されている請求項5に記載の電池用極板。
- 前記不織ガラスマットのガラス繊維が約11ミクロン〜16ミクロンの範囲内の直径を有する請求項1に記載の電池用極板。
- 酸化鉛ペーストを鉛合金電池用極板の格子に付与すること、
不織ガラスマットを格子の両側に施すこと、及び
極板を切断すること、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電池用極板を製造する方法。 - 格子の両側に施された前記不織ガラスマットがセルロース繊維を含む請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記セルロース繊維が不織ガラスマット全体に均質に分散されている請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記セルロース繊維が不織ガラスマット内で階層化されている請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記不織ガラスマットがガラスマイクロファイバを含む請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスマイクロファイバが不織ガラスマット全体に均質に分散されている請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスマイクロファイバが不織ガラスマット内で階層化されている請求項13に記載の方法。
