Abstract
【解決手段】表示装置及びその駆動方法において、制御信号変換回路は、タイミングコントローラで生成された第1ゲート制御信号を既設定された基準時間ほど遅延させて、第2ゲート制御信号に変換してゲート駆動回路に提供する。ゲート駆動回路は、第2ゲート制御信号に応答して複数のゲート信号を順次に出力するが、各ゲート信号は、対応する水平走査区間の開始時点から基準時間ほど遅延させた時点で立ち上がり、対応する水平走査区間の最終時点前に立ち下がる。従って、水平走査区間の開始時点から所定区間の間に発生する共通電圧の歪曲に各画素が影響を受けないので、クロストーク及びグリーニッシュ(Greenish)現象などを改善することができる。

Claims (10)
- 映像データ、データ制御信号及び第1ゲート制御信号を出力するタイミングコントローラと、
前記データ制御信号に同期して前記映像データを受信してデータ電圧に変換し、一つの水平走査区間単位に一つのライン分量ずつ出力するデータ駆動回路と、
既設定された基準信号に基づいて前記第1ゲート制御信号を既設定された基準時間ほど遅延させて第2ゲート制御信号に変換する制御信号変換回路と、
前記第2ゲート制御信号に応答して複数のゲート信号を順次に出力するゲート駆動回路と、
前記ゲート信号に順次に応答して前記一つのライン分量のデータ電圧に対応する映像を順次に表示する複数の画素行を具備する表示パネルと、を含み、
各ゲート信号は、対応する水平走査区間の開始時点から前記基準時間ほど遅延させた時点で立ち上がり、前記対応する水平走査区間の最終時点前に立ち下がることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記基準時間は、前記各ゲート信号の立ち下がり時点と前記各ゲート信号の次のゲート信号の立ち上がり時点との間の時間間隔より小さいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記基準時間は、約2μs以上5μs以下に定義されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置。
- 前記各ゲート信号のパルス幅は、前記各ゲート信号の立ち下がり時点と前記次のゲート信号の立ち上がり時点との間の時間間隔が約4μs以下に減少しない範囲まで、増加させることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1ゲート制御信号は、第1垂直クロック信号及び第1出力イネイブル信号を含み、
前記第2ゲート制御信号は、前記第1垂直クロック信号より前記基準時間ほど遅延させた第2垂直クロック信号と、前記第1出力イネイブル信号より前記基準時間ほど遅延させた第2出力イネイブル信号と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第2出力イネイブル信号の立ち上がり時点と前記第2垂直クロック信号の立ち上がり時点との時間間隔は、約4μs以上に維持されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の表示装置。
- 前記データ電圧は、共通電圧に対して正極性、又は負極性を有し、
前記データ駆動回路は、一以上の水平走査区間単位に前記データ電圧の極性を反転させて出力することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記共通電圧は、直流電圧であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の表示装置。
- 前記制御信号変換回路は、前記タイミングコントローラに内蔵されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 複数の映像データ、データ制御信号及び第1ゲート制御信号を生成し、
前記データ制御信号に同期して前記複数の映像データを複数のデータ電圧に変換して一つの水平走査区間単位に一つのライン分量ずつ出力し、
既設定された基準信号に基づいて前記第1ゲート制御信号を既設定された基準時間ほど遅延させて第2ゲート制御信号に変換し、
前記第2ゲート制御信号に応答して複数のゲート信号を順次に出力し、
前記ゲート信号に順次に応答して前記一つのライン分量のデータ電圧に対応する映像を順次に表示することを含み、
各ゲート信号は、対応する水平走査区間の開始時点から前記基準時間ほど遅延させた時点で立ち上がり、前記対応する水平走査区間の最終時点前に立ち下がることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
