Abstract
Description
本発明は喫煙物品、特に巻きたばこなどの棒状の喫煙物品に関する。
図1から図13は本発明の代表的な喫煙物品の長手断面図を提供する。
本発明の様々な態様をさらに図示するために、以下の実施例を提供するが、範囲を限定するものとして解釈すべきではない。そうでないと記されない限り、全ての部およびパーセントは重量である。
マサチューセッツ州、Ward Hill、Alfa Aesarから得られたチタニア(TiO2)ペレットは、モルタル乳鉢内で研磨され、ふるいにかけられる。−16+30(USメッシュ)断片が収集される。顆粒は洗浄され、130℃に設定された炉内で一晩乾燥される。
「Eclipse」という商用名でR.J.Reynolds Tobacco Companyによって販売される喫煙物品からいくつかの燃料要素が得られる。各燃料要素は、表Iに記載された7つの溶液(A−G)の1つだけで浸漬被覆されている。溶液A−Fは、金属酸化物の粗い、細かいまたは超微細粒子を含み、溶液Gは対照であり、水を含んでいるだけである。
「Eclipse」という商用名でR.J.Reynolds Tobacco Companyによって販売されてい喫煙物品から燃料要素が得られる。酸化セリウム(0.4M酢酸塩中、pH3.0、平均粒径20nm直径)および酸化セリウム顆粒(100μm直径)の懸濁水溶液が、Alfa Aesarから得られる。燃料要素の1セットが、20nmの平均粒径を含む酸化セリウムの懸濁水溶液中に浸漬被覆される。燃料要素の第2のセットが、約100μmの直径を有する酸化セリウム顆粒の懸濁水溶液中に浸漬被覆される。燃料要素の第3のセットが、対照試料中に留まっている。懸濁水溶液は、均一の適用を保証するように、浸漬被覆過程の直前に撹拌される。浸漬被覆された燃料要素は、常温で3日間乾燥される。浸漬被覆された燃料要素の中心通路は、細かいワイヤで洗浄されて、開口通路を提供する。
燃料要素が、実施例3に記載された処置により得られる。酸化セリウムの懸濁水溶液(0.4M酢酸塩中、pH3.0、平均粒径10−20nm)は、Afla Aesarから得られた。酸化セリウムの細かいまたは超微細粒子の約8mgから約10mgが、酸化セリウムの細かいまたは超微細粒子の懸濁水溶液に燃料要素を浸漬被覆することによって燃料要素の一束に適用される。酸化セリウムの超微細粒子の約8mgから約10mgが、酸化セリウムの超微細粒子の懸濁水溶液中にこれらの燃料要素を浸漬被覆することによって、燃料要素の第2の束に加えられる。懸濁水溶液は、均一の適用を行うように、浸漬被覆過程の直前に撹拌された。浸漬被覆燃料要素を乾燥させた後に、これらの燃料要素はさらに塩化パラジウム(60mg/mL、水溶液)で処理される。すなわち、これらの燃料要素は塩化パラジウムを含む溶液中に浸漬被覆され、その結果、塩化パラジウムの約250μgが各燃料要素に適用される。浸漬被覆された燃料要素は、3日間常温で乾燥することが可能である。燃料要素の第3の束は、水だけで処理され、対照として使用される。
